I went to the trent last month for first time and got my first ever barble at 13lb12oz I was well over the moon . Well done lads

@@DigbyTray You shut the hell up Riley! I'm new to fishing and all I'm saying is that I never put the fish back. Sometimes they die in my net, sometimes I eat them, sometimes I put them in my backyard pond. I'll admit that I felt guilt when I caught a bottle-nose off live bait and it died but apart from that who gives, they're just fish. Best regards, Cleg

What a fish!!! I loved the "Callan your banned" remark from Adam. Adam not expecting to catch a carp was a bit of a strange one because the Trent holds carp to over 30lb. Great to see you wetting a line again mate. Keep it up. 👍

Mate that book is second to none I got mine and it has everything you could want in it and explained easy. which helps no end great little book.iv been carp fishing for 20 years on lakes and wanted to go back to the river to fish for all and fun. this book this year will help me out big time ✌🏻👌🏻

What a day a PB and all caught barbel, plus a bonus carp. I love getting so many species on the river, it shows how healthy the river is.

Great video Carl and banging pb Callan . The mighty trent never fails iv had all my pb barbel from the trent at A1pits stretch with my biggest being a lovely 15lb on the nose. great work guys and some great chub by Adam 👍👍👍

I really like that Idea of "rotating bites", I think we all know how demoralising it can be to blank at some time. This is something I am going to look at introducing with our little fishing group. I bought the book earlier in the year and it was a pleasure to read, and I keep it in my tackle bag in case I have a slow day on the bank. Take care guys, oh look forward seeing how your carp pond turns out.

Hi Carl, you and Alex have been a great help teaching me how to fish. Was wondering if you could do something on where to fish, whether it's paid spots or free, how you found them, how much it cost and so on. Also any info on the different types of rods and there weights and such would be great.
Glad to hear it Louis! Glad the films have been helpful. Would love to help, but there many variables to what you ask of! In terms of finding spots, I just look for blue blobs on google maps, and research stretches, and find out what Angling Clubs they belong to etc. In regards to rods etc feel free to browse the Tutorials Channel - there's lots of info on there for all kinds of set ups, gear advice for certain species and tactics etc :) Here it is incase you haven't been on the channel yet: ruclips.net/channel/UC2azWG-2YzlQvqSxIW8xI5g

A little tip if you're struggling to cast a groundbait feeder with a long hooklink is to lightly poke the hookbait (assuming it's something hard like a pellet/boilie) into the groundbait at the bottom of the feeder. It'll basically halve your hooklength and make casting with brambles or other snags behind you much easier

Nice vid, great fish, but Rio is the best drink. Rubicon used to be nice before they filled it with sweeteners, no sweeteners in Rio. Omi giving vodka to the goat was the best bit though... :)
