I just upgraded my system early feb and it has been amazing. It took me probably 1.5 hours but I had to run to the stop for the T8 screwdriver. And getting that dern hub out was a pain to get to. But otherwise it was sooooo easy! Thanks Brian!
Woke up at 8am to “delivery changed from Wednesday to today” beyond ecstatic currently sitting in my car with my sync 2 taken out of the console waiting for the mail truck like a little kid, the price is definitely able to be looked past for a better sync system

@@cstrombone no, an OEM part needs the headliner pulled down for it to be a proper install, which isn't possible for most folks so I use a quality aftermarket antenna that I've vetted
@@cstrombone yes you'd still need aftermarket as OEM runs off of the CANBUS network instead of a FAKRA based connector which is what Sync 3 uses. Lmk if that makes sense I'm tired AF rn 😅
Hey Brian great work on your videos. I have a 2017 Ford Escape S base model. I have looked the internet up and down and not much info for doing a base model swap of the gen 1 sync that came standard to the sync 3. I know you have been looking for one to do but im down south on the OK and TX border. Ive seen also on another post where you said yes that can be done. What will i need to do it with sync 3 including navigation, like a shoping list if you will. Money is no object. Thank you so much and hope to hear back
Hey Eric, so there is a problem with doing the Escape. Is it possible? Absolutely. The main issue is unlike literally almost every other car that Ford makes, they did not make the dash part of the Escape modular. So really the only way to actually get it to work is to do a bunch of cutting and fabricating custom mounts to get it to work. I do want to try this one day, but I haven't managed to work up the courage to do it on a customer's car yet.

Looking at everything i have seen and researched only thing i saw that would maybe be an issue was getting all the hardware in....and you have confirmed that. Thanks for your great clips, which I have always enjoyed watching I live in Australia and recently I swapped the Sync 2 and its APIM of my 2016 Ford Kuga Trend to a Sync 3 and its APIM from an local 2018 Ford Escape Trend donor. Every thing worked beautifully. Here in Australia the climate icon of our Sync 3's are not activated. I hooked my car's OBDII to FORScan and activated the climate icon on the Sync 3 APIM. Again it worked beautifully EXCEPT the displayed climate temperature for the RHD driver and the LHD passenger on the Sync 3 are reversed I have searched the web for a fix without success. Some website suggested it is wiring issue (not a software) and that Ford only manufactured the Sync 3 APIM with AC wiring configuration only compatible with LHD driving vehicle. I don't want to start slicing and swapping wires between the Sync 3 APIM and my Climate Control Module. It could messy......... I was wondering if you are aware of any after-market software SYNC 3 APIM programs that can align the displayed climate temperature for the RHD driver and the LHD passenger vehicles? Thanks in advance

The screen and connectivity seems to work for the most part but I'm not getting any signal to my speakers and it's sometimes sluggish and shuts off my screen saying low battery. I'm wondering if there is any way forh me to test my current APIM to see if that really is my problem before I jump into this and find out I have a different problem.

The T20 screw is 2 of 4 screw for the lid.
to take off the back panel, take out the 1 screw above the 2 removed in video.
