    Its important to say the Thousand Seas Pavillion has one major benefit: Because you can teleport to fishing spots across Tyria, you can essentially fast travel to (almost) every map for free. I wish I could somehow count how much gold I saved by not waypointing across the map all the time, but im sure its somewhere in the dozens by now.

    Great video, man! I'm coming back to the game from way back near launch. I really enjoy a lot of the QoL changes ANet made. They dropped loads of things that made me leave to begin with, so I went whole hog and bought the Ultimate since it's B2P. I've been looking for insight in to how to spend my gems frugally. This video is just what I was looking for. Thanks!

    On the infinite gathering tools. Some of them come with really good glyphs like the volatile magic ones. Also glyphs of industry and reaping are a couple of interesting ones. And some of these come on infinite gathering tools. Considering the gold price on the tp for some of these glyphs, you might as well take that infinite gathering tool and be done with it. However, there's another reason to get some gathering tools, particularly for mining and harvesting. The fused molten sickle is a harvesting tool that only takes half the time for the animation to be done. In other words you can harvest twice as quickly. Add the glyph of reaping to that and it's a real QoL upgrade. Think of places like Bitterfrost Frontier.
    Also for mining there are the Skyscale Hatchling Mining Tool and the Spirit of Bear Mining Tool. What they do is for rich mining nodes. Instead of having to mine 3 times they can do rich mining nodes in 2. And as extra bonus the Skyscale one comes with a glyph of alchemy (which is handy if you need orichalcum for example, since mithril nodes are available in much higher quantities). And the Spirit of Bear one comes with a glyph of Industry, which makes gathering 50% faster. Oh and as I side note the glyph of reaping I mentioned comes with the Skyscale Hatchling Harvesting Tool.
    Then there is the point that you can reskin unlimited gathering tools in the wardrobe section. So if you have one fused molten sickle is a harvesting tool, you can apply that skin to a cheaper unlimited harvesting tool on another character and it will have the same benefit of being twice as fast. Also, for example, when you have one Spirit of Bear Mining Tool, you can apply that skin on another character with a different/cheaper mining tool and have the same benefit of only needing 2 mining actions instead of 3.
    Lastly, glyphs that you get from those unlimited gathering tools are account bound, so you can take them out and put them in other gathering tools and on other characters' gathering tools. The animations will still be the same but the result from the glyph will be whatever glyph you put in.

    • @thecrionic
      @thecrionic Год назад

      NIce info, ty for sharing.
      I would add that the choya mining tool also takes 2 tries to mine rich nodes and the choya harvesting tool also has a faster animation than normal.

    You know, I'm actually gonna hard disagree on a few things.
    The infinite gathering tools, and copper and silver-fed salvage-o-matics, should be the first purchases I'd say anyone should make, for a single reason: they are, by far, the most cost-effective inventory options you could ever have.
    Without them, you need to dedicate a huge portion of your bag to salvage kits, and harvesting tools, or run into getting encumbered all the time, and/or missing out on free resource generation via harvesting.
    Those two purchases are the equivalent of buying, like, 3-4 bag slots, because your original 4-5 bag slots aren't going to be predominantly filled with salvage kits and harvesting tools.
    And while I know that you can buy karmic gathering tools for the glyph boosts they offer, they come in stacks that are half of the non-karmic kind, meaning you either need to dedicate absurd amounts of inventory to it, or port back to a city every 20 minutes or so to buy more tools (if doing even moderate farming for mats on the way).

    • @abree107
      @abree107  Год назад +12

      Copperfed and runecrafter will save a ton of space, silverfed generally will not. If 2 of each gathering tool type doesn't last you at least a couple hours I'd probably take a look at what nodes you're stopping for and prioritize the higher value ones. If you really like node farming, then I guess the infinite use tools are pretty good, but most people don't actually get positive value from them nowadays. I say that as someone with 3 sets of them. The fact of the matter is they cost 30-35 USD or the equivalent gold per set for someone buying all 3 of them and that price tag can get you a lot more of the other stuff available. It's not inherently a bad item, but I think arenanet does price them slightly too high for the practical value they bring.

