Something i think is hilarious is the comparison between obsidian shards and laurels, because they ALREADY HAVE A CONVERSION RATE OF 1 LAUREL TO 1 OBS SHARD (or 3 for 3), but in the AA market, laurels are 5x cheaper lol

@@mauridelaguila7032 Don't know if you found the answer already but its the other way around. You can get 3 Obs Shards for 3 Laurels but not Laurels for Ops Shards. Btw NEVER get obs shards with Laurels. You can get them for Karma and Laurels are too valuable.

The items are good depending on where a player is in the journey. When I first started the game I would've killed to have more revive orbs because I used to die a lot

Imo you cant only put S tier items into an exchange like that. Its just natural to put bad stuff in there too.
Imagine there are always 20 s tier Items with a cost of 1000 astral acclaim, rotating every 3 month but you can only get like 4000 astral acclaim in these 3 month.
That means you can never have all s tier items. Because there is always new s tier stuff.
People would outrage and demanding to get more astral acclaim. (Greed)
So its just natural that its balanced like this.
As a casual pve player I love that transmutation charges are here because the only way I was getting them was through 100% map completion and the monthly daily login and I change my characters appearance a lot. I never buy them on the gemstore because of how ridiculously overpriced they are

That being said, I am mostly a casual pve player and I've got hundreds of them stacked up, but I'm also crazy and have done over 5 world completions (and only ever crafted 1 legendary weapon so far... lol so I have the world completion tokens for future ones covered!)
Meanwhile, as a WvW player, I have 234 transmutation charges and are always annoyed whenever I get them because I hardly change my appearance lol.

2:30 lol exactly. My storage is full with Obsidian Shards so I leave a growing stack in my bag, when it overflows I throw the full stack away and back it goes on growing again - rinse and repeat.
I would like to see Equipment Templates for the next iterations of the Vault.
I obviously don't have actual numbers, but I would be staggered if Revive Orbs saw any kind of significant sale in the gem shop. All of the ones I have were from the odd Black Lion chest from the various key drops, and the old Back Lion Goods login reward. I've never bought one straight.
if ANet made a 'recharging Revive Orb' like they have with the Teleport to Friend, I think they'd see sales of it, though. Give me a free revive every 1-3 hours or something? That might see some use for when I get full downed in a meta or the like.

For everyone's information, you don't have to gamble for mystic clovers anymore I believe. In wizard's tower, Lhyr actually sells Mystic Clovers for 3 Mystic Coins, 3 obsidian shards, 5 Ecto, 3 Spirit Shards each.
Yeah, it's actually slightly more expensive than gambling on average (2 ecto extra per clover). Definitely pretty nice though, I'd still get em from vault and weeklies because it's so cost efficient.
Not only Lyhr but every Mystic Forge NPC sells them with this recipe. Hovewer, unlike Lyhr, clover from them are limited weekly.
But since you do get around 1 clover for per 3 coins anyway at the forge, the additional drops you get there make it way more valuable.
The ascended armor and weapon chests have the added benefit of being a good ball of dark energy retrieval if you are as unlucky as I am with ascended items
if u salvage armor or weps then the droprate is 100% no luck needed.

The 90 gold at 6AA is a replacement for the change in gold value for completing a daily.
It's still a very good choice, but be aware that this replaces a loss from the old daily system.
But you are still getting 1g from the daily quest chest

It follows that the "cheap" gold is a replacement.

I chose Bolt and with some Gold i borrowed from my Sister i made it in 2 Days 😅
Its my first Legendary and im glad Soto made it happen haha 😊
If you were patient you could sell it and make another legendary.

