I don't think this content was "cut" as much as it was from the Playstation version. I stumbled across these videos and knew for certain that I remembered playing all (or at least nearly all, 1998 was quite a while ago, damn I'm getting old...) of this content.
I was thinking the same thing as I had it on playstation one I remember falling asleep to the music In Town. Can't wait for d2 on switch tho nothing can match first time playing ps1 version
PlayStation Diablo have the very same quests the PC Diablo have. Diablo 1 have a total of 16 quests, 10 quests were cut from the final version, it was supposed to have a total of 26 quests. All cut quests would feature an own stage, so they were probably cut to free up disc space and save time. PlayStation Diablo have no more content than PC Diablo, even so, the PlayStation version is my favorite and I play a lot! Maybe you guess you played some cut quests because of the uncut similar ones like Butcher and Butcher's Chamber or Diablo and The Map of the Stars.

@@DarkLOREDash You're one of my favorite RUclipsrs when it comes to this Genre of Videos, your voice, your way with words, the subject matter, its all so soothing to my eyes and ears and my imagination haha, kind wish there was more lore to tackle when it comes to the Diablo series, it's nostalgic to me since I played Diablo 2 as a kid, but from what I've seen and know, Blizzard is stagnating and Diablo has been milked, your potential and skill is kinda wasted on it these days, maybe if Diablo 4 comes out new awesome content will come, but who knows if Diablo 4 lives up to the hype since Blizzard is basically becoming EA, maybe tackling some new games would be nice, I can't think of many right now but maybe Hollow Knight? Not sure. Too cartoony I guess.
I was prolly around 10 when i played through d1 the first time. I don't think ill ever forget how captivating and horrifying the game was. When you open the butchers door for the first time, and it looks like the walls are bleeding, just solid red. Bodies everywhere and he says fresh meat and just hauls ass at you way faster than you are. Then he hits you and sends you into a repeated FHR animation and you die. I did not sleep well that night.
Thank you for the wonderful job you did here. I think the content was cut to limit how high a character would be as Diablo was no match for many at the end of the original.
Seeing all this cut content makes me kind wanting to play it again, but it also makes me angry it feels like a third or more of game wasnt there when i played it with my humble 12Years old me who barely could speak and understand english because just started learning in school a year ago (i never understood a single word from Adria). It would atleast a little bit longer to play it . I remembered the vanilla Butcher to be harder for because instead knocking you away he pulled towards him with every strike making escaping/dodging much harder.
Its interesting horazon quest was kinda saved for 2. Even when in 2 Horazon is canonically dead and you are fighting a different wizard posing as him. Wonder why this quest was cut. Guess Blizzard wanted to keep Horazon as a lore piece and not literally appear in-game
They used the scrapped voice lines, but don't be mistaken - none of the actual content was hidden in the OG game. All of this was created by Belzebub modders. It's not fair to say "cut content" because it wasn't cut, it was never made.

Is it the Belzebub mod that reworked the quests a bit and added the quest around 43:00? Would you advise someone who never played the game to use this mod for a first let's play or would a vanilla run be more appropriate?
DevilutionX is the best way to play Diablo (and Hellfire). It doesn't add anything that wasn't in the actual game (aside from some QOL options that can even be disabled if you choose to do so). Belzebub is a big modification and all the "cut content" you see here was made by these modders, it's not magically "returned to the game". What they used were left over voice lines, but everything else they made. So definitely go DevilutionX route, it's the only true way to play the game nowadays.
Diablo 1 we have Griswald. When Diablo 5 comes out we’re have Shrek as the blacksmith saying, “AYE! What can I do for ya? Oh don’t mind him he’s my apprentice DONKEY!!!” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ok... Many of these you say came from modders, but... I swear I remember playing these levels and hearing many of the cutscenes you claim to have been cut. Perhaps I'm misremembering, but I've never modded D1 past the Hellfire expansion. Strange.
Diablo CD: holds a lot of unused dialogues and quests that could've been used in an amazing expansion pack to add a lot of gameplay value and lore. Sierra Logic: Let's throw it all away and create Theo Quest and Cow Quest, this is obviously what people want!
Wrong. Diablo had unused dialogue, yes, but not actual quests. This isn't "cut content", it's content that was never made. What you see here is content made by Belzebub modders. A lot of people here don't understand this fact. None of these quests were cut, they were simply never actualized. Theo and Cow quests however - are ACTUAL cut content. Hidden in Hellfire. Easily activated, yes, but still CUT.
@@mouthmw When I said quests, I didn't mean that so technically, I said like "the quests were 50% here because we already have the NPC dialogues, they should only have to build the levels" The quests Sierra did make and has hidden are all quests that don't add value to make the game any better, it was a good try, but if they focused on finishing all the ideas not used for Blizzard, they could have make a better expansion.