    • @kelleren4840
      @kelleren4840 Год назад +2

      @@abree107 yeah, that's pretty fair. I suppose it also depends a lot on your preferred game mode, etc.
      My experience as a new player predominantly consisted of WvW and Open World content, and I forgot to factor in that new players now get a few build/equipment templates for free.
      Before that, my experience was needing to lug around food, oils, usually 1-2 other armor sets (because I didn't have enough character slots to let me have duplicate classes), and THEN worry about harvesting equipment and salvage kits.
      Given all this, being able to salvage unlimited items on the fly, and harvest unlimited resources without consuming my, like, 10-15 remaining bag slots.... it was BIG.
      That said, with equipment templates being a thing, it does somewhat change the maths around it. That said, I'd still say they're easily S-tier in their ability to let you get full use out of whatever bag slots you have.

    • @nargalda773
      @nargalda773 Год назад +8

      @@kelleren4840 actually anything "infinite", tool or salvage, is worth of purchase ONLY, if you plan play for long, and i mean YEARS long, if you are casuals who play gw2 like any other game and leave after half of year, its just waste money, especialy templates, templates are story of its own, it purpose come mainly from whining raiders, and bcz arenanet push raids like RLY HARD, they implemented these even nobody wants them or need, i NEVER use template once, its far convenient buy character slot and have full new character with full inventory etc, then buy extra template, personaly, if new player manage get first 300g, they should buy mistlock lounge and you are done for entire game, and if you are like rly poor, you can use just WvW Obsidium sanctum or pvp lobby and be fine just with that

    • @kelleren4840
      @kelleren4840 Год назад +1

      @@nargalda773 I hear what you're saying for the cost effectiveness of salvage and gathering tools.
      I think that this overlooks the immediate convenience the tools provide though. I didn't buy the gathering tools or salvage o matics to save money; I actually wouldn't care if it was slightly more expensive to use the salvage o matics than consumable kits.
      The saved inventory space and convenience alone were well worth it to me, regardless of the cost efficiency, which I think is an important point to consider.

    • @CrystronHalq

      Lol.
      You use silver only for rare items. Copper is for white and blues.
      You idealy want both but if you had to choose one, the copper is the one to go with. Not Silver.
      And 2nd, you dont need those pricey gathering tools at all. If Arena Net made it possible to switch them by like right clicking on the equipped tools and have a small window popup that shows all the character names of your account to then transfer them to any of your choice, then yes absolutely. As of now, out of my 1200 hours playtime the only time I gather intensively is when doing Drizzlewood Coast meta. I dont see the worth. Gathering seems like a waste of time. I would never put these at the same level as Shared Inventory Slots for example.

  • @Silent002
    @Silent002 Год назад +3

    Good list! I'd add that the lounge passes are not quite as useful as they seem, though, since you can teleport to and from the PvP lounge on any character in order to get access to merchant, bank and trading post. Combine that with the Icebrood Saga teleport to Eye of the North (when EotN is upgraded) and you have the same functionality as the pass for a much smaller investment.
    I'd agree that Copper and Runecrafter salvage-o-matic are a must-buy for QoL, it's so handy while chain running metas to just take a minute to salvage all my blues and greens on the spot rather than find a merchant to buy a dozen slots of savage kits.

    • @abree107
      @abree107  Год назад +2

      The advantages of passes are having many more features like crafting workbenches, the forge etc. and also being significantly faster to use than the PvP lobby. There's many players that tend to use Eye of the North or the PvP lobby and it's fine, but I've found that most of the players doing that don't take advantage of daily crafting and such. As far as I'm concerned, passes are probably one of the best values when it comes to stuff that's quality-of-life oriented, after the salvage kits. I'd have several additional teleports that I'd have to do on a daily basis just for crafting and buying fractal keys if I used the PvP lobby.

      There is an infinite hairstyle contract. I don't believe I said anything about contracts in this video, since they aren't gemstore items, but I may have mentioned them in passing and forgot.
      It's quite an expensive item, usually hovering between 2-3k gold on the trading post. Once you bind it to your account, you can redo your hair as much as you want on all of your characters and I believe there's certain colors/styles you can access that aren't available on character creation? I'm no fashion wars expert, but I believe that's the case.

