Fun Fact:
At 0:22 the North Korean village that he said doesn't look half bad was actually an empty town that North Korea made to show South Korea that they're country had better living conditions. The town consisted of nice houses, supermarkets, shops etc. but was actually empty. They claimed that over 200 people lived there however no one was ever seen; the windows had no glass and the lights were on automatic timers. Useless info but kind of a fun fact in context to the video

As an official flag between Mexico and Italy, Mexico began to use it in 1940 and Italy since 1946.
It was already used as a flag in Mexico since 1936 however Italy has much more history with those three colors (since the 1700s i think so)

And finally «Monaco» through the middle ages.
The *Grimaldi* family took control of the city state in 1297 and their coat of arms are & became the known colors the flag wear today.

What eventually become the Italian flag was used for the first time basically 70 years before Italy was formed, in 1797. So the Mexican flag was made 24 years later.

0:56 The finnish lion was actually supposed to be on the flag of the kindom of Finland, but after Germany lost WW1 the german prince who was supposed to be king didn't come and Finland was made to be a republic. The flag was changed to current day form then.
What? It still is to this day on the state variant of the flag. The blue-cross was adopted right after the civil war along with its variants and has only slightly been amended since then.

Actually Mexico had the flag way before Italy, since the 1800's. But the Eagle was constantly changing through the various wars that occur. But I think that since the logo changed very recently, it is as if the whole flag was officially changed

Fun fact: veneto's flag still exists as a region of Italy
The flag of Castilla is a castle because in Spanish it means land of castles. It was named during the reconquista and it was a land that needed heavy protection from the Arabs so a lot of castles were built.

@@felicepompa1702 That flag never been the official flag of the city of Venice, it was the Militar Naval flag of the Venice Republic (not the official flag of the Republic, that was more similar to the today's flag of Venice). Veneto flag is similar but without saints and with 7 stripes instead of 6 (6 stripes for the 6 districts of Venice, 7 stripes for the 7 cities of Veneto).
The Saint Mark Lion with the sword is a war symbol, Venice flag has and had the Lion with an open book that show the words "Peace unto you, Mark, my Evangelist" in Latin.