@@julianofs6041 The quests most certainly were not 50% here, as nothing was created aside from abandoned voice lines. Time constraints for Hellfire were extreme and they weren't allowed to do almost anything (you can read about it). They did the best they could with what they had available. They even used left over voice lines for the quest "Grave Matters", so in a way, they did build a quest around that. It's a different quest than what Belzebub devs did with those lines, sure, but it was their take on it. They majorly pissed Blizzard off when it was found out about the hidden quests and hidden MP option.
@@mouthmw To me, if there's voice lines, it is enough to say that 50% of it was there, again, not technically, because it already says the intention of it to exists, and the only thing left was build a level around it, like most unoficcial modders did. As far as I know, the only restriction was not been able to be played online multiplayer. And if they used some voice lines for a quest, they have no excuse to didn't have used all or most of them.
@@DarkLOREDash based on unused NPC speeches from Diabdat.mpq. First pack of quests was implemented in 2012-2013: Izual, Fleshdoom, Lost Treasure, Cellar, Andariel, Sunless Sea, Horazon. In 2020 quest Rampaging Demon was added. And this February, a whole pack of the remaining quests was implemented: Locked Chest, Special Weapon, Demon in the Town, Visions of Victory, Demon Plague, Iron Figurine, Good Deal, Strange Book, A Simple Task.
@@DarkLOREDash Both of these are technically mod quests. Creating quests from left over voice lines (and nothing more) is still creating mod quests. Don't mistake "content that was never made" for "cut content".
These were never made though. Belzebub modders created them from scrapped voice lines. So CD data size has nothing to do with it. These were never made.
This is Belzebub Mod, fan made. Restores the quest/voice lines, have fan made dungeons to try to recreate the experience of doing this quests and adds some Diablo 2 features.
There wasn't any substantial cut content in the original game. Cut voice lines yes, but the stuff you see here was made by modders. It's not "restored content". It's made up from scraps.
@@mouthmwIn that case , its still incredible how much they worked on this mod and improved the game with it What few scraps of content can create such great mod .

I downloaded the mod you posted on the 4 hour lore video its awesome. I was just wondering there is no save on that mod instead it says return to village after you die. How do you save it like before?
Wow. Just wow. I played D1 when it first released. I wasn't even into pc games, but I was visiting a friend who was playing it, and it lured me in. I was in middle school. I would play this into the late hours of the night, in the dark, with headphones, facing the corner with the entirety of our home behind me while nobody was home. The atmosphere of this game has never been touched by another dark/horror game - not even close. This "restored" content is beautiful, namely the treasure trove of voice work. Thank you for putting this together.
It's not "restored". It's made. By modders. This is content that was never originally made. All they had to work with were scrapped voice lines and a Butcher cutscene. Don't mistake this for restored content.

I think the treasure quest should start once you pick up the map. It makes no sense the town mentions a map when you didn't have it yet
Awesome man this games amazing: the regular release, Hellfire, and the cut content! You're awesome for posting it all
My pleasure, cheers!
Amazing the academic level of English language, sparking and eloquent set of words and phrases...Looks like, man I need throughly take a look into it, I'm amused how you commented the very quests of the game, my cordial commendation. You added more dye into this picture. Thanks a lot!!!
Thank you, Andrei - You are too kind!
I was going to say the same thing! Perfect narrative, it's like an audio book :)
pepin on that permanent panic attack
Lol
Really enjoyed watching this video, cheers!
As always, my pleasure!
Very well done, cheer up! Thank you!
Your narration gives sanctuary a whole new level of depth and I love it. That being said, Gloryhorn the Boner just has me rolling.
Thank you!
dont know if its a coincidence or you do it, but thank you for placing the ads at good break points. my pet peeve is when the ad cuts in the middle of what you are explaining.
you gained a like and a sub based on just that!
i should also add, i enjoyed this video and a few others, great content, never knew these quests where in the game, how you are playing them is beyond me, id like to figure it out and boot this up again!
An hour long compilation of Dash Lore videos? noice 😎👌 just like Oxhorn during my Fallout phase a few years back, I like to sleep while listening to your videos.
Thanks so much Anton!
Haha how do you manage to sleep while taking in info?
Dude, I will never forget your vids
Wow, thats very humbling!
Wow, so many ideas that they ended up using for Diablo 2
I was prolly around 10 when i played through d1 the first time. I don't think ill ever forget how captivating and horrifying the game was. When you open the butchers door for the first time, and it looks like the walls are bleeding, just solid red. Bodies everywhere and he says fresh meat and just hauls ass at you way faster than you are. Then he hits you and sends you into a repeated FHR animation and you die. I did not sleep well that night.
Thank you for the wonderful job you did here. I think the content was cut to limit how high a character would be as Diablo was no match for many at the end of the original.
That may be so! Though they could technically jack his stats. Maybe they wanted a bunch for the sequel
How was possible for the modders to find all these missing quests? It's really amazing, they even has the dialog's executed by the same actors.
They were on the disc, but not implemented into the game.
Isn't amazing to think that all these gems were always there, hidden in that game disc?
They used the scrapped voice lines, but don't be mistaken - none of the actual content was hidden in the OG game. All of this was created by Belzebub modders. It's not fair to say "cut content" because it wasn't cut, it was never made.