i like the cheap 90 gold, since it's the other 1g we used to get for daily. I do wish they'd change the vault a bit though for collecting, having to click a bazillion times to max out the options just feels not needed. Also like how since most of it is liquid gold it feels like we make more money now then we did with previous log in rewards. I do feel the cost of some things will come down in future, and price of others will go up, specially since we earn about 1k AA per week and not a lot of stuff to buy once you have most of it.
You have put extractor in the C tier is Crazy. Reason being I had Sigel of torment that was selling for 17 gold plus on item that i no longer use and got that back which in turn saved me all that gold!!
But you could have used a Black Lion kit to do that or an ascended salvage tool. If you don't need the item any more extractors are a bad choice.
the upgrade extractor is pretty good, depending on the sigil you can save 5 - 15 gold by not having to buy a new one (like the currently often used sigil of doom, bursting, malice, torment and renewal) and the only other ways to get them is with BL statuettes or through the gemstore. Those should be in high B, probably even A imo
by your logic the vision crystal is a good value as long as you need it for something specific and aren't swimming in extra ascended weapons to salvage. (saving 20 spirit shards for 150 vs buying 20 tombs for 160). empyreal fragments are also used in a lot of consumable recipes. I wouldn't say noob tier i would say niche tier for them.

I think you are pretty spot on. I got the OMEGA stuff right off the bat. Love the griffin skin... now working my way through A tier (Dont need Asc gear as Im track for lege items and not gona get the template for moral reasons) Ill prob get the sandals at some point for a specific fashion... but really once I get all the valuable stuff... Ill just spam 30 gold until reset. Great evaluation.

@@rolf1819 yes... I absolutely hate the way that they handled templates in this game. No reason at all why they should have been monetised. However they were... I can live with that... but the decision to make them soulbound was the ultimate insult.
I got 13 characters. Have spent thousands of real world pounds to upgrade my account in various ways. I have a clear and specific goal for my account. I want all my chars to be on even foot. To this end I bought them all their own harvest tools... tons of shared slots. Im making full lege account so they can all enjoy top tier specs and ultimate qol.
The templates are a serious glass ceiling with me. If I have to pay... I want to pay for account bound tier templates so all characters I have will upgrade together. I dont want to have some classes with more or less. Thats my OCD.
Honestly.. If they made an acc bound tier of templates... Id prob max out the system over time. A full lege account only has real value if you have an abudance of templates. On the other side... I wont spend a penny on their soulbound shit... not even like this.
Now Anet is putting so much development into build diversity. Yet it is all locked behind a hideously expensive pay wall. Out of principle I just wont engage. I find as an 11 year customer who has voluntarily spent lots of money with them with the specific desire to help fund their project... It feels like a real slap in the face. Sure lots of people have just bent over to this system... therefore its likely to continue.
If I ever want to expand a class I make a new character. I do this anyway for creative reasons. Makinga new character provides exponentially more value than paying for a shitty UI unlock.
Thats my view... I know many people disagree or are too ashamed to agree because they have already sold out... but this is how I feel. My money is my own and Ill choose to spend it or not on what I feel right with. The same goes for AA.. that doesnt cost money but my time which is a much more valuable commodity to me.

I'd argue Vision Crystal can be worth it for someone new wanting to finish the Caladbolg Achievement to get an Ascended weapon and hasn't touched crafting.

You're actually correct.
The Vision Crystals are worth at least 5 silver per Astral Acclaim, but only if you intend on needing them for something.
That value is based entirely off the Spirit Shards it takes to make a Vision Crystal.
Gonna wanna get your crafting up at one point or another. Crafting is necessary for a lot of collections & achievements
T5 crafting bags should be priced at 10 AA or less because you could spend 10AA for a laurel and then buy the T5 bag if you really wanted them. Same with upgrade extractors at 30 since that's the laurel exchange and 30 for obsidian (3 laurels for 1 obsidian).
T5 crafting bag should be priced at 4.
T6 crafting bag is priced at 8 ... T5 crafting is priced at 40...
Transmutation charges seem worthless, until you realise there is no free influx from logins so new players won't accrue them passively. I think thi tier list is pretty on the mark
Completing any map exploration (all vistas ; renownn hearts ; hp ; wp ; and poi) usually yields one (or a black lion key if you are "unlucky")
Very nice list and agree on almost everything with some situational changes I'd make cause I'm hard in the leggy grind :P
One thing I do disagree with, and this is very subjectiv, are the weapon skins :) i really love the look of those, even though they are a bit expensive 😢
Infinite build storage can be created with a simple text editor. Cut the build from game chat and paste it into a text editor, then reverse the process to paste a build from your text document back into the game. Builds are nothing more than bracketed text.
Now that Tomes of KNowledge is a thing sold in Wizards Vault, anet really needs to add the quality of life of CONSUME ALL to them

