dont be afraid to upload videos of you doing projects. cleaning. all that. the traveling and shots are insane but those kinda side of it too is really interesting
68 year old mom-aged (or grandma) person who is so proud of your bravery and intelligence! (and sometimes get worried!) I wish the boat wasn't so problematic but I guess that's part of all the learning. Fijians are some of the sweetest people on the planet
I am so impressed with your calm and positive sailing abilities. Most sailors today would hanker down in port waiting for perfect weather conditions, but not you, you just go for it! Great. I circumnavigated the world when in my 20's back in the 70's and had no such thing as weather predictions and had find out the weather as it arrived. Well done.
INCREDIBLE drone footage! I'm 52 and still working. I'm living vicariously through your videos, brother. I should have done what you are doing before I began my career. Hopefully I can stay healthy enough to follow in your wake in a few years. Stay safe, have fun!
Great videos! Regarding the engine troubles, I had the same symptoms last year, and it was due to the exhaust hoses / system being partially clogged up by "exhaust dirt" ... apparently I used the engine at low revs to much, so exhaust dirt had a chance to build up on the exhaust side. removing the exhaust hose from the engine block and cleaning that out solved the problem about 80% ... ! All best and thanks for the videos!
Re: Fuel water separator: IME water usually gets in thru the vent during seas. The vent hose should go to a higher point than the vent before going into fuel water separator to allow seawater to drain back out the vent vs. going into the separator or possibly the tank. That milky white color = seawater which doesn't contaminate diesel as readily as gasoline but the engine will cut out regardless. Take care of that fuel water separator. It is the most important part on the boat when motoring. Many FVs have sunk after taking water into the separator, knocking out the engine. The stern goes into the waves, the pumps run down the batteries, then that's it. Not too many carry a drogue to throw off the bow to keep pointed into the waves. Good work, good video, good luck.
I had an choice of sailing around the world as 23 year old, however due to different circumstances I went to Florida and went to flight school instead. Fast forward over 35 years later I’m now flying for a major airline and living a very comfortable life, but gosh I’m so of jealous of Garrett👍👍👍👍👍
That was probably the best drone montage of french poly i have ever seen. Great video and editing skills. Hopefully when you reach Fiji their customs will be smiling & welcoming people
i don’t ever offer a super thanks on youtube however given your ability to stand tall and Go and at an age where finds should be tight since you’ve not had decades to work, perhaps this is your career now- learning about boats, aquatic environments, and all animals including people who sail. Cheers Garrett
Solar panels: Check each connection with a volt ohm current meter. Battery? Is the electrolyte low? Don't wire batteries in parallel. Check your solar controller. It's possible you have just miscalculated your wattage consumption. Fuel: Contaminated with rain or salt water or both? Outside fillers are a great source of contamination. Alternately pump out the bottom and fill it with drinking water. This will dilute overboard salt and contamination. My 3 HP land diesel contaminated it's fuel. Remedy: Drain, back flush the filter, and refill the tank with fresh diesel. I'll filter the bad diesel with a cotton ball. You should have a SSB CB radio so you're never alone. You might consider carrying all your diesel in soda plastic jugs. Zero contamination.
The snake at 3:14 is a banded sea krait. They have the most toxic venom of any snake, but are mostly harmless because their mouth isn’t big enough to bite most parts of a human.
Thankk youuu for this wonderful video !!! Watching this makes me feel calm and inspired as well to travel and explore. Your sailing videos feel like independence and freedom to me especially because I wish to do this in the future when Im finally capable of doing so.
Wow man! Really enjoy your videos. Keeps me going working until I my self get out long-time (land) adventuring again. Exploring as a living for a while is truly amazing. You doing it by sea is soo cool. Take care!
Hello. It's exactly the lifestyle I want. I would love for you to make a chat video in the middle of the sea. I hope one day we can sail together and grill fish. I think traveling alone can be very boring. I wish you success and happiness.
