I've a 2016 Focus SE but it's different than both of these .It doesn't have navigator and I had it two weeks . Does have synch system abs and a few other goodies that I'm sooo happy . My old 06 Sentra was very bare / poor in a lot of areas compared to this new one . Verrry glad I got it . This one has Bluetooth , ABS , rear camera . tire pressure monitoring DAAANNNGGG .
This is only for 12-14 (or 15.... Certainly not 16) so yes yours is different, he also makes a kit for those as well.

This is amazing! I lost all hope into upgrading to to sync 3 with my st, I stopped looking at speakers and head units for a while because I realized I would have to have ford do it for me which was going to be hella expensive but this is great I plan on buying parts now

did you ever try this? how did it go?
@@viction7236 price outweighed the desire to do it. Ford thankfully fixed my sync issues under a RAV warranty so everything works fine with my stock system. If or when it breaks now that it’s out of warranty I would reconsider buying.

Why never a Focus? . I've recently got one and it's a salvage title. 06 focus SE 2.0 L . Runs and looks fantastic though. Got it for maybe less than half of blue book dealer price. Three weeks now. Yeah found some minor things I had to fix. But otherwise seems like a phenomenal deal. Yeah I thought it was maybe technology design that made engine / powertrain so much more powerful than old car 06 Sentra.
I'm pretty confused. I went to the site you have above to look into buying the parts and the only thing I can find in your link is the bezel, but I can't find the touch panel itself. Do you sell that main component too?

Perfect video! What do you think is it possible to change the MFD to SYNC2 or SYNC3 in a 2012 Ford C-Max? I have the 4.2inch screen with Aux in, bluetooth and navigation but I would like to have the SYNC system with bigger screen. Is it possible to upgrade?

Would this upgrade be possible on the non-SYNC version of the 2012 SE? So the one with the very tiny screen?

no you cannot upgrade a non sync focus to a sync focus.
@@Mhaona1all Focus's "have" SYNC.... They just don't all have the same sync
Yes this harness will work for the "non sync"😉 cars.... They have the exact same wiring as all the no touch screens... HOWEVER, you might need the ACM and might need to "activate" bluetooth in a separate step.
It will absolutely work but it might not be EXACTLY the same as this video. (Converting to the sync like in the video was a plug and play affair so obviously with that being the case, this would also be true...
This is something I could maybe do in my 2016?

Sorry been having technical issues -- the harness will work with this setup, however auto HVAC control on the screen will not work with my harness 😢

@@Xfilesde your HVAC will still work you just won't have control of it from your screen. I can add in an extra connector to make the function work (I'll have these as add-ons in next month). The only reason I don't add these to my harnesses is that they're pretty costly to add because the connectors are custom (adding 20% to the manufacturing cost per harness). It didn't seem worth it to add since in the US all Focuses with 4" Sync don't have auto HVAC

It's the same as this, really. Could be a bit different if you have an auto but that's just a matter of popping the shift boot off
Could this be done to a 2013 escape se, with the 4 inch sync. ? What parts do i need for sync 3 from a donor vehicle ? Would you be able to provide a harness and programming help ?
How much does all of this cost?
With all staff around 500$
it’s 670$ for the components then an additional 250$ for the wiring harness. So almost 1k for this upgrade. I do admire the craftsmanship and the knowledge that was needed to make this happen but for almost a thousand dollars it’s a bit of a stretch. For the price it’s a hard sale. Seeing that these cars go for less than 8k in 2021 if their auto transmission haven’t gone out yet I don’t think it’s worth it.
For sure - and if we're being honest I actually recommend people not to buy the hardware from me. Many people get away with spending $450-650 on their entire upgrade by picking parts themselves out of a junkyard. I've got another video with the full rundown of what to pull and from what cars to help make it easier for everyone. I do agree with your sentiment on the Auto transmission however. Complete trash. Most of my customers are ST and Zetec owners with manual transmissions.

Most of the times when something involves a laptop and multiple steps/uploads, at some point you will get an error that nobody knows how to solve and you end up with a bricked car just because you wanted a new navi ...
Not the case. As long as you stay within the APIM and ACM modules you can't really hurt anything

You could go ham in it and then just go online and download YOUR vehicles asbuilt and back to square one!
You're right though, there's people out there that can't follow this very clear step by step no doubt! Some people you can write it out in crayon for them and they will still stare at you like a deer in headlights! That's because the lights are on and nobodies home!) sigh....... How did those people make it this far? 😂

Mainly for the bad trans issues but for the most part it's the same process just use the trim tool to pop off the shift boot and lift the whole trim piece up and around it

@@NaviUpgrade I've a 2016 Focus SE 2.0 GDI engine 58600 miles . Think I'll have some problems with transmission? I was there at dealer for a recall issue and he told me that transmission had a " known issue". Still barely under warranty for now.. That dealer scheduled me to get it fixed but last minute he canceled.. He said that of the two techs one was on vacation the other called in. Oh well

Hey another quick question? Does buying a Non-Nav vs Nav Sync 3 matter? If I have the FAKRA GPS Module does it convert a non Nav to a Nav?

I'm really struggling to find that exact facia. Don't suppose you have the part number? Can't see it anywhere nor on your write up. Or, Is there a way to sway the dual buttoned fascia to a single one? I would lose the ability to control the central locking though.

I've got a 2016 Ford transit connect xle with what appears to be the same system. The only thing I can see different is the okay button. Is there a kit or something to swap it out? I hate it. The back up cam doesn't even work most the time

NaviUpgrade Haven’t heard anything yet! 🤷🏼♀️ Hopefully I hear back soon, just dropped her off at the dealer so they can check that one Trans control module recall since she’s an auto. This’ll be a great excuse to manual swap it though if the trans is trashed haha

So I attempted to swap the stereo from the 4” to something similar to what you have in the video but the glare was mad it looked awesome at night but during the day I couldn’t see a thing. It last 12 hours and it got removed and sent back to supplier. Where do I find the stereo in the video and how much please?

Yea you could. For the camera would probably be like 80 dollars and you can install yourself

I’m a bit late to this video, but I just had a question about the hub in the center console. I want to do this swap for my 2013 SE and it’s equipped with seat heaters. If my memory is correct, the wiring harness for the seat heaters is in the same harness for the stock USB/AUX hub. What exactly do you do with the original wiring for the stock hub? Is there any change needed for it to not be plugged in? I know the harness is connected to a swing connector on the right side of the console. Do you just let the original stuff sit loose under the console?
Hey there sorry for the late reply. The seat heaters will be in the same loom but run on a separate circuit so installing a unit like this won't affect your heated seats. Just pop off the original hub and let the connector for it hang loose back there.