Hey there, do we know if we can carry our 'left over' astral acclaim to the "next season" or will it reset to zero, so that we should spend it before the reset?
the ascended wep n armor box need a ritualists stats version option. I bought 1 of each n didn't know it didn't have that option.
This might change day-to-day, but the current spirit shard to gold conversion puts tome of knowledge between mystic coin and bag of laurels in terms of gold value (however you do need to spend some time doing the material conversion recipe in the forge). But by that logic, it's solidly A-tier.
I do consider permanent account upgrades useful. The gold drop thingy isn't much, but then again, you get more than enough AA anyway.
Can the ascended gear still reset to any stat through mystic forge? I'm guessing yes, but anet isn't always consistent with game design.
As someone who has a ton of builds for all different options (wvw, pvp,pve) i like the build storage.
But ofc after all other nice stuff

Me thought exactly. Teapot is probably right that it IS a noob trap and that it that it will never yield you the 33gold you can get by spending those 1k AA on direct gold, but I'm still willing to fall for it :D
Pretty much agree, but drop the shoulder skin down one, since is has only one dye channel while the other two skins have 3.
It is really nice to permanently have the option of being resurrected at the same position when doing a jp or some event without having to use a waypoint far away with the revive orb in the vault. Its my personal safety net for when I am too lazy to take an orb out of my bank or don't want to use inventory space. For me clearly A tier!
That's 3 gold you're using on a revive orb. JPs often have reset points and more often than not they displace you completely so that reviving doesn't matter. If u just equip a tanky build and have a position rewinder I don't see how this'd ever be worth it to buy just for that. And how far away are you ever really from a waypoint with the new and improved skyscale, griffon or beetle? Getting back to my previous location rarely takes more than 30 seconds in any map. You'd throw away 6g/min in value? Revive orbs are absolutely a noob trap. Teapot rated them too highly.
I'd be interested in knowing a scenario where you'd ever use these. Give me a place where you die on any map I bet I can be there in at least a minute.

A note on Lesser Essence of Gold:
These are a gamble to buy them, and they're a gamble to miss them.
If Arenanet ever do something about buffing the utility of Gold Find, then you will regret missing these.
Buying them right now as they are, they are such a waste.
I will personally be buying them because I have hope that the system will be reworked for them to be better utilized.
With my current choices in the priority here, I will have 3460 Astral Acclaim leftover; I'm buying all the Uniques(all weapon skins), all the Tradable Items, and the Gemstore Items.
Unique Skins & Emotes:
These are personal preference and should be top priority if you plan on eventually having them.
They will cost you extra if you miss them outside of the 77 day rotation.

4. Mystic Coin - 9 Astral Acclaim

- Build Template Expansion - 425 Astral Acclaim
This allows you to add an extra build template for an individual character, not to be confused with Build Storage expansion.
- Build Storage Expansion - 500 Astral Acclaim
If you play revenant(or plan on playing it) and you swap the default order of your utility skills you should buy these and use this system as a replacement for the Build Templates to avoid the bug where it swaps your skill order.
Other than that, they're mostly useless.

