Did you install the latest GRE drivers allowing over locking seems like some people are getting NEAR 7900xt performance after overlocking on some titles
Thanks for sharing this information. The biggest difference seemed to come from the first upgrade, before you put in the new gpu. Do you think it was entirely from the i7 vs the i3, or do you think the extra ram was a big part of it too?
I never see more than 18gb of memory usage. I have to believe it was the i7 that made the difference. I will note that the frames per second were much more influenced by the GPU, than the CPU. I observed an average of +35 FPS from the GPU and around 10-15 for the i7, but that wasn’t seen on every course. Hopefully that answers your question!!
To me it’s not about how many frames it’s more about frame pacing and consistency anything above 30-40 is overkill considering how we are playing ie not twitch based How many fps were you getting 4K high on the gre?
Hey! Would the pickup of 30-50 fps matter if your projector is maxing out at 60 fps? Just want to know because I have the Benq TK700 as well. Thanks so much!
Keep me updated! Also I reached out to SurfThing who are heavily involved in both the Esports and Golf Simulation space. They had come to the conclusion that even though somebody has over 60 fps it caps at 60 fps because that is the maximum the display can project out! When it comes to the Benq TK700 projector, the maximum it can do is 4k at 60hz however it is optimized for gaming at 1080p at 240 hz with 4.2 ms of lag! I am curious to know which gameplay is better, 4k at 60hz or 1080p at 240 hz, you should do a video on it! It really would be helpful! Also I am a golf nerd too lol
@@clw22580 not at all. I saw improvements on older and newer courses. The newer courses improved less. I would strike that up to the fact that the newer courses are so much larger and more difficult to render.
@@EFFTrudeau-001 well for the record they are both 12th gen. I believe I mentioned that later in the video, but for the sake of clarity, that’s what they were/are. Thanks for the feedback!
I have no idea what any of that meant, lol. If I give you the specifications of my machine can you just tell me what to get and I’ll have my local computer store upgrade it for me.
I try and explain this all the time of FB but people argue with me all the time. Usually when someone asks will this oc run it well, and it’s a below recommended; I try my best to explain things but there is always someone that say “I run this fine in ultra” and post a picture of it. Great. That tells us nothing. Whether you are using a 4090 or a 1660ti, they will all display the picture fine. But it’s the smoothness that changes. FPS matter if you want a natural flow. I even go back to my old videos when I ran a laptop with an i7 and 2070 super (before the current version of GSPro) and it’s painful to watch. I was probably pulling 30-40 fps but it was just not smooth. With my desktop with i7 and a 3080ti, it’s perfect. The computer really should not be overlooked. I know people can be on budgets but going cheap on this will result in further needed upgrades for most. Spend that extra money now and save a headache!
If your 2070 Super was painful than you have something wrong. Then again you are stating a 2070S with a laptop which laptop GPU arnt close to same comparison as desktop of the same name. I have 2070S and play every title out there in 4K nd these are 2024 courses. So again something is wrong when you say the 2070s was painful
@@EFFTrudeau-001 Yes, it was a laptop. My point was that I thought everything was fine until I actually saw smooth gameplay. My 2070S laptop was not. Mainly it was the CPU throttling because the game was pushing it too hard. If you do not believe me, you can go and look back on old videos. I noticed it recently when I was playing Turner Hill and was looking back at earlier videos when I played it on my laptop. The laptop 2070S is about 30% slower than a desktop 3060ti which is the recommended for 1080p with no issues. I had issues. Hard to argue. Had it been a desktop, the two are very close with the 2070 only about 10% slower. I do question your 4K ultra running smooth though. Would love to see gameplay (not just an image) and maybe you would see the same thing I did when I thought things were fine.

No I haven’t!! But thanks for the heads up, I love a little free performance! Thanks man!!

4k ultra ranged from 80-95 depending on the course. And for the video I turned off vsync, so when vsync 1 is on, it should be significantly smoother.
@@TheGolfNerd good to hear about the gre may go that route over the planned 7900 xt just can’t decide 7600x or 7800x3d for the cpu now

This is a great question and I wanted to make sure I got accurate info. I’ve reached out to my contact at BenQ and I’ll circle back.

Odd on the processor - you think the x3d and chips would help over say a 7600x
I was very surprised by the impact of the cpu as well!!

comparing an i3 to an i7 just like this is complete nonsense, you didn't even mention the exact models 😑
I’m sorry you didn’t find it helpful. Have a good weekend!
I agree you can't compare a i3 vs i5 vs i7 vs i9 without saying the generation
