I just bought a gaming computer with a 3080 GPU which I know is what GSPro recommends for an excellent 4K experience, but I have heard that you should buy a better card like the 4070ti so you will be ready for the future as the graphics on GSPro will be improving over time as they have in the past. Do you have an estimate for how long it will be, based on past experience, before the 3080 will not be a great GPU for 4K?
There’s really no way I could say with any certainty. However, I did notice that the card I used to use ran out of steam on the newer more intense courses. The 3080 is such a good card, that even if you couldn’t run 4k, you will be able to run 1080 for a long time. If it was me, I wouldn’t sweat it.
@@TheGolfNerdThanks! What was the card you used to use that ran out of steam, was it a 3080? I am thinking of getting a 4k projector but I wouldn't want to use the 3080 if there are some golf courses that won't work right away. I am hoping the 3080 would last 3-5 years and then I would upgrade to a newer, faster card
@@AndrewN-926 mine was an amd 6700xt, basically a 3060ti equivalent. I would highly recommend you watch my most recent projector video before you buy a projector. I honestly don’t think the resolution within GS Pro is there to justify spending a whole Lotta money on 4K resolution. If you watch my video, you can see a side-by-side image and make up your mind for your own.
@@TheGolfNerd Thanks. I saw that video and was going to buy a 4k on Amazon and try it out. If it is as you say I would return the 4k. I suppose if I like the 4k and the 3080 is not as good as I need it, I can always upgrade at that time.

Enjoy your vids, but not computer savvy and still struggling to pick out a budget PC. Is it possible to purchase a new or refurbished desktop under $500 that would run GS Pro effectively in 1080P that’s plug and play ready. If so, do you have any links? I see a lot of gaming pc’s for sale on FB under $500 and I’m sure there’s gotta be a couple that would work, but I have no idea what I’m looking at regarding computer specs to understand if it’ll work or not.
I’m sure you could but I am more comfortable in the $800 range for a pc that will give a good experience. I don’t like to recommend solutions that I don’t have confidence will run effectively.
Hi, I believe it was a scam on amazon. so I canceled the order. I am looking at ASUS Zenbook Duo Dual 14 with intel arc graphics. the graphic card has no model number, and is just basic. Whats your thoughts on it. It is the 32gm memory for a 3k OLED touch laptop.
I won’t recommend any of that doesn’t have onboard graphics. I believe this video or one of my others has individuals sharing their successes with internal video cards, but I personally have not tested them and therefore won’t recommend them. Sorry man.

No it wouldn't run it. The benchmark score for a Ryzen 7 7730U onboard graphics is 2,470. In comparison the minimum hardware requirement on the GSPro site says Nvidia GTX 1070 which would have a 13,507 benchmark score.
@@AlexHernandez-wx6qk I think that’s a great deal. I’d think you’d want to format the hard drive and install a fresh install of windows, but otherwise I can’t see any reason to not buy something with those specs.
I wish the community would tell people AMD cpus and gpus are PERFECTLY CAPABLE (and better perf per $) than the Nvidia/Intel builds on GS Pro - you can save HUNDREDS on a build going "Team Red" and get more performance

@@clw22580 the 6700xt has been great at 1080p, but it struggles with about 50% of the courses in 4k. I’m thinking the 7900 GRE should work very well. I’m sure you are aware of this, but since GSPro doesn’t use ray tracing (currently) the AMD card probably has an advantage!