Ascended Items:
These items are valuable if you lack ascended gear or need additional pieces.
Please note that some items available are higher value than others in the selection, generally as such:
Weapon: Two-Handed > Main Hand > Off Hand
Armor: Chest > Leg > Head > Shoulder/Hand/Foot
- Ascended Armor Chests - 400 Astral Acclaim
- Ascended Weapon Chest - 600 Astral Acclaim
- Vision Crystals - 150 Astral Acclaim
These are good if you need them for crafting/other things, which would otherwise cost you 20 Spirit Shards to make.
2400 Astral Acclaim Total
Excess Astral Acclaim:
This section is meant for once you have completed purchasing everything you needed above.
10. Bags of Coins (1 Gold) - 30 Astral Acclaim
This is what you should aim to prioritize spending excessive Astral Acclaim on.
- Upgrade Extractors
If you can reliably use them to extract an item worth more than 1.33 gold from an item that you don't plan on salvaging with an ascended/black lion salvage kit, then - in that very niche scenario - these are worth buying.
It may be better to invest in an endless variant of this item, long-term.
- Transmutation Charges
If you run short on these, and don't want to acquire them in the many easy ways you can, then they are certainly worth buying.
Highly recommended not to purchase:
Overall really poor value items that are a waste of Astral Acclaim.
- Lesser Essence of Gold
As they currently stand, unless you plan on passing your account down as a family heirloom for multiple generations I would suggest against this.
- Revive Orbs
If you think buying these are worth it because you need to use them frequently, then I need to suggest against that.
If you are good at the game then you don't really need to use these, and if you're not very good at the game then chances are using these isn't going to help you that much anyway.
- Large Crafting Bags
Bad value.
- Essences of Luck
Bad value, literally in the decimals of a copper per Astral Acclaim.
- Obsidian Shards
Bad value, there are so many ways you can get these easily and save your Astral Acclaim.

Great Video Teapot - thanks. I think your Tier List aligns perfectly with mine for all but 1 item. Everything is relative to a person's play style of course, but for me; I moved the Clovers to the far left of the A-List. Not everyone needs them, but for those that don't do raids or enjoy WvW, they are harder to come by (other methods are time gated and still require mystic coins, so rather expensive).
Yeah I would definitely say quite a lot of A tier is situational, not fixed.
I think the reason for having only the core stats in the ascended armour and weapon chests was that some stats are restricted to expansions. They would've had to add in some convoluted logic to show different available stats for each player depending on which expansions they had. It wouldn't be hard to implement, but it could cause unnecessary confusion among players. So they went with the simplest solution, and players who want other stat combos can still stat swap the gear.
They should add a Lesser Essence of Drooburt that gives you a 2% ambiguity bonus account-wide next
You're definitely undervalueing the build storage imo, it's a build template usable on every character. I use those almost exclusively as opposed to the character bound templates, since I have a lot of characters of the same class for fashion/style purposes, that I mainly play in the same gamemode with the same builds. It's just a more flexible build template basically.
Also for some reason unlike build templates/equipment templates they never go on discount in the gemstore, so getting them there is even more value.
Your case is pretty unique I would say, I don't know many people who would level the same character over and drop their QoL just for a different gender/race
@@Shallaan Level isn't even relevant in PvP, also I have about 5.000+ Tomes of Kowledge stored and a full set of legendaries that can be shared by any char, so there is zero drop in QoL for me beside having to buy a few inventory bags. I don't think it's that rare among people that have played the game for 5-10 years, either, I am not a super rich baron or anything, just have a lot of playtime invested
over the years.

as always with these things a lot have to do with how someone likes to play the game. yes revive orbs arent that great but time is money and they may not want to waste time running back (esp if its somewhere without wp and hard to get to or fractals), or just like the convenience of being able to store builds in game instead having dealing with a notepad, or isnt swimming in dragonite ore or empyreal fragments and can't be bothered to waste time farming for them if they just need 1 to get something done. honestly its not like anet isnt showering us in acclaim, and in general theres not much tou can do to permanently mess up your acct (thinks if the day teapot vendored almost everything in his bag to make a point 😂)

I am very new to the game. I play Willbender wvw mostly. It says that my ascended gear should be Suun's. I wonder if the ascended gear box is worth getting or if I am able to reroll the content of these boxes to from x to Suun's via the Mystic forge.
Yes, it is possible to reroll your ascended armor stats to another stats in the mystic forge.
youre always able to reroll the armour. go get one
afaik Suun's won't be an available stat from those ascended boxes. You can do the switcheroo in the mystic forge, but you'll need to have 400 crafting in one of the armour crafting disciplines for changing armour stats, or weapon crafting for changing weapon stats, since the insignia/inscriptions for Dragon stats are account bound. So depending where you are with crafting you'll need to invest a bit of time/gold into switching the stats.

