I have been using dagger dagger deadeye build and honestly i have so much fun with, it's so good to not only have good evade but also good heals for myself lol
I still love power spellbreaker. I've been doing a lot with Virtuoso due to CM progressions, but spellbreaker is my main and I don't see it changing unless they nerf the hell out of it for some reason. Sadly, it IS noticeably broken on bosses that are coded as structures. That burns me on the IBS EZ3 unless I swap to Berserker, because the big Icebrood golem boss in SPP and Fraenir is a structure and you can't get Insight procs or CC-based adrenaline out of it.

Oh, mr. Teapot. I am rather new to GW2, playing on and off for a while... BUT.. Kinda funny thing is that my Main, which I went for strictly due to the visage and my inclination to Mesmers in my GW1 end-period, is Virtuoso. It wouldnt be that crazy that I randomly picked one of the best DPSs... if I also didnt go for Scourge in my second, current playthrough.. :D

Untamed is my favorite DPS right now. The only place it's annoying is places like HT where you can't get your traps to trigger for dragonhunter relic but that's easy enough to play around if you have legendaries.
Gear i use relic sigils and runes are full leggie except under water weapons so it is easy for me to try new stuff as long as build uses sword lb axe axe or my preferred hammer. Was often told my dps is a bit low but each build recommended thief. So i went with it thinking its just the best i can do. Tried relic of the dead eye lost dps. my last thing i tried was relic of dragonhunter given i ice trap open alot anyways and my dps shot up. i hope build learn that too soon.
Just curious, now we've had all these balances and whatnot, will you, "TeaPot", be hosting another Low Intensity build video any time soon? There has been many changes made so, would be nice.
Since it was mentioned there are two issues with quickbrand. Part of it is the boon radius cone and other team mates not stacking to get quickness, these are often the same people that complain that all quickbrands are bad at quickness. Another issue is the benchmarks almost never having a reasonable boon duration on real encounters where teammates only have 100% quickness if your stacked the entire time and you don't get CC'ed or anything that would interrupt your mantra charging. Many only have 40% quickness where more ideally you want to be closer to 50% to take into account of split mechanics where you need to wait a few seconds for the group to stack before using your quickness mantra and has more reasonable overcap.
I don't like the elem pistol feeling, but I keep hearing you praising its dps, I guess I'll have to learn to like it.
It does insane condi dmg, but everything feels so boring compared to sword/warhorn, daggers or even scepter. As you said the feeling is bad.
Condi Mech is actually quite good despite its low benchmark. It has one of the most reliable uptimes of all builds, making it very resistant to mechanics. To this day I play it on Ankka.
Power Mech is not good I agree, but there's a misconception about the build too. Many people use the old rifle ranged build, however power Mech should use the melee mech and hammer these days.

I use pistol torch spectre and my damage went up an insane amount, but i still run scepter on my secondary weapon slots, but it pretty much blows almost everything else out of the water, it just feels like i'm autoattacking and it absolutely nukes, although i feel like mace engi is still stronger on some builds.
I main 2 eles, but if you got your wish and ele was nerfed into the ground, I'd shrug and go about my dailies. I mained Enhance Shaman in WoW through Cataclysm. I'm grew accustomed to rockin a nerfed underdog class lol
Thanks for another insightful and entertaining vid! Didn't realize pistol was performing so well on tempest. I kinda bounced off pistol after the first couple of weeks. It feels pretty underwhelming in the anim/fx department. Especially compared to Hammer or Sword/dagger which I find far more engaging and exciting. I'll give pistol some more attention tho. See if I can find the vibe for it.
Pistol is mildly insane with Catalyst. Especially with an auras buff build. The auras uptime is pretty bonkers. And it's reasonably possible to get 2-3 auras up at once. So it's easy to maintain all maxed out aura triggered buffs. And be really shiny.
@@dieselsandwich42 yea, aura buff cata and tempest is what mostly run. I was getting similar output with pistol/dagger as I get with sword/dagger. I don't doubt its efficacy. Sword/dagger just feels snappier and hammer feels more impactful. I need to give pistol more time, but I'm such a hammer girl lol
@@ThrowingCrunchy to be fair, sword dagger is fun as hell, very zippy. I mostly main power sword dagger weaver. But pistol is growing on me.

What I like about open world, doing metas, rifts etc, is that I can just have fun and not worry about performance too much. And when it comes to mesmer, the mirage spec is, for me, the most fun. I don't know wtf I am doing with it, but boy, its fun!

