can also tell you if a Whirlpool Door with the ice maker and water dispenser on the left door won't close and seal properly-- CHECK inside the door where the light switch makes contact. It took me about two days of examination trying to figure out what was wrong. The door "acted" like it was out of square but what had actually happened was where the door rocker switch made contact with the door, it created an indention in the vinal of the door, thus keeping the switch from compressing properly, forcing the door ajar and the Ice maker and water dispenser to not operate, It would depress just enough to keep the "open door" light from coming on..
Super helpful. I had a KitchenAid bottom freezer and the door would tend bind when closing. That meant it was easy to leave the door slightly ajar. Your video led me to the solution. The gear rack had a bunch of frozen gunk in the teeth. I used alcohol and a small brush to clean it out. Good as new now.
My neighbors fridge broke and he brought food to out in our freezer. Then our freezer got all frosty for several days and I know it was not left open. Now the freezer bottom drawer won’t open on the left side - Al title on the right. Moisture caused ice to make it stuck? We turned the freezer temp up to hopefully defrost it? We did unplug the fridge, but thought we could just warm up the freezer. What a mess we have on our hands -any suggestions before calling a technician?
Check the gasket to make sure that doesn't have any cuts or is damaged at all. Where is the location of the frost? What is the model number of of your freezer?

I just went through my bottom freezer door not opening. I defrosted for 8 days until it opened.
