- After tuning my BMW F10 M5 and making it feel like a monster under acceleration, it was time to see some real world performance numbers. Using Dragy I attempted to record the fastest 60-130mph I can get with my M5. The results were not what I expected!

For those of you that chose not to watch the entire video. The MHD Tune is still in beta and not 100% finalized yet. I'm sure their team will get it right with time. I will be making a follow up video to further explain my findings. My car being a 2016 with a different DME may have something to do with how it ran.

I've logged over 90 60-130's thus far on my m6 gc competition. I've found that it performs the best when starting in 3rd @ roughly 55mph, traction completely off & manual shift at 6700rpm (our stock turbos do not make any real power after that). I also recommend going custom tune > OTS. Love the s63tu content.

Can you elaborate on what you are looking at when logging? I have the same car and similar mods and just flashed to BM3 stage 2, 93 octane. I ran stage 1 last year with just CAI and good success. Upgraded this winter but it’s still a bit cold here for any good runs. Great video’s as usual.
Interesting finds. I just recently tuned MHD stage 2 on my F10 M5, it feels great haven’t noticed any significant issues like that which is odd. I was however under the impression that the F10 tune was finalized, so good to know. I have heard a lot of mixed stories with BM3 on these cars and kinda scared me away from it which is why I went with MHD. Going to do some testing on my car to see if anything similar is happening to mines.

Hey were your RK intakes on when you got this resolved or did you leave them off? Since putting the RK intakes on my F10 I’ve had constant issues. I keep getting a MAF code and rough idles.

I just bought a BMW X5M which is the same engine as the M5 and I was driving with my brother and he asked can we go faster than 40-45. I was laughing saying bro we are at 80, but it sure didn't feel like it..
14 m550i 3.5 bar tmap sensors, JB4, catless downpipes, intake and 24psi target boost with XHD flash gets me 7.8/9's

BM3 is just overall a better tune in my opinion, I have my 435i stage 2 93 tune and i used to run mhd but holy bananas when i switched to bm3, the difference is unreal, the car felt very consistent and the high end pull and the stock feeling power band is the key.
My rod didn't like BM3 s2 tune. It got bent.

BM3 fixed the throttle closure issues long ago on the S63. There is no better OTS tune for the S63TU than BM3 right now. Halim Cazimi actually developed the OTS tunes, one of the best custom tuners for the S63.

So I own an M5 F10 over here in Europe running MHD Stage 2 and I can confirm that somehow the car is running strange with MHD. I ran the first version and was having the same throttle body issues as you do. The car just does not feel smooth at all. They sent me a second version and somehow it is much better now. This was during summer 2021. a friend installed the same map on his M5 a week ago and is having the same issues again. So I dont know why but MHD is somehow struggling to get the map right on this car. I managed to do 6.5 100-200km/h but this was the very best I could do was driving alone and with a quarter of a tank. I also went on the dyno with it and the car pulled 735HP and 820 Newtonmeters. So HP is pretty good, but torque is a bit off. But I prefer to stick with this, yes I know you can pull 1000 NM on these engines, but believe me there are so many around wirg engines failing because of too much torque.
You can reach out to me if you need more input, I am driving MHD for months and was going back and forth with them...
Sounds like the revision they sent you was spot on. 6.5s 100-200 is not bad all all. Curious as to what the temperature and DA was during that run. 2nd gear or 3rd gear?
@@VehicleVirals its more or less spot on. Its not a 100% perfect cause it is still adjusting the throttle body even though I am 100% on the pedal. Normally its around 6.5-6.7. But as I mentioned, I have a friend here trying MHD as well and he is struggling so much. He was doing better times stock then now with stage 2. He already received 4-5 maps but never with an significant improvement. They are going back and forth but I hope they get to resolve it. The map developer from MHD is a pretty experienced guy, with his own tuning company and several M5 F10s out there running great. So I just dont understand why they are struggling to provide a decent map for through MHD.
@@VehicleVirals and I forgot, so it was in the night with around 12-13 Celsius and pull was 3rd gear cause 2nd is not really necessary for these cars as they have enough torque and you are just spinning wheels for no reason
@@thomasshelby3178 I was informed that later model F10 M5's (2016) have a different DME /ROM. That might be the root to my issues with the stage 2 map.