Power untamed mains like myself try Dragonhunter relic if you use ice trap. My dps went up 3k on golem with just that relic vs the thief relic. I do a LI rotation cc 3 and 5 dps 2 and 4 but using current build set up. My dps was always a touch low. Now im often top 2 or 3 dps with my simple rotation just by using that relic over thief. my rotation now is ice trap exploding spores unleash ambush with hammer 2 and 4 if break bar 3 and 5. wait for ice trap cool down and repeat rotation i love it.
Went from lowest dps in my raid group to on power enemies top 3 dps. i tried it with my raid group last tues because ppl were complaining about my dps in my raid group static that monday. That monday evening i was looking at everything might change my dps. Almost gave up. So i swapped out of thief relic to Deadeye relic it lost more dps then i tried dragonhunter relic my dps shot up 3 k. One raid boss with my simple rotation i was the top dps so im keeping that relic. That tuesday we did remaining raid wings. People in my group was saying Your untamed is on fire sure enough i opened arc dps and she was in top 3 on a boss. Wont go back to thief relic untamed lol.

Do you have a tier list for low effort Raid builds? I haven't Raided for over a year and want to get back into a static group to relearn what little I have forgotten, and want something easy to play, so I can concentrate just on learning the mechanics of each Raid, before I am ready to provide more utility to the Raid squad. Last time I Raided, I played a Condi Quickness Firebrand, but I'm willing to learn another class and elite specialization, as I have about half, or a bit more unlocked, and eventually want to unlock everything. Really want to finish crafting my first set of Raid armor, and I have the Crystalline Heart collection started, plus been buying Provisioner Tokens and have all 6 crafting gift things, so it shouldn't take me long to get the rest done.
Condi scourge (Alac/DpS) - Easy to learn and good group utility via barrier
Power Reaper - good burst damage and very simple rotation
Condi mech - Very good damage and easiest build to play, low access to cc sadly
Power mech - great damage, easy to learn, access to great utility
Condi Virt - very easy to play, insane utility and great survivability

@@EDGE-Chris Thanks for the detailed reply. I’ve been playing a Power Mech for the last several months, so I’ll check Snow Crow’s website for the latest updates to that build and see what the rotation should be. I can probably switch to Condi Mech easily because I already have a Condi SoulBeast with all of the Viper’s gear and I also have a set of Trailblazer trinkets and weapons if I learn how to tank.
I also like the other suggestions you posted, so I’ll check them out as well.
Deadeye will get S+ when they get their range indicator back when kneeling
I love the change to the pistol trait for thief where it gives you a 5% dmg increase instead of a 10% dmg decrease. It is still less dmg than rifle in seating mode but P/P is more mobility which helps in fights where the boss moves around a lot.
I play my deadeye p/p + rifle. Best of both worlds xD, i dont care if its not the best, but being able to go from a kiting madlad to a sniping powerhouse is the only reason even concider playing a thief anyway.
@@andybanan1992Same here, and the Pistol 4 skill is a great CC skill so it's the perfect weapon to offhand when playing rifle.
@@Salamandr0 honestly this game is quite well balanced, so unless you are doing the challenge modes, min maxing aint really that important tbh, so i usually just play whatever i want regardless of optimization.
@@andybanan1992 Same here and I 100% agree. My original comment was more of a jab at those that say "P/P is trash! Go Rifle instead!" I like playing Rifle when we're sitting still but when we move a lot I like playing P/P more.

Are those the "realistic" dps numbers on stationary, non-attacking target while under effect of every possible boon and booster in game? Or realistic-realistic?
Having 100% boon uptime is VERY basic in all instanced content, and most fights more or less allow 90-100% uptime when you play correctly so yeah the numbers are realistic.
Will Anet fix condi mirage someday? It's weird

What build is virtuoso running to be so reliable? The hardstuck build says it's updated for an old patch.
Metabattle has one with rampagers/vipers condi/hybrid damage. Works well for me in fractals
The same condi virt Dec2023 build. Reliable ranged dps and a fair bit of utilty based on encounter. There's a reason the successful Febe CM runs load CVirt.

@@LastNameTayloryou basically run precision to get 100% crit, and condi dmg as your main source of damage stat, the 3rd stat can be either power/ferocity for that little dps bump, or toughness/vit for a bit more tankiness.
Dealing crits stacks bleed, so you want to deal as many hits per second as possible, which is why your healing ability and your utility both are used as cooldown reseters, your highest damaging ability is the 5th skill on focus, dealing a whopping 12 hits per cast, so you use your heal ability to reset this skill as often as you can, switching over to sword off-hand for the 5th ability there, hitting (iirc 8 times) this is also interchangable with pistol off hand, as it deals the same number of hits at range, but it deals these hits over a few seconds longer.
For your class abilities you want to use F2 as much as possible as it has the best damage overall, and your F1 as secondary in between f2 CDs. F3+4 are not really worth using, so you use one of your signets to reset the cooldown on your F1+2 abilities.
Your F5 ability is great for AOE fights.
Your ultimate ability is either the virtu special for max damage, or moa for the CC.
This means you still have 2 utility slots to put in whatever you fancy. Only the heal and 1st utility are mandatory
theres a time trial somewhere 2 min boss fight for gold. if my character cant get that, it's not a good build.
failed it initially, now i have good custom builds. i play my way. got way better than gold, but still could improve. then again, im in starter gear. legendaries would help