If you're buying character slots at 35-40% off and filling them fractal boxes that are super cheap, it makes it even easier to get those slots to pay for themselves. Home instance nodes can be worth while if you have several accounts you are farming with. Say if you have 3 accounts, can easily make the gold back in 2-3 months.

    • @abree107
      @abree107  Год назад +1

      Even with 3 accounts it will take longer than that and you also have to factor in the value of your time. If you'd make 30g/hr farming otherwise, you also need to subtract that from the hourly profit you get from farming the instance. So if your effective profit would be 60g/hr farming home nodes then you'd only be gaining an effective profit of 30g/hr from the nodes due to opportunity cost. Not only would you need to earn the gold back, you'd also need to get to the point where you've also gained more from farming the home instance than you'd otherwise have earned doing something else. For the example with 60g/hr from home nodes and 30g/hr with farming something else, you'd have to earn enough to pay for the home nodes twice over just to break even.
      I say all of this as someone with multiple accounts who has still maxed out their home instance despite it not being mathematically worthwhile.

    • @toughbama
      @toughbama Год назад

      @@abree107 Right, its the convenience factor of not having to turn your brain on to make gold for the day. Log in a few accounts, farm your home nodes and guild nodes, login rewards, craft your daily t6 mat, then do your fractals for the day on the main. It hard to put a value on convenience, hence why gem items are so popular. And you're right, its about 1800g for home instance fully upgraded so yeah with 3 accounts you're look at around 90-100 days with 3 accounts assuming you make 20g a day off 3 accounts in nodes. Not a terrible investment if you're gonna keep playing gw2 long term unless you have an altering opinion about it, but I see your point in that you could do normal farming and make that 2k gold to invest into something else rather than convenience.

    • @abree107

    Can you explain why the Candy Corn Gobbler is important for Gold farming?

    • @abree107
      @abree107  Год назад +3

      Spirit shards are one of the most valuable account-bound currencies in the game. At their lowest, they've still always been worth at least around 30 silver each. Usually, a range of 50-55 silver is readily achievable, with more being very possible. GW2Efficiency.com has a page for spirit shard values, but that assumes you sell the product you make with them on the trading post. If you use spirit shards for material promotions and then use the materials you promote for your own crafting purposes, you'll actually gain a lot more gold value than the page says.
      You get a spirit shard every time you fill your experience bar after achieving level 80 and filling your available mastery xp bars out. 254k experience grants 1 shard.
      The candy corn gobbler is a fairly cheap, renewable experience booster. Experience boosters give 50% bonus xp from all sources with the ability to get killstreak boosts that stack up to a total of 100% bonus experience from kills. They're the single biggest buff you can get to experience gains in open-world PvE.
      Access to that booster permanently for cheap means you can get more experience, which means more spirit shards, which means more gold. It can also give you karma and magic find booster effects (the output is random), but primarily the value comes from getting the experience booster.

    Do you have a video on proper inventory management?

    • @abree107
      @abree107  Год назад +2

      Unfortunately not. I've thought about eventually doing it though. It's something that's a bit individual as everyone has different preferences.
      The general method I follow would be:
      - Deposit Materials
      - If your material storage is full of something, refine the stack if you can. If not, pull it out and put it in your bank or list it for sale if you don't need it in the future.
      - Sell junk items and vendor anything else appropriate (like green medallions that are 1s10c)
      - Open and salvage unidentified gear (refer to the video for how to do that if you don't know already). You could also wait until you have full stacks of gear and place those in your bank and do them in batches of say 10 stacks at a time if you want. Repeat the first 2 steps after processing the gear.
      - You might have some random bits left in your inventory. A lot of them can be destroyed, like Encoded Orders and event items. If you're not sure, use the /wiki command to look them up on the wiki. This step might seem like a hassle, but next time you get the item you'll already know what to do with it, so it will save you time in the long run.
      - Any items you get somewhat regularly, but don't need to have in your inventory you can put in your bank. Excess fractal encryptions/keys, tomes of knowledge, and black lion salvage kits are a few of the common ones you might do this with.
      - If your bank becomes cluttered, you can /wiki stuff in there to see if it's worth keeping or not as well. If you have a lot of gear, process it. If you have a lot of stacks of materials that you pulled out of your material storage, it might be time to consider selling those or crafting with them if they've gotten to the point of filling your bank.
      - If you have a spare character slot you aren't using, you can always make a bank character, slap some cheap bags on it, and use it to store stuff too. I have one that I use to store things like raid KP, boosters I'm not using any time soon, seasonal items for festivals, important items for achievements that are already partially finished or are hard to replace, partially finished legendary crafting components, ascended gear chests, and anything else I might not use very often but still want to hold onto.
      For cheap bags to use on bank characters you can do 20 slot uncommon fractal boxes if you have spare fractal relics to spend on them. If not, you can always just do normal 18/12/8 slot bags depending on your budget and that's still a lot better than nothing.
      Hopefully that helps!

