  • Fixed it in under 10 minutes using a 7mm socket and a tiny bit of elbow grease!
    This HMI is under the right passenger from kick panel. You might have to find out where your HMI unit is in your if not a 10Gen Impala.

    My infotainment system was out for 4 years, mainly because I didn't want to be over charged by the dealership. I've tried everything until I saw this video. I 100% cosign this. Thanks!!!

    @blakepoulter7813 3 года назад +8

    Thank you for the video. I was lucky enough to not have to pull everything out. Others may try to unscrew the 2 bolts that hold up the light as you said in the beginning. Once that is pulled down a little(light still in socket) you can see the wires. I was able to push up on the wires and heard them pop back in. The screen worked after that. The cords are very tight as well so usually this can make them come ajar when hitting bumps or railroad tracks repeatedly.

  • @kyleyurchak6132
    @kyleyurchak6132 3 года назад +1

    I think my HMI is on the driver's side behind the drop down compartment where the internal fuse box for my Chevrolet 2015 Impala LT 3.6. Are all the cables in your video the HMI or is it a specific one? Thanks for any response. My display has been very, very, very dim where you can barely see the display.

    • @AnthonyP2A
      @AnthonyP2A  3 года назад

      No - ALL trim levels are on the RIGHT side on th4e Gen 10, which is what you have. If your dosplay is very dim, go to the control panel and change the brightness/contrast level. If they are in the MAX setting for bright and mid to low on contrast, check the power going to the fuse and see if it's under-powered. (Use a voltmeter for this.)

    • @AnthonyP2A
      @AnthonyP2A  4 года назад +1

      No. it was completely useless. My guess one of the cables came loose and once I took them all off and reseated them, all was fixed. In your case it sounds like a signal cable (backup cam) was not affected. I'd reseat ALL of the cables and go from there. If that does not work, check to make sure NONE of the wires popped off the connector itself. I'd use your phone camera in ZOOM mode to check that out.

      Follow my steps and see if a wire has come loose. Also check the fuse as well. DO NOT force the screen up or down! If all else fails, remove the battery cables for 2 hours to discharge the BCM and see if it works when you reconnect the battery.