Yo bro I just got a E93 335i. What is all the maintenance that I need to do to the car so the car can hold 700-800hp and what performance mods/ bolts on do I need to get there?

@@erikmoreno5111 and it looks different under the car, not all the exhaust fits without cutting or moving things:)
Valve cleaning (walnut blast or use CRC DI valve cleaner and gun brushes), all of the leaky gaskets (oil pan, oil filter housing gasket, valve cover / valve cover gasket), Spark plugs, get rid of the Clutch Delay Valve (if manual). Replace the injectors with index 12 if necessary.... you'll more than likely blow your water pump.... and you may as well do the thermostat at the same time.... and then just do all the fluids in the car....

Throttle closures on OTS maps is not so rare, I had some on my N54 as well. Not all tunes run the same on every car.
I had f06 m6 pre lci down pipe + custom tune and I was doing 100-200 in 6.6 with some wheelspin so I had traction issue, 100-200 6.9 for 10k$ in mods is slow, somethings off

Yeah, doesn't even have to be 50D because he would build it anyways so 35D would be enough, I guess you'll get better trim and more capable trans in the 50d tho. I own n57 330d and with upgraded turbo, intake, intercooler and dpf delete running around 450hp, have to get it on a dyno but the torque is crazy compared to a friends 335I which has similar power. For towing propably would get 5 series but for the looks I prefer 3 series e9x / f3x. Mines E91 2011 with a manual.

@@simpsie561 I am definitely on the same page with you, I daily mine and would be much more interested in diesel content because it'd more relateable for me since I have many of them and only one petrol which is 318i cabrio.. Diesel car would definitely attract more people from europe where diesels are common unlike in the states.
@@nikopalonen92 Yes indeed, The N57 , M57 is a good engine for example…E92 335d, 435d , 550d etc….They are very good engines for tuning, You can easily get 400-500 bhp and 900-1000nm…and still get like 30mpg
You should check your wastegates. I think they have to much play and your boost is not consistent. That is why the throttle bodies comes in to play and starts to limit the boost.

Mine is a 2015 M5 Competition and I can tell it pulls much harder/faster than yours is. Ah ha, dropped the tune and it was flawless.
Mine is tuned and putting down right at 700hp with pro tuning freaks tranny tune and bootmod tune, as well as project gamma charge coolers, coolant lines and intakes. Full armytrix exhaust. It’s brutal!

I had issues with BM3 on my N55 M135i, making only 380hp and as soon as I go to MHD Stage2+ my car makes 410+.
Every car reacts differently to tunes, not sure why but data logging is important for sure!

Yo bro I have a f12 m6 with stage 2 tune trust me when I tell you put Michelin sport 4s 305 in back and you will never spin again!! and if you do it will be Minimal! my 60 to 130 with stage 2 tune msr intakes ssp clutch and tuner exhaust are low 7! I’m going pure turbos with matching tune this summer after ppf!!!

@@VehicleVirals be mindful that I do have the stock 10.5 m6 rims on the rear and the 305s did tuck my rims in a lil more took some getting use too! my car is lowered I will say the 305s filled in the space And sat flush on the body pros and con I know you have car Ocd like me lol
I can only fit 295 PS4S, but I still spin bad in 2nd and even in 3rd on my 93oct stage 2+ tune from Evolve. I'm in the low 7's even with spinning, maybe a high 6 with better tires... 🤔

Brother I only watched a few minutes of your pulls. I needed to bounce. I think you have a slight drop in RPM drop after each gear change. For a split second.
I have a F13 M6. Catless downpipes, stock intakes with drop in filters, SSP clutches. 7.11 sec on stage 2 MHD
What was your 60-130mph time stock? 100-200kmh?
Man, this is not what I wanted to see. I'll let you know how it ends up on mine if I bump up to stage 2. Stage 1 so far has been good no hiccups so far.

Great vid. I can literally hear the clutch(es) slipping. You’ll burn them clean off sooner than later. Slippery clutches 60-130 kills the draggy times. Stock can be faster. Better clutch kit will get you 6.5s on any decent stage 2. Keep it up

91 oct bm3 stage 2 100-200 solid 6.0-6.2 0 slope
Usually its 60mph to 120mph, standard is about 7ish seconds, stage 2 should be about 6.2s which is quick.
I did 7.1 on mhd ots e30 and water meth not tuned in.
