- In this video, I see if I can get this old Cummins Big Cam Diesel powered Ford 9000 Semi Truck Prime Mover going before it is removed from the cow paddock in which it has been sitting for atleast 15 years without being started. Thanks for watching.
Yes another...
These videos are addictive....
I'm hooked...
Thanks for your support
This man KNOWS his stuff!!!! BRAVO!!
I'm an American mechanic in Wyoming who'd like to come to Australia to live and work for awhile. I enjoy your videos.
This gentleman really knows his craft. The way he's so careful and cleaning around those nuts so as not to contaminate the pump. U don't see too many so careful.
You are a legend Bruce, if anyone could start, you did.
Ah the glee in Bruce's voice in the outro, the man loves what he does and bonus points for finishing up before dark! These old mechanical beasts never cease to amaze us, no matter how long they're stayed dormant...
By the way, who is Mister Cameraman? Is he your son? Would be nice to have a face reveal to get to know you guys better!
An old man from Texas who always enjoy watching your videos.
And an old man from Arkansas as well!
From an old man in QLD (me), I enjoy this work and the fact that I can share it with others who also enjoy it is a bonus
Looks like the engine might be the only part of the old Louisville worth saving. Another good job, Bruce 👍
Greetings from Louisville!
If I ever visit Australia and go into the outback I'll make sure you are with me! Great job again Bruce. 👍
Thank you
@johnmcdonnell81. Not only will you not get stranded by you would have literally an encyclopedia of knowledge with you!
Didn’t you see all the green grass? His not in the outback lol
@@Brad_The_Truckie outback or at home Bruce’s knowledge is with him not in a book
Queenslands closer to a rainforest than the outback mate but I agree it would be sweet to team up with brucey
Yes yes yes! Another upload, this will make my whole weekend! 💫
Thanks so much for your support
A bucket of beers would be key to make this perfect
Thanks for the support
Well done Bruce! I thought that truck was toast but you have created a diamond in the dust.
Thank you, I was a bit surprised too
Oh look, it's Waltzing Matilda. Someone took the jet off the back if you know you know
Yes!! a fun little adventure. Thanks for bringing us along.
No problem, I’m glad people enjoy these videos
Absolute right mess and yet bush mechanic Bruce made a miracle happen, good on ya sir, quality content once again
I learnt how to drive in one of these old Fords years ago with the faithful old 350 big cam cummins under the bonnet. Was one of the best engines around back in the day, near bulletproof. Thanks for the video Bruce.
I love your down-to-earth, lack of hype style Bruce. Your videos are so easy to watch and it's obvious you've had a lot of experience working on these machines and haven't lost your passion for them. Cheers mate from a fellow aussie.
good video Bruce- you tubes diesel creek is swapping a big cam cummins into his truck after a complete engine overhaul
The old engines sound good when they fire up. Thanks great video.
Go Bruce go💪🏻🔧😀
And yes,i am a new subscriber. 😉
Greetings from Holland 💪🏻🔧🇦🇺🫡
Thanks very much, I appreciate your subscription
Very well done Bruce! Cummins Big Cam engines are one of my favorite truck engines!
She's a runner! Not a mover but a runner ☺
I used to hate working on these at Cummins in the 80's. Tight access.
Bonza shirt there Bruce...
It keeps the chest hair contained (mostly) lol
Good memories of these Ford LNT 9000 Use too haul chrome in South africa with the these trucks Had a Cummins 350 9 speed fuller Jacobs brake tandem diff Henderson bogey This was in the 80
Hello Bruce great seeing you getting these old trucks running keep up the great work blessings to you and everyone thanks for sharing love it mate good luck and all the best
Thanks very much Denis all the best to you and your loved ones as well
Good to see this Bruce, looks like the grounds drying out just fine.
Hi Ernie, it starts to, then it pours again, very frustrating
Nice one Bruce, another great video !
Just goes to show your tried and tested methodical approach works every time.
Thanks for sharing.
The old ford Louie bit of a unicorn there Bruce
Man I don’t think I’d even go near an engine bay with so many cob webs in the outback😧 this guys got balls of steel.