Honestly in my opinion, it would be scourge, it has a great barrier output allowance to tank mechanics easily
I hate that you get animation locked with Daredevil, you have close range and even if you play perfectly a mediocre Virtuoso will do more dmg -.-

Mirage needs serious rework, condi virt needs to be tuned down a little bit. Power mirage is fun in OW to clear mobs but in instanced content, needs buff. Riddle of Sands can be changed as power modifier, alac needs to removed from staff to trait. Sword 2 needs strong buff to compete with dagger. Ah I miss S/S-S/F chrono. Good old days
The haters can hate, but imo mech is very reliable. Sure I'll never hit 40K on it, but I can hit 30K and be the #2 DPS in the group in Gorseval in a random pug run as rifle power mech :)
if a dps can do over 30k dps then its all S tier. This is just splitting hairs. Mirage is just fine too
Power mech is perfectly valid in 99% of content. The hammer build is very bursty and the sword pistol build has good sustain. The rifle build is ranged and has a push and an immob which is useful in many raids. I think he's just undervaluing it because he doesn't like rifle mech, which to be fair is the weakest of the options, but he clearly has never seen high level mech players (which is also understandable since it's the most common build for lazy players).
Comparing shit build to just bad players which can make dps up time high? Bro... xDD

It's not tanky in the unga bunga facetank sense, it has a ton of active defense though like Distortion which is one of the best defensive skills in the game, coupled with block on sword and projectile block on focus. It also sustains itself with healskill signet whenever it's not on cooldown from the rotation.
@@Sang-Draxproblem withthe sword block is that you always seems to be caught with focusoff hand whenever you need the block xD happened to me SO many times. And honestly the healing signet sustain just seems overrated to me NGL. And since your signet is so mandaroty for your rotarion as a Cooldown reseter, most of the time you will never get any value out of its active heal component anyway.
But it does as you say have lots of defensive utilities otherwise tho.
If I never have to heal another squad with six cvirts ever again, it would be too soon.

Nothing wrong with liking it but it deserves it's low ranking on the tierlist, it's very low damage especially with rifle after it got nerfed for being OP during EoD.
@@Jonaleth I assume you are mostly doing open world content, in which case the tier lists here wont really apply. Rifle power mech is a very low damage dealer, especially if you're standing at range because you wont be getting as many boons from other people around you which are the core of doing actual damage. Being too far away from your mech will also make its abilities incur a longer cooldown, which just means even less dps. So yes for open world tagging bosses and stuff sure play what you like, but this build in instanced group content is actually lower damage than the support dps builds. I wouldn't even say it's decent, it's literally (no pun intended) just a build for bots.
I'd encourage you to get more comfortable in melee and give sword+pistol a try though. It wont pull the numbers that other better dps builds can currently pull, but it will perform significantly better than being at range with a rifle.
@@mebrandonb Thank you for your reply. When Im doing more competitive content like fractals or rarely raids and strikes I ofc go into melee. The ranged thing is mainly a chilling thing in open world. But Ill also try out your recommended sword/pistol set and see if I can get used to it.

I guess people find it boring and easy to play, probably.
I find it really boring to play, and I find the voice lines pretty annoying when there's 3-5 of them in my squad all saying them every fight.
For me it's the squishiness. I feel safer playing tempest, not to mention the not so notoriously squishy professions.
But I suspect that most hate comes from people who don't play the class and as such the reason is probably jealousy, since the build of their main wasn't as well designed as Virtuoso. Because in GW2 terms a spec that doesn't handicap itself for no reason is actually a rarity, and if it's also effective, jealousy is guaranteed. Which they then try to cover up with elitism using statements like "it's too easy and boring".
I actually don't like the multi dagger animation above the characters head. Like a peacock without all the colours.

This explanation is already very good, and can be used as a guide for new players, but there is 1 thing to note, the way to play of each player will definitely be different, and maybe will also have a different understanding, this is what new players must pay attention to.

I have 6 Willbender builds for WvW, I always flick between, each is unique, and very effective. Especially if the group is good.

