When he passed away, a big part of our American culture died with him.
Passed away. Suicide is not the same as natural causes.
@@rustykoehler2789 I know, I was being respectful to his family.
As a native American, I can say with a gut of courage that, his morals, we didn't just lose american culture. We lost humanity. He is a golden person. Someone nobody can do wrong in learning from.

People don't care about morals like the old days.
We’re still out there
It’s called systematic demoralization.
The Facist and Communist did it and it goes on across the world today. By destroying society’s morals, you separate them, divide them, and make them easier to control and manipulate.
@@NASkeywest And It all originates from a Post-Modern indoctrination which started heavily around the Millennial Generation. You start with innocent things, like the Arts (Music, Artwork, Movies Etc.) Then it begins to propagate into every other aspect of life.

God bless ol Popcorn.....I miss him..good ol boy....hell of a man and moonshiner, great stories and wisdom....Shame what the government did to him....He ain't ever hurt anybody.....
The world definitely went to hell in a hand basket. Everything these days is subject to definition. There’s no longer right or wrong. People are left to define what’s right or wrong the way it suits them. R.I.P Popcorn! Legendary.
Yep. That really is the biggest issue facing our world today. There is no clear line between right and wrong these days. No moral compass exists anymore. Everything is "okay" as long as it isn't directly harming anyone, but no one seems to care about the indirect impact certain actions or ideologies have on people. That's really what is crumbling society as we speak.
People these days are materialistic consumers , all most people care about is money and the useless junk you buy with it.
People thinking more is a good thing. What is right or wrong if it's not based in rigor and truth?
@@cgvapors963 Not harming others is a pretty decent standard.
Man!!!, U ain't never lied! That's why I need to remember his sayings, "the few there are", (2:04) "I can haul what few there are in a Volkswagen and it won't be crowded!🤣...that was a good one!

