    I get a tight throat when I'm having anxiety,most people think I'm crying, ugh it's so embarrassing.

      Anxiety can cause strain in the muscle of the voice box. I suggest that you speak to your doctor and get a referral to see a specialist for dealing with anxiety. There are way to improve your voice in these situations.

    Hey Katarina! I’m a opera singer, and I’ve been singing for so many years, these months I’ve been suffering throat blocked sensation that shows up when I sing pretty much, and it lasts days! It shows up mainly after I sing some very high notes or after I accidentally pushed my voice.
    I tried resting for a few days but as long as I start singing, this blocked sensation just comes back! And it really affects my from singing… I had never had this sensation before, only these months… and I’m really desperate, I don’t know what’s the cause of it… it feels air is stuck in the throat, and I burp as well, after massaging a bit on the throat for myself.

      You posted this comment two months ago, I hope you found some solutions for your singing voice. I suggest that you work with a voice coach or voice teacher who can help you find more freedom in your voice when singing. Pushing one's voice or singing at the high range can cause these sensations but there are exercises you could do to release that muscle tension. I wish you all the best.

      Sometimes, our bodies can develop conditioned responses. It means that a neutral stimulus, like the time of the day, triggers a response in the body - discomfort or tightening. I suggest that you use the technique of somatic tracking when you start feeling discomfort. It will teach your body to accept the sensations and process them as normal, not as dangerous or threatening.

    I cannot properly to project my words. The only thing that works is screaming sessions which help to lower the voice, reduce muscle effort and make it easier to project. Why I have this problem I don’t know. Maybe related to a past cervical surgery 🤷‍♂️

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  Год назад

      Yes, cervical surgery may be a factor in your voice problem. I suggest that you speak to a voice therapist to find the best ways to improve your voice.

    where can I learn more about the neurological causes of muscle tension dysphonia? my 10 years old brother seems to have the issue as well as I notice him holding his throat after a few minutes of speaking and pausing to take a breath. it just made me think that my MTD might be genetic.

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  Год назад

      MTD is not considered a neurological problem. Neurological voice problems can be detected by laryngologists who are trained to diagnose them. If you think that your brother has a voice problem, speak to your parents and his doctor.

    I experience discomfort while speaking, especially with words that include the 'd', 'th', 't' sound, as the tip of tongue hurts. I feel like my tongue apply high force than required while speaking. Could you suggest some exercises to correct this problem?

    Hi can you tell what my problem is? I often feel my throat tighten and it is always followed by an urge to reach for anything edible to put in my mouth, whether it'd be bread, chips or candy or whatever, usually something dry and salty or sweet. If I fail to do so, watery saliva would start pooling in my mouth quickly and cause me to dry heave and spit everything out. This is more frequent when I am working on my computer or fiddling with my phone. It really gets in my way at work, and might stop me from getting a better job in the near future. Hope you can help, thanks.

      I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with tension in your neck and tightness when speaking. But I am not a miracle worker. I cannot just suggest treatment based on a very short description of your problem. My whole channel is about different strategies and techniques to release tension. I invite you to spend some time on my channel or similar channels and try different things to see which one is good for you.

    Just asking: If it’s tight, but I can still breathe and swallow, is it still a cause for concern? Like it feels like I can’t breathe but I can lol. My breathing and speaking does momentarily stop but I can catch it. Also no pain..

      If it does not cause you any troubles, if it does not stop you from doing what you want and need to do, if it does not cause you any emotional stress, then it is not a problem.

      That is a sweet question! I love TikTok but unfortunately it was very time consuming to make all those videos. And they were very short. Here on YT and FB and IG, I can make longer videos where I can share more of my knowledge. I believe that the topics I cover need more explanation than 30 seconds.

    It hurts a bit like on the side of the neck/throat when I try to sing a bit higher

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  Год назад

      Singing in a higher range is a learned skill. Discomfort is a sign that there is too much muscle effort or constriction. Singing teachers can help with this problem.