Anyone knows why Anet has a fetish in greatswords that makes the handles longer than the actuall sword? Like half of the gs skins would be actually good if they just re-sized the blade.
I will never stop being surprised by the fact that people sell Superior Runes of Holding on the trading post for about 12g and PEOPLE BUY THEM even if you can instantly get an infinite amount of them at any crafting vendor for 10g. Tbh all the items in the "noob trap" tier are not worse than that.

Yeah, 1000 acclaim is honestly not a big deal, even if you aren't sure you wanna make a legendary right now picking it up is still worth.

I bought HoT on release, and I STILL haven't finished my HoT masteries because the XP costs are so fucking high. They came to their senses with the later xpacs, but like... Maxing out *every mount*, including beetle, gryphon, and skyscale, costs about as much as _a single_ HoT mastery tree, on top of the fact that HoT maps suck and I don't want to do them. I'll gladly buy out the masteries lol
Run meta events, especially octovine for mountains of xp. They are the fastest way and you get plenty of loot.

I find upgrade extractors rlly valueable. Sources in getting them are extremely limited
So even if you don't like PvP, choose only the sPvP questline. You can complete the dailies in 1 sPvP match (around 10 min) which is much faster than traveling all over the world for pve or wvw ones.
I would disagree. It's better to take time doing your daily while having fun doing it, rather than in 10 minutes doing something that looks like a chore.

6:20 I think this is NOT oversight, but intentional move. Expansions adds more prefixes to our gears and as fas as I know you cannot even buy these gear if you do not have expansion. For me it's still good item to buy for newer players who begins gearing and do not have either expansions or money to craft/buy other gear.
Can't you just stat change them in the Mystic Forge (if you have the expansion)?
@@Draelos Haven't bought it but you should have opportunity to change stats in forge. Keep in mind that some inscriptions (Viper's for example) are account bound and I do not think that you can buy expansion inscriptions from TP (for example Mordant Inscription).
@@bojowychomik That's what I thought but wasn't sure. I can craft most of the inscriptions I want. That's the easy part. Basically ascended gear for the cost of exotic.
Upgrade extractor varies depending on what you are using it for. If its for 2 sigils that = 1.2 gold, yeah not so good. But if its Sigil of Malice and Sigil of Torment, that upgrade extractor just became worth 25 gold.
that's an insanly specific situation, which also needs to user to not have a legendary.
Well ofc in such unique situation, that item is worth it.
Sigil of Bursting is another one that comes to mind for that, too. I'd probably put the extractor in B tier as a result
Frankly, it may not sound all that of a niche situation you may find yourself in, in regards to extracting expensive upgrades.
While you can simply use Black Lion Salvage Kits for exotic gear you can replace, you may not be willing to salvage away an ascended gear just to grab the upgrades should you no longer need that setup. That's where the extractor shines.
And if you're trying to extract upgrades from ascended gear, chances are those are meta and you want them elsewhere. Sigils like Bursting, Impact, Transference, etc. or Scholar runes often cost ~3-7 gold each, making it a good approximation of being similar in value to that of 1 gold for 6AA.

Not sure if Id get martyr'd for this, but what if Anet created a "Rechargable Revive Orb" similar to their Rechargable Port To a Friend? For a bit of a hefty price, you will every hour have at least one free revive orb to pick yourself back up from fully dying. If you need multiple revives, you also still have the purchasable single use orbs as well. Obviously only usuable in PvE content.
How exactly does the leggy starter kit behave? I know it rotates, but does it reset? Meaning if i buy it now and the first reset occurs, will I be able to buy another? I would assume no but still better to ask
I'd say you can buy next one with different choice of 4 but we won't know for sure until next reset.
It is safe to assume it will go in the legacy tab but it will cost 1300 astral aclaim.

It's just that vision crystals are very easy to get, so it's a waste of currency in the vault.

Other extremely good options include willbender and soulbeast

I’m currently playing my Soulbeast in WvW as I type this lol. I love thief willbender or Soulbeast but can’t decide on one to work and learn on so figured go with the one that’s the best. Willbender seems almost immortal at times or am I wrong?