Darn near started first go! Bruce you're a champ mate!
I have fond memories of these old trucks. My dad had a 1986 LNT 9000 for 10 years, 365 Big Cam 4, 13 speed overdrive and SP40s with 411s on airbag. it had the same interior, a 42 inch low line bunk, fiberglass flares and visor plus the later style grille off a LTS. it was a tidy little truck back in it's day
My dad, God rest him, used to drive a Ford L9000 like this one for the state, delivering equipment. He called it Blue Thunder and they put down some mileage back in the 90s and 2000s. When it was time for a rebuild my dad convinced his friend in the maintenance yard to install the next size turbo and bump up the fuel a bit :D Always a hot rodder.
There's an old Slim Dusty song called "There lie an old workhorse " that song describes this truck to a tee .
If we had one leader like Bruce the country would be fixed, instead of the BS from the two parties
Another old man from Texas who enjoys watching you work on this old equipment waiting for you to attack the D9 we saw in the shed a few video's back
great way to start a saturday, coffee and another award winning video from Bruce and the camera man….
Come on people support Bruce, over 1000 views and less then 300 likes… Him and the camera man do great work at great personal risk to themselves with snakes spiders wasps & hornets
Thanks very much for your ongoing support Chris, we will keep doing them while we can and when we can get together
@@bruceinaus no worries at all im learning alot from you and your videos, I do uave a question tho i’ve recently been given a 2003 hino (diesel) truck for my job it has a terrible knock im wondering how i an amateur could work out if its timing or bad fuel compression?
i own a diesel hilux and through that i do know a little, I believe its not the pistons
Amazing. It runs after sitting abandoned outdoors for so long. I hope someone can pull the engine, rehab what is needed and make it useful again.
Park it out on the road, call the NRMA😁
Thanks Jim, they’d need to bring a gearbox with them
No Real Mechanics Available
Lovely job again Bruce - love your work 👍
Thanks for the support
The engine and the hood is it on that job. Glad it started and you did good. I've driven a couple with the big cam and they did all right but I'm a admirer of a 3406, a 300-Plus, an E-9 and a GM/Detroit. Paid many a light bill looking at dog butts. Thanks, Bruce and CHEERS!
Thanks very much Lew, yes the engine ran surprisingly well and your right, the bonnet assembly seemed to be in particularly good condition for fibreglass
@@bruceinaus You get the SA-PLUS, pal! Thanks and CHEERS to you and the camera person!
She’s a goer the old Henry..💪
Yep, not a bad runner either
Wow. That was easy. I’ve had daily drivers that took almost that much to get them going. Check oil, add a bit of water, prime the pump, connect batteries and fire it up.
Good job mate I like your way of thinking and working on this old trucks there's one for you EV
Always a good day when Bruce uploads.. taught me a lot with engines and diagnosing problems with simple ways.. great video mate can’t wait for the next one!
Nicely done, again!
Absolutely love your Bruce .
Bruce you’re amazing!
You just like my ole dad never flushed and meticulous thank you ⚓🛠️🤠 JB
Hey Bruce, you should make another video trying to fire up that old tractor you borrowed the dipstick from !! Keep them coming ! From Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you, I
Might just do that. It’s actually a 250hp machine with a bonnet off a smaller tractor on it
Protect this man at all cost! What a legend !
You make look too easy, a lotta cats would have milked the video for at least an hour lol. Good job, you know your stuff.👍
My Ag-Chem terra gator was fitted with a VT 555 big cam turbo Cummins with Alison auto box was used for fertiliser/ lime spreading for my spreading services in agricultural Bruce 🇬🇧🇮🇪.
Another fantastic video! Always nice to join you Bruce.
Great video and explanations. Love the shot of the cattle looking on.
Another proper first start.👍
Cool,a new video from Bruce from down under👍👍.
Stay safe and hope to see you soon in your next video😉.
This old Ford truck has a bigger air filter housing as my car's fuel tank😂😂.
👋 bonjour from🥖🇫🇷
Peter
Another victory, Bruce!
