Hey, once car up in the air on jack stands was the engine and transmission able to hold up on two side mounts. Engine and transmission mount. Or did you need to support engine and transmission from underneath car to keep it from falling out.
I’m trying to replace mine, but I can’t tell which rack and pinion type I have to order because there’s 2 options. I have the 3.6l LT impala 2018. Any advise?
Well in this case the symptom was the steering wheel was very hard and would skip alot when steering and a loud whining noise was heard, turns out these are belt driven and the belt snaps ! and thats what happened in our case , yes you could just replace the belt but this customer did not want to repair his own rack and pinion and instead chose to have it replaced completely
hi, I changed steering rack and Pinion in my Malibu 2013 , i did all things exactly same now after installing it, power steering is not working like it's stiff as hell may be the motor is not working, so does it mean the new steering rack is bad or i need to programme it to get work
@@TNG11Automotive hi, i took my car to GM services they said they can't do that because the part is VIN locked, either i have to buy new steering rack for $3000 CAD or scrap the car wth is this, can you suggest me something?

It will for sure need a reprogramming

Well you would need a high level scan tool as not any can do it , ones thats capable of programming computers

Did you have to program it?
You have to perform Steering angle sensor recalibration

So can my mechanic install this? And can i get it towed somewhere else to get it programmed?
Yea basically they can do the labor and have it towed to where they can program it !