      I prefer in-depth guides to superficial ones so that's what I tend to make.
      The infinite gathering tools are technically the best "practical value" you can get with statuettes, but obviously most people care about those juicy cosmetics. I've acquired 2 sets of gathering tools with statuettes, so I'd definitely recommend it if you don't have any black lion exclusive skins you'd rather spend them on. The only downside is you don't get glyphs with those.

    Still don't really see the use of a Lounge over just popping into the Guild Hall. We have most of that in the guild hall except for the Black Lion stuff, which I use almost never. So, 85% of a Lounge, but 100% free.

      Yep, that's how they get you. Honestly, it's probably just how the game worked when they made the first infinite-use tools and then they figured it didn't need to be changed. Some people use their shared inventory slots to store them and then swap with normal tools every time they swap characters. It's a decent little work-around.

      Every character on my account has been level 80 since before EoD launch. I don't need the shared inventory slot and I'd be deleting all the free crap that comes from using the boost, so there's just no point in using it. If I end up buying more character slots in the future, it'll go to the first character created. At the end of the day, it's only worth a small number of spirit shards to me and I don't really need those.

    A quick exception to the 2-week pass rule, is that the lava lounge comes with a season 3 episode attached. This is cheaper than buying the episode right out, and if I recall correctly, it will also cheapen the price of the whole lws3 bundle.
    EDIT: it can also be bought for 4 black lion statuettes, but this method will NOT unlock the episode.
    Edit again: Nevermind, the bundle is, as of some date, not cheaper than just the episode.

The funny thing is that my voice is quieter than the default settings on spotify when it comes to the audio in the video file I upload. RUclips does automatically mess with the audio in an attempt to normalize it, but that should theoretically fix any problems for you and make me quieter.

      You absolutely can. Just in the videos I've put up so far, there's way more information than I ever had to help me get to this point. There's also a lot of helpful goldmaking advice available on the Overflow Trading Company Discord if you're willing to join voice chat there.
      I don't want to trivialize it, because it did take a couple years for me to get to the point I'm at, but earning gold is much easier than most players think, assuming you're willing to actually take a little time and learn how to do it. There's nothing special about me. I'm not the best flipper, not the best trader, not the best farmer, not the best Excel spreadsheeter, and not the best PvE player. I just took some time to learn that stuff to a functional level and it allowed me to acquire a large amount of gold. If you actually want to, you can do it too.

    why silver matic is the least usefull? :(
    I see it has 25% chance for rare items

    • @abree107
      @abree107  4 месяца назад

      You only use it for rare gear, which is only a small portion of the total gear you salvage. For most players, they can make Mystic salvage kits instead and it will be cheaper per salvage than the silverfed kit is. Eventually you'll run out of Mystic Forge stones, but for a lot of players, that will take months or even years of active play.
      There's also the fact that you can carry around 2-3 master salvage kits if you have no other options left, and it won't bog down your inventory much, but if you're missing copperfed, you'll be hauling around 10 or more basic salvage kits to salvage what you get in a few hour play session, and that clogs up your inventory a lot.
      To summarize:
      - Copperfed provides massive quality of life for any type of player and saves tons of inventory space.
      - Runecrafter's is just the best kit for green items and there's no equivalent kit available through other methods. It's a straight up upgrade to your accounts income.
      - Silverfed provides a small or moderate quality of life, depending on if you have forge stones or not. It costs more than using a Mystic kit, and only marginally less than using a master kit. Still okay to have, but definitely not as helpful as the others, particularly if you still have forge stones available.