What is the best pure ranged dps to play shoot-n-run style? I'd like to try something like that in ow, fractals, and wvw, mb strike and raids lately. A pistol Deadeye, mb? Is there something better?
For Open World nothing beats Rifle Deadeye, but that's relying on boons from traits to mass murder weak mobs so you can't at all compare it to group content builds. If you're curious, though, look up the world complete world record, it's a fantastic display of pure speed.

Personally i like pistol/pistol + rifle deadeye.
Thr dual pistols gives amazing kiting and mobility, and rifle really pumps on single, its the theoretically best (iirc thats dual dagger, but why tf play a melee deadeye)
An deadeye can easily cap 100% crit chance with just using berserkers gear and fury from its own abilities.
As rifle you are permanently at 25 might+ fury, and can even get some self quick for that extra resource generation.
Make Bsw a big pumper and give alac to Spellbreaker!

I used virtuoso but is good for single foe, i reroll on scourge and is perfect
virtuoso is easily the best dps in the entire game it's easy to play and does insane damage you can attack everything form 1200 range it has good cleave and you even have pretty strong cc, you just have to make sure you have the right stats because if you're not crit capped you will do much less damage
His hatred for pwr chrono upsets me. But yeah he is right. Still love dps chrono tho.

condi tempest has a fairly complex rotation to learn and power rifle mech goes bruu so it's probably just a skill issue

I'm new and confused. A few days ago for dps support it seemed you rated herald as a class very highly. Then here you seemed to gloss over it. Was there a balance patch between these vids and if so what was it that was changed?
I mean the idea would be, herald is just much better at DPS support than pure DPS.
Nothing has changed. These are just two different roles. You can play herald as either buff dps in the quickness roll or as pure dps.
It has great dps and amazing support as a buff class.
As a pure dps it has mediocre dps compared to the other specs and since buffs are so easy to get you do not get much value in being a dps class that gives some extra boons.
Recommendation: If you are filling the quickness support role, play herald.
If you are filling pure dps roll, swap over to vindicator. The play style is very similar.

u can play core ranger. you can get around 35k dps with condi. Rest of the core classes are too low with dps
the mirage bias is an L take. It can do a lot of damage.
No way Deadeye is S tier lmao. The amount of "buts" and "ifs" that class requires to deal optimal DPS, combined with low healthpool, makes it sub-optimal choice most of the time.
Half of your "S+" tier shouldn't be there.

Until you press F5 half a second too late and kill yourself with less help from the boss than would be needed to kill an ele who is afk. Scrapper is just worlds better than holo in every way. Even condi mech is better because of range and shift signet. Holo should be B tier because of all of the annoying limitations of the build. It's like specter, but your shroud kills you instead of shielding you, and you can't play ranged.

With that amount of forced movement not even 50k dps would put it in S+ tier. Also very susceptible to enemy movement to an extent that Virtuoso just isn't. Overall solid S tier, but it's no Virtuoso.

Very susceptible to enemy movement, and you have to pray that your 10 hour channel on your overload doesn't get interrupted or you waste half the damage potential of the skill and your dps tanks. Again something that Virtuoso doesn't have to deal with. And utility, while plenty, is often difficult to access, because you could be stuck in the wrong attunement and having the attunement you need be on cooldown.

how is it that the profession that's typically supposed to be a glass cannon has dismal dps across most of its specs compared to other profs?
As someone who comes from other MMos, its hilarious to read the complaints on GW2 builds and balance... like almost every build is within 10% of eachother, and yet people vomplain about "dead builds" just because it does 42k instead of 45.. lmao

You seem to insist that healers and supports are… people.
Only dps are people. If a healer or support was people, they’d be a dps. It’s self evident.

I dont know why Slb S+ and Untamed S. I mean Untamed is in all points better than Slb except the burst. With Untamed u have more dps, more CC, boonstrip or corrupt and projectile block. teapot doesnt like Untamed^^
On the other hand, Soulbeast's dps does not depend on pet's AI, it has passive boon prolongation when getting quickness and unique utility with stance sharing. I also prefer Untamed(I did not choose a pet class to play without the pet), but Soulbeast strong.
From having played all the classes in the game, I can confidentely say guardian and elementalist are the most squishy. Utility sure but their low HP pool (and no enhanced dodges) just make them very fragile. Their healing is good, but that's after the damage is done (literally).
Guardian has blocks galore. Saying it’s more squishy than thief is wild.

In your videos I see real human being talking, not some game character, tastelessly combined together with voice record. You (or your video editor, if you maybe have such) have nice taste for video editing, what I want to say.

Soulbeast still has insane burst, it's s+ in my opinion

There's no reason to ever play pure DPS Herald, it's S+ as a quick DPS but completely mediocre as a pure DPS.
