Getting mine this Sunday. Thanks for the review! Upgrading from a Vizio SB4051 that is close to 8 years old and it just stopped working. I was very happy with it and bass was solid. I hope this one exceeds my expectations. I have never experienced Atmos in my life so I'm ready to be blown away. Now I just need a 75" OLED haha
I badly wanted an above average sounding home theater with Atmos that would be easy to set up and easy to take out in case I’ve to move out. (I’m a student and live in a rental apt.). Elevate seemed like a perfect package for me especially as I loved Bass and I wanted to experience Dolby Atmos at home. I just ordered it on Amazon for $799. Your awesome review played a significant role in my decision. Thank you so much. 🙂👍🏻
I picked this up for $799 (cheapest I could find recently), and I have to admit it's pretty spectacular. I had the old 4251 5.1 and it was awesome, but the 8" subwoofer on this with the 30hz frequency is pretty amazing. That said, I think the 4251 soundbar itself had a more full sound that I like better than this, but not by much.
Hi, I have this sound bar too. Could you please post what sound settings you used? I'm not sure if I'm doing mine right but it doesn't sound like I'm getting good sound. Subwoofer is great. Sound feels off and the dialogue in most movies is low. Thank you
@@cratty16 Check your effects settings and make sure Surround is on and Night Mode is off. I noticed mine was lacking a bit initially and it turned out I inadvertently turned night mode on. Also, if you're getting more sub than dialogue, lower the sub volume a bit. Best sound is going to come from the eArch HDMI input, but make sure you have an eArch HDMI cable. For my settings I turned treble up to almost 75-77% full, left Mid where it was, and bumped bass up to about 60%. Sounds really good. Hope this helps!
Mine is showing up tonight! Upgrading from my LG SK9Y, which is a great soundbar, but the subwoofer is underwhelming at low volumes, the sub can make big sound at high volumes. You just confirmed what I wanted to hear, the subwoofer is banging.
@@TheHugginMonkey625 Ha, there's too much to put in a RUclips comment but I quite like the Vizio Elevate; however I'm in the process of getting it replaced due to having a seemingly defective subwoofer where the audio cuts out intermittently. That's the biggest issue I've had with my unit-everything else has pretty great so far, from build quality to sound quality. Hard to say how it'll sound in your room but you'll definitely will want to tune the audio settings for your particular room after you get it set up and adjust until it sounds its best to your ears. The Vizio SmartCast app has had some clunkiness and buginess with the most annoying issue making it so the soundbar becomes unable to be powered off through the remote or app forcing the power cable to be unplugged but I did see they've been updating the app a lot in the past week so maybe that issue is fixed now. Best Buy has been a bit difficult to work with getting it replaced since it's been sold out so much over the past few weeks with the sales they've had on it for Black Friday week/month but I'm hoping my replacement unit is in a 👌 state with no hardware issues. I expect the firmware to get more updates/polish as time goes on and the soundbar can be updated through the SmartCast app after you connect the soundbar to your Wi-Fi. Def recommend you update the firmware unless you feel like there are no issues with your unit's performance.
Amaizing!! .. Have you had any connection problems with the speaker or update the system ?... then since you have bought the product is it recommended or what do you think? I'm crazy to buy mine
My 2018 model Vizio Atmos was $1k. By luck I grabbed it for $700 during the holidays. They did the same with the Elevate this past holiday season, but were continuously sold out throughout all retailers.
Great review 👍🏻. I’m waiting for it to drop to $700. The music playlist you used for the sound test is super amazing. Can you please share the link? Or the channel name?
Do you keep volume leveler on and do you find that it's very low unless you put the volume very high? Nice review. Just wanted to know how loud you had the system on your test?
Great review! Quick question. What settings do you recommend for the movies eq? I know what I like for music but not sure what is the best setting for movies. Many thanks!
Good question. Since there is no setup mic to get the sound levels equal you need a spl decimal meter app for your phone. Run the speaker test from your normal movie watching position. Open the spl decimal meter app and get the speaker levels equal. I like to go a little higher for the surround and height speakers. I also like the treble and bass to be maxed out. Have fun.
I think you can set the bar WiFi itself for the frequency you want if your provider provides multiple ones. My iPhone and TV are set for a different frequency than my bar and PS are.
So my normal home theater setup is still the king here. From my 12” Bic America F12 subwoofer to my Onkyo 787. There is just so much headroom with the 787 on the power front. With me saying all this the Elevate is the best sound bar that I have tested so far and closest to making me switch to the sound bar life.
I have the vizio elevate connected to my xbox One X and that is connected to my Sony 65 inch that only has ARC. Since the soundbar is connected to the Xbox One X which supports Dolby Atmos and DTX I have no issues playing that content even if the TV itself doesn't support it. I lose Atmos if I connect directly to the TV. So if I have an Atmos receiver, Xbox One X or PlayStation and connect to it, you will be the full benefits of the soundbar.
@@zTxETERNAL so will I run into an issue if I use one of the hdmi ports for my Apple TV since that’s were I stream all my stuff and my Xbox is just for gaming? And with eARC to ARC will my sound features just be toned down?
@@tontone86 The Vizio Elevate has two HDMI in ports and an eARC out port so you should be fine. *Just plug the HDMI Out from the Xbox to the HDMI In 1 or 2 on the soundbar. *Do the same with the Apple TV. *Plug the apple TV into the remaining HDMI in port on the soundbar. *Last step. Plug the HDMI cable on eARC on the soundbar and into the TV's ARC. This one is way better in all aspects. The older model had a 10 inch sub but that doesn't mean it sounds better. This one has an 8 inch sub but it hits loud and hard and doesn't drown out any of the vocals like the old one did. I've had this soundbar since day one and its way better than the previous model in every way. Plus it's at $699 right now on BestBuy. Can't go wrong with that

Absolutely in love with this sound bar. I am addicted to watching movies and shows with it on my 75 inch QLED TV.

Returned 2. The 2 rear speakers height channels crackle on both sets I bought.
That's coming from WiFi interference. You have to change the frequency channel on your router.