Thank you for sharing such wonderful places with us, Garrett. Beautiful underwater photography as usual. Keep well and safe plus living free. Inspiring. James.
This is so cool!!! I’m 22 and just graduated college. I’ve been feeling pretty lost the last 6 months and this is inspiring me to follow my dream of traveling the world. 😃
Great stuff Garrett. I watched from the beginning and this is what makes me feel good. Just did almost 4000 nm in one jump and loved every minute at sea. That's where the life is. Keep going.
Killer footage of the journeys. Always excited when I see an update from you Garrett. Safe travels. One thing to check for is blow by. Pull the oil cap while it’s running and see if you have any fumes or pressure.
Hey! Kudos to you for being so brave and going out in the world on your own! But I guess nobody ever told you when you were 16 or 17 that you had your whole life ahead of you! Pace yourself! Enjoy your journey or you will burn out. God has a onan and a purpose for your life ❤️ and loves you more than you can even imagine! His love is infinite, no start, no finish, and never ending. Peace and love! Good luck and guidance!
Really enjoy following your adventures mate, the drone footage and diving video was fantastic. Don't worry too much about the engine, every sail boat has nothing but engine troubles and it's how you deal with them that makes you a better sailor. Keep perceiving your doing great. Fair winds
Have you looked into doing a meet up with the Sailing Zatara kids, Jack and Kate? I believe they’re working at their friend’s resort this summer in Tonga. It would be great publicity for your channel and theirs. Their subscribers are also in need of sailing content now that their channel is getting very boring because all of that family’s kids are leaving and not sailing as much. That would be a really cool collaboration
I like your videos so much. Beautiful places and its so relaxing to watch and a good choice of music 👌👌😁😁 keep doing what you do best. Be save and blessed 🙏
I'm thinking about getting a boat and doing some traveling, but it's kinda hard to find something decent when you live in Ohio 😂. Love the videos man. I'm only 20 and it's crazy to see you doing this! Keep it up.
Ah, boat problems! I feel your pain. I'm having issues with my Cavalier 36 with electrics completely dead due to batteries being totally run-down after power outage in the marina. Trying to change the cooling pump which is leaking badly and the fan belt which is rediculously loose so I can jump start the engine and charge the batteries. I got the pump off but some parts are so stuck together I can't get them apart. Calling in my friendly mechanic. Unfortunately the voltage in the batteries is so low the battery charger can't read them. Hoping I don't have to replace the batteries! Loved your French Polynesia montages.
It saddens me, that in all these exotic, and remote South Pacific locations that have long been dreamt about, and romanticized over, that there’s still enough over-tourism that locals can get attitudes. I just spent a few months in Japan, and it is SO crowded with tourists. Absolutely everywhere. Even now in Thailand - I’ve been here before, but there’s so many western tourists now…I might as well be an any American city. ‘…too late to explore the world, too early to explore the stars…’ 🙂↕️
That little spit of land at 16:20...where is that?? Lat/long?? We're sailing to French Polynesia from Hawaii in less than a year. I want to spend a day there!!
dont be afraid to upload videos of you doing projects. cleaning. all that. the traveling and shots are insane but those kinda side of it too is really interesting
No. F that. Theres endless "sailing channels" that just do boat work and never go anywhere.
@@SOLDOZER Yeah I agree! Too much of the B.S.!
Extra knowledge enjoy as well

Your comment tells me you have ZERO experience sailing and know nothing but are an expert on everything.
@@SOLDOZER Your comment tells me you are an arsehole.

It's fun tagging along with you to places I will never go to. Reminds me how small & limiting my little niche in the world is 🌏

Ah a fan of Star Treck Trebels!!!
Love your videos love your journey!
Beautiful. Thanks for being honest. My impression of Tonga from videos over the years is pretty bad. Especially during Co-vid.
Woa new video, I'm sure it's gonna be crazy!
17:45 Surely that shot is with a filter. No? WOW!
Did it look like that in person? 😲
Gather you met my friend barry on mai kai out there, what a interesting world we live in. Take care, cheers brian in nz.
The journey begins!!
Always the best videos man! Safe sea’s and see you for the next one 😉