Wow that started quickly. A Master Mechanic! Thank You.
So methodical! Love your posts, always nice to see someone take an interest in getting the most out of their equipment!
I'd be curious about the demographics of your audience.
Great post,
Bruce!
Success!
Thanks very much Robert, the demographic is quite broad brush surprisingly
Love your adventures!!!!! Thanks Bruce!!
You're a bloody miracle worker mate! I thought this one would be your nemesis 😉
Thanks very much, I was a bit surprised as well
Awesome job Bruce! Super knowledgeable indeed 👏👏👏. Look forward to seeing your next video 🤩
Your very clever , enjoy your videos 👍👍
Man you got a wealth of knowledge.
Another great job
Thank you
Love your videos man
Thanks very much Mark
Great video Bruce. It’s amazing what you do with those old vehicles ✌️
Another great video! With all the webs, too bad you didn't pack your fire extinguisher / air compressor. With the volume of oil, wonder if the leak was the oil line for the turbo. Never thought to use a wire to check oil - Brilliant! Diesel Creek channel is building a big cam Cummings for his Autocar antique diesel, maybe it wouldn't hurt to message. Thanks for the video.
I understand your struggle with wasps, my farm acco i brought to brisbane and sits in a suburban neighbourhood getting fixed, but i still have wasps making nests in the front of the engine bay!
You remind me of my grandfather you 2 would have been fast friends. Love your content. Cheers from Ohio.
Sure made for great viewing bro, hope someone gives the engine another chance in life. Safe travels. Ken. May the forth be with you
Pretty cool it is got the poor old thing started n running be a nice engine fur someone probably .. great video
Nice to see you get it started Bruce. Shame it in poor condition. Been good to see it move. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
This one isn’t worth salvaging. Kudos to the camerman for some great angles.
Thanks very much, the camera man does his best
I was just Thinking I haven't checked for an upload thanks mate 😁😁👍
Thanks Mick, I’m getting ready to load another one shortly with a bit of luck!

Great job view Bruce awesome video once again.GMC guy here, United States of America, Boston, Massachusetts. And by the way great filming camera guy.❤❤❤❤❤
Good old ford Louisville the engine sounded quite good when it was running
@PeterShaw-lb9lt I love the older stuff was meant to last unlike stuff nowadays. Can I ask what ever happened to the good old days when stuff was made with pride and you new it would last you unlike the junk today.
Yes I was a little surprised it started so well after sitting so long
@@bruceinaus Great Video Bruce Awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍
I sure do enjoy your videos! Thank you so much for shareing with us! Also, I noted you connected the positive battery cable first!
Another excelent video Bruce!👍🤘 I love your content
Great job Bruce 👍
Thank you
Dear Mr. Bruce.
👍👌👏 2) When will we see the video about the big red tractor and it's little older buddy sitting beside it? 😁 ;-)
Best regards, luck and especially health to all involved people.
My pop use to have a old ford Louisville that I grew up in this reminds me abit of it.
great video bruce👍 are 60 series detroits a common thing over there? those are great reliable motors if you really know what you are doing with them and take care of them!
Nice one Bruce. It's a Cummins so I never had any doubt it would start. It's sounds good so not too much work to make it fully serviceable again. (New Sub, I like how you work mate).
My grandpa's well rig was the same Ford cab, but the road motor was a Cat 3208, and the deck engine was a Detroit 8v92 turbo 435hp continuous running the implements. It was called a "Porta-drill." 1980's.
Yes we have a few similar set ups here, sometimes with 12v71 detroits on the back, commonly known as drill rigs
Nice job she sound`s a good motor, GG
Yes I was a bit surprised actually, thanks for watching
Good job Bruce! Enjoyed the video!
Appreciate it Phillip
Another great video Bruce thanks for sharing 🦘
Massive work bruce.
Nice one Bruce 👍
Sounds sweet mate
It ran surprisingly good once the air came through
Nice vid Bruce ! That one was easy 😂
Thanks Brad, yes it was a bit surprising actually. It has been sitting atleast 15 years and the owners thought it could well have been much longer than that