Sorry but a Vision Crystal is a good value for a new player. People keep looking at the value of these items through the view of a long time player and not someone who just started. For instance a guild mate of mine just started a week ago and he wants to earn his ascended armour but right now the game is literally stopping him from getting the spirit shards needed because of all the mastery tracks taking the xp that would normally go to spirit shards and its frustrating to have to decide "oh do I stop doing masteries just to get spirit shards or level up these masteries that are extremely important to just get spirit shards instead." So I sat him down and told him to get the ascended chests and pick any piece that isnt the actual chest piece since those require lesser vision crystals which are not available in the vault then use that vision crystal to make his actual chest piece while grabbing the weapon chest for his choice of weapon. So while I agree some things are just bad regardless of new or vet like the obsidian shard, essence of luck, gold find etc. some others are a fantastic choice for new players to help them get a leg up on ascended gear while still farming their masteries. Yes I'm aware you can easily get SS from WvW but not everyone (including this new friend) likes any form of PvP type content and also the xp in WvW or PvP doesn't help you when you're grinding out masteries. So please stop and take time to look at this from all possible points of view, not just that of a vet player.

I agree with you with the exception of the build template. That should have been in the trash category. You can have infinite build templates for free by creating a .txt file on your pc and saving the build codes.
fun fact, alt farming just got pumped with steroids. 2 weeklies over 3 months, forget about alts till refresh and you get way more than 3 login reward cycles before, where you had to remember to login everyday. (2 weeklies ~1400 aa, not counting any dailies you may do, like login/cc/3dodges/3combo/salvage/identify and so on). you need 540 for mc, 540 for discount gold and 300 for mastery scraps. thats 35g and 20mc / month / acc. but with ez dailies or 3rd weekly, well.. there are still laurels and non-discount gold to pick up

The real reason Revive Orb isn't noob trap is because it can be used in Fractals, I think even in CMs as well.

Vision Crystals are made of materials that we get so many of that Anet made "eaters" to reward players for removing these materials from the game.
The only problem I have with the wizard's vault being so good, is it has definitely caused inflation on the marketboard for almost everything. There is simply far more liquid gold floating around than ever before, since most players can easily convert their astral acclaim straight into gold, no market board selling with cut required.

I dont think there is any noobtraps or such in wizards vault. If you play the game enough you will have bought everything and even have extra points for next rotation.
i know im late to this, but i have 6k obsidian shards in one characters inventory, and hundreds of them scattered across other characters, and i have not even spent karma on them, not even once.
the presence of the shards in the vault is straight up griefing never players who see purple item and think its gonna be super important they get it from the vault.
Easy 180 gold per 3 month is crazy good.
I got an ascended armor chest and expected to be able to get a viper's ascended verson. NOPE. Not an option. It was berserker's - everything else that it offered was useless to me for ascended gear.

Sandals are God Tier, there's only one other pair in the game with Raven skin and these are better. And not much other stuff matches the new gem store sets like tattoo/leather straps/savage scale for shoes.

I'll be honest here and the vision crystal came in clutch when I was crafting some ascended weapons for my necro but came up short on blood dust and dragonite. I did not want to farm all that after getting everything else together.
might as well save for the weapon boxes and sell the ascended mats for nice profits.
Should get way more value out of 30 for one gold and then converting it all into essense by buying cheap green weapons

Unfortunately, as a newer player who is starved for gold, the first 2 things I bought with AA were the gold find. lmao brought me up to a grand total of 5% gold find. I have since bought all the discounted gold and most of the laurels to turn into gold via medium crafting bags to help buy LWS while they are on sale.
I'm so sorry. Goldfind/Magicfind are the worst stats. We are talking returns measured in years here, not months or weeks.

Vision Crystal isn't bad if you're low on the crafting mats and need it fast. You can't really farm one out in a single day without cleaning out several maps for the bloodstone, dragonite, and stars, and you need to get 30 Obsidian to make one, so it's rather cheap, and worth about two days worth of dailies I'd say.
I wouldnt pay more than 100 AA for the gold find boost.
Considering they gave it away for free before, it really should be cheap.
Everyone needs to understand. There is no value if u get legendary box to sell the leg, because selling price has dropped more thn 500g. So its the same.