Ol Popcorn was one of a kind. I wish I could've met him and passed a jar back a forth for a bit. He is damn right about people nowadays. The people you can trust in todays world is a very short one indeed.
On a sidenote, whenever I take a few sips of shine is it normal for a burp to be like fire haha
You only need one hand to count the people you can trust.
RIP Popcorn you were one of a kind !!! ♥️
Knowledge! I love the older generation (which I'm quickly becoming)
My grandmother's maternal family was from slashbranch KY they were mountain people and spoke mountain language the kindness most moral people you could ever meet my Grandfather he loved the banjo picking and get down with the mountain people maybe a little bit from a flask but no drugs and worked hard his entire life...He wasn't a man of many words but meant what he said when he did talk. I miss them everyday and see why I love them so much bcuz they loved us despite our hardships and brought humor and caring even when life got tough. Popcorn has these same values and is a shame we live in such a mixed world now. Both my Grandparents tell you they didn't know what the word bored meant as children as there was always work to be done and surely their parents even instilled these values in them both. I love you and miss you all
It's called mind you're own damn buissness and own up to you're responsibility. Go popcorn rip.
RIP Popcorn. Wisdom in its truest form. Mans man!
That's the way I was raised. You word was gold. Today people lie with every breath.
The real deal, last of the old time mountain man. R.I.P. Popcorn
Wisdom right here. Shame he's passed on. World could learn alot from this man. Be at peace with God Popcorn. 🙏
I would have loved to get drunk with Popcorn on his moonshine...
His stuff was easy on the gut. That crap they sell in stores with his name on it is piss waterdowned junk. Just to appease the revenuers for legality. I had his original stuff one time straight from him. Damn good too. Tried the store stuff they have now and bought choked. Not even wood fired. What a shame. He would turn over in his grave knowing that.
Eric I got two fruit jars of hes shine I drank half of one watchin TV my wife came out and said are you coming to bed ? I said NO! She said why I said I can't stand up ... to this day I still got the other jar it's been years.
John Harris I still have about 1/4 jar left it came from the Rock House over by Newport. (Rock house didn’t mean crack house or cocaine house it was a house made of mountain stone for those not from the area)
John Harris you wouldn’t happen to be the same John Harris that owned Mountain Glass in Sevierville??
This man was a truly amazing! So sad what happened.... R.I.P. Popcorn..
God bless that man and rest his soul. He held that middle finger up till his last breath. Losing him was a tragedy to this country like so many others from his time. Our grandparents would not stand or allow all that we do these days.
He’s such a legend .... you are missed sir ♥️
We miss you old man, spread your wisdom to those beyond the grave
Shit Damn! I am 71 Years old and Bought this CD when it First was available when I lived in San Juan Capistrano. I growed up in Boone County Arkansas amongst people exactly like him: a moonshiner learned me to Make a Crow Speak and to Cook & Fix 'Squirrel Soup" and "Bleeding a Pig." How important Cane Sorghum Molasses was in Cooking Swine Meat.
What an amazing man! He certainly was the last of his breed! How privileged it must be to of known this man!
I've known a few, (and I'm sure if I was referring to the type of people Popcorn was referring to likewise it would be very few, however in the part of the world he's from by comparison it would be many,) people like Popcorn Sutton. He is an inspiration, and it saddens me so much to know how he went out. Remember, be careful who you vote for. The more power Government has the easier it is for them to take your freedom, and your life..
"Freedom's just another word for nothin left to lose,it ain't nothin, ain't nothin honey if it ain't free!" - Janis Joplin -
Ohh how times have changed
I could listen to this man talk all day
If you don't like this there's something wrong with you
That’s true Country folk I grew up in a small town in Florida in the 3rd poorest town it was an agricultural town .And I knew folk like him my family was like him It boils down to how you were raised. A lot of people don’t have much more than there word. And it’s still a bond in some places in America. They may not be book smart but they are Life smart and sometimes that’s all you need! I’ve been around highly educated people and some don’t have a lick of common sense.
I couldn't agree more
A type of man that will never be seen again.
Charles M Rinehart not true either.. These type of men are still alive and well at the top of many hollers throughout Kentucky,West Virginia, Virginia,Tennessee,Mississippi and others.
A Law Breaker and a Coward.....he broke the Law for years and once caught he took the Coward way out....he was a Real man .....LMAO....
LR Lapua Popcorn Sutton lived his life the way he wanted. I doubt he would have gone out the way he did. A man in his 60s looking at spending the next 30yrs in prison thinks different, If you was going away to prison for the rest of your life would you think about it. I can't say that would be my first choice but where the heck you gonna go when you're old.
Pretty sure there have always been and always will be similiar people doing the exact same thing Popcorn did. Yes he was a character but don't act like there arent thousands of people doing this exact same thing right now lol.
@@resilient4637 May want to get your facts straight before you try to make a point, Popcorn wasnt facing "30yrs in prison" he was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Knowing how it used to be, can create our better tomorrow. Thx Popcorn
I loaned a "friend", from high school, after we'd graduated, a twenty...this was '69. He obviously had no intention of paying me back, cause every time I saw him coming from then on, he'd peel off another direction. Not long after I was drafted and he, I believe, joined the navy. That was some of the best money I ever spent, never troubled by him again.
Better to fine out sooner than later.
I'm on the way popcorn ! hold on I'm comin' son.
This is a man who lived in an honest world and took care of himself making an honest living and somehow the government saw him as a Criminal
It's the gov't that are the damn criminals
They should be ashamed what they did to you...you are an icon..no truer words spoken."The world has gone to hell in a handbasket"....✌✌!!
I miss POPCORN so much! A TRUE HELL RAISIN GENTLEMAN! MOONSHINER!!!
Like he says. A true gentleman. Through and through
He's damn right....I've loaned all these "friends" money, and never saw a goddam dime of it back. They ain't no friends of mine no more.
If someone has to borrow money that means they aint got it to give back
No there's a difference between loaning borrowing and lending
He more or less told it like it is. I was not born until 1950 and I knew very few people who's word was worth a dang. I have a few good friends that when they tell you something you can carry it to the bank but for the most part Popcorn was right when he said he could carry most of the honest folks in a vw and it wouldn't be crowded. I never heard of Popcorn until a few days ago but I've known men like him all over this country. None of them were saints!
He was one of a kind I know he will be missed .I think he will be the last Legend in the moonshiner world , a lot harder than it used to be My Uncle would haul moonshine form the hills to my home place East
Out of everything on you tube this video is my favourite thank you Popcorn.
love this guy and I'm sure he's seen so many changes. people seem like they were more polite and respectful back then.
That's because they were.
I am the same as This Man. I was Brought up to take a man at his Word. What was said you could trust that man for. But a lot of people i ran across in my time you could not. I never keep't close with them either.
because real men do not exist any longer!!Just fu$k boys !
U so right Popcorn! My Granny Margaret always said, "All u have is your word! Your word will take u a long way especially in a small town like this one! If u don't have your word, u don't have nothing!" Too bad this younger generation and people today aren't more like Popcorn was!
I can remember going to the bank as a child and watching my mama and Daddy borrow and never sign any paperwork. They gave their word . I remember it like it was yesterday.
Old souls will live forever..
“I can haul all of em in a Volkswagen.. and it won’t be crowded!” Haha, if you get it, you get it 😂
💯 truth popcorn is a real man 💯💪🏿!.
Hard life! Good guy!
R.I.P Popcorn Sutton, we love you, from Morocco!
Should've just left him alone and let him make liquor
If he’d been like the Clintons, Bushes, and Obamas and was killing by the thousands they’d left him alone but since he didn’t subscribe to the One-World ideology he had to go. One thing the Feds hate is a man who really just wants to be free and be left alone to live as he sees fit. Globalism And Liberalism are the two greatest threats to freedom in America. May God raise up another generation that’s not willing to sell their souls to that garbage.