Hey bro, really takes me back in time with all quests, and more. Thank you. If you loved this, will you consider playing Throne of Darkness? I know it's a late comment, but if you really loved this, you may love that too :) I personally love it so much. The developers are similar, so: Dark endings ftw! :D Cheers
How interesting! Thanks for uploading!
You're content is super good. I really enjoy the story telling approach you take.
Thank you!!
May i know what does the person with the heavysack in the town doing? Can be talked with? Provide extra quests? Sell loot?
Loot & I ignored cus only for the mod vs original cut content, to my knowledge
The best and only one! The original Diablo!
These mods makes me wanna play OG Diablo again
What the f-k kind of amazing quests is this? Like shadowfang and Tremain. I agree about the dialogue!
Tremaine is a missed addition!
@@DarkLOREDash yeah I fit that but it really should have been a quest in the original game, that was disturbing 0__0
Thank u for taking the time for make this awesome vid, love all the time you put in too do all your vids, really love your stuff
*got that not fit that haha damn autospell
Stick it to the two guys giving thumbs down!! This is awesome!
Really enjoying this !!!
Just a thought. Why don't you send your resume or portfolio to Audio book recording companies ???
I love diablo id watch anything about d1 that you made
This is a great video! There a chance there is a video like this for Diablo 2?
Thanks! Unfortunately, there's no real cut quest content like this for D2
So much hatred for d3 but it was my first step into the series and now I love it so can't be that bad? Live the video man!
What version of Diablo is he playing that shows Damage and XP? I legit still have the CD from 1996 and play if off there...
he mentions the mod. They found lots of data on the original CD that led to this mod being developed. Bezelabul mod or something. You can download it from this video
53:00
"overrun by the Burning LegionS :DdDdd"
funny guy
The Diablo lore is a must l, I would love for you to check out or do some commentary to ‘Deus Ex’ 2000. Such a great cyberpunk/ dystopian game, way before it’s time :) keep up the good work!!
If Gillian is a girl, why does she see the lights??
My Lord Dash, you Just after ask me about the Bishop, the the video
I shall :P
If you Want to play D1 HD with all content and D2 features, here is the DL link mod.diablo.noktis.pl/
also has a quest guide.
i grew up on diablo, played them all and beat them all, cant wait for the new one, i have the dlc for diablo 1 coming in the mail, my only deal is i feel they made diablo 3 easier than the 1st two but just my opinion
I wonder, what would have happened if you use that Demonblade??
Watching this got me to reinstall Diablo 1. So thanks XD. imma go back and watch your D2 content now.
Great job!
@@mouthmw Alright thanks for the info !
And is it the one used in the video?
I realized that it wasn't Belzebub, it changes quite some stuff indeed
🤣"sage wisdom 4 a boy staring into a crack of HELL!!!👍
@@mouthmw When I said quests, I didn't mean that so technically, I said like "the quests were 50% here because we already have the NPC dialogues, they should only have to build the levels"
The quests Sierra did make and has hidden are all quests that don't add value to make the game any better, it was a good try, but if they focused on finishing all the ideas not used for Blizzard, they could have make a better expansion.
Great stuff
Hey Dash, in which game was the ambience and atmosphere the superior to you? 1 or 2?
"The Hell 3" mod has 9 more quests recreated
Legit cut quests or mod quests 🤔
A shame cd's could only fit so much data. I like many of these quests more than the ones that made the cut.
These were never made though. Belzebub modders created them from scrapped voice lines. So CD data size has nothing to do with it. These were never made.
I see quest markers over npcs, stashes with tabs, orange recipes for belts, how the fuck do you get all this in Diablo 1??
This is Belzebub Mod, fan made. Restores the quest/voice lines, have fan made dungeons to try to recreate the experience of doing this quests and adds some Diablo 2 features.
Amazing Work 👍
Thank you!
love the long vid
Can you do a full gameplay video with Diablo 1?I mean like you did with the cut content or with Diablo 2 ?
Definitely
@@DarkLOREDash Yesss! Thank you! Godspeed pilgrim, godspeed.
They should do a reforged D1 with all cut quests and cinematic included.
There wasn't any substantial cut content in the original game. Cut voice lines yes, but the stuff you see here was made by modders. It's not "restored content". It's made up from scraps.
@@mouthmwIn that case , its still incredible how much they worked on this mod and improved the game with it
What few scraps of content can create such great mod .
i know this place....
This was the original and in my opinion the best in the game franchise. D1 was so dark, horror driven and openly satanic it lasts in my memory as one of the best games I've ever played.
Don't mistake this for restored content.
just had to realize how distracting those floating dmg and exp numbers are...
Man, next time just do Poisoned Water Supply quest in a meantime. I can't stand that Tristram inhabitants don't have access to fresh water and their well looks like urine.
Wish they would do a mod to readd cut content in 2
Yeah, I came back to watch the whole thing again. What? Ya wanna fight about it?
