so well recorded, america was not recording genius' back then
If you ain't moved by these performances , brother there is something seriously wrong with you. This is what Life is all about.
It gives me goosebumps.
To be a true bluesman, you would have to live the blues, these guys lived that blues in the Mississippi Delta and took it to Chicago and the rest is history!!
Muddy Waters must have been the coolest guy in any room he walked into.
I doubt anyone ever messed with him.
He was.
I met Muddy while on the Hard Again tour. I had several friends playing with him in the show,Johnny Winter,Charles Calmese ,James Cotton. When I walked into Muddy's room I told him Mr. Morganfield what a pleasure it is to meet you tonite. He said ,"Tony my friends call me Muddy" then he introduced me to his wife and we had some champagne.
He won another Grammy from that release!😊
They are Fantastic, without a doubt. I'm sure that someone somewhere could be close to this particular group at this particular time with Muddy Waters. Problem is you have to have an ear for the sound and this younger generation doesn't. I play guitar and I wish that I had the tone of James Madison.
The best Chicago blues singer there ever was. Period.
One of my favorite things about seeing an old Muddy film is look whos with him...Otis Spann on keys...
god bless Otis, such a talent.
Excellent song by Muddy " Mississippi" Waters. RIP your music will last for invinity.
Man, Muddy Waters grabs this 19 year old kid and shakes him into his pot of awesomeness. Love this man so much!
God almighty you created a pure force in Muddys voice that's like looking in the eye of a hurricane. Loved it so much RIP dear friend, I hope we meet in heaven and have a jam together
How would you describe Howlin' Wolf's voice? 😳
I can taste the tension in this song.
I think think this is the ultimate Muddy Waters as well as the ultimate blues tune
The best blues singers of all times. R.I.P. Muddy and I know my dad and my uncle and aunts are dancing and listen to you as you play .
This wasn't music, this was history in the moment. An event of a powerful reality through sound.
The best musician ever. Chicago blues at its best.
His guitar work is better is
than Clapton
I wish we could hear this on the radio than the mindless, soulless shit we are getting today
It ain't even mindless and souless it's just plain shit!
My favorite muddy waters drummer. Such a drunk yet precise style, so blues.
As a student of Muddy's guitar style, I can't think of a better example than this one. And the video quality is good so that we can see how he's playing it. Many thanks to slowbluesmaster for posting this.
wow. some people can play the blues. some people can sound like the blues. and some people...some people are the blues
Amen
He has that voice ___ like no one else ____ everyone was influenced by his mastery ____ RIP soulnan thank you
This is a gift to the world. Every single part of this video moves me. This is the essence of the blues.
Yes it truly is!
He's been gone from this life over 30 years but hearing him STILL gives me goosebumps! I still remember what a thrill it was to be on stage with him. He may be gone from this life, but his music lives FOREVER!
My favorite since I was a teen...almost 65 now...better than ever....
"not a mule is kickin' in your stall". WOW!

His wife got another man
They broke the mold after making just 1 Muddy. There will never be another!
One of the purest performances ever
Indeed!
I just saw a soul holding a guitar and angels dancing around!! Amazing!
That's the guitar made with a built -in stand that pulled out from the back.
Unique guitar.
I am always honeslty amazed at the sheer talent of this genius of the Blues. There are people who know nothing about the Blues who are blown away by this music. It has everything that is best about the Blues.
What a classic!
Paul Oscher was just a kid back then but he was already a blues harmonic master! Thank you for posting!

Muddie's mind, it wild be a library!
Love, love, love, love his lyrics in the last minute!
Love these performances of Muddy.
Never seen Muddy play that proficiently, or aggressively. I'm very impressed with his guitar skills which he should have showcased more, instead of relying on other players like Jimmy Rogers and Luther Tucker.
i swear, this song sounds better every time i listen to it
