They should do that for the boat robots too. Their info text literally says their probe to killing their masters and wandering the world alone.

Yes it would be peak Skaven immersion. But I have no idea why he kept saying that. I've never had globadiers damaging themselves, or any artillery piece damage itself either.
@@Khalkara I mean poison wind globadiers could hit themselves if the target they are throwing at is too close to them I think? Not that I've ever myself tried to get them into that close range.

@@xiii0722 yes the ammount of ammo and winds of magic you have left is counted for your balance of power so if your army is ranged heavy and spends all their ammo even if they suffer 0 losses they will get a close victory after the battle because they used all their resources
Among Skaven there is no friendly fire. Only Co-rateral damage!
(And yes, that was a official ability name that allow them to shoot into melee, when no other army could).
The loyalty mechanic should translate into battles where "friendly fire" risk. The we should have a bit more balance in the game;);)

@@TehAsianator Yeah firing into a combat between a block of 50 or 100 skavenslves and a pricey unit of dwarves or chaos warriors or elf something or others with a pair of ratlings guns or a warpfire thrower or poison wind mortar was great.

lol that Doomsphere is basically rubbing it in at that point. Imagine losing to some rats and your capital gets nuked by the same rats on the same day.

@Hammer Go Bonk! violent uprising or waiting until everything falls apart completely before rebuilding from scratch tend to be the paths that are chosen most often in situations like this. it is somewhat fascinating from a history-in-the-making perspective to be an outside observer, though I imagine having to live in such a place must be horrible. Maybe a political system with more than 2 parties and with elements of the justice system (e.g. District Attorneys) NOT being allowed to use their positions to play politics could contribute to the solution.

defending in a siege is this game is 10000 times more fun than attacking, this also goes for watching sieges
I feel like i NEVER play a siege on defence tho
Because it’s ether a stomp and not worth fighting or so hopeless it wouldn’t matter if you fought it.
Only time I've ever had fun with defense sieges is usually when chaos would invade and attack cities I couldn't immediately help out

It is very rare though, specially at the early and late game, the AÍ won’t usually attack walled settlement at all, because they mostly don’t target them, and when they do, then don’t attack they just sit there, but most of the time when I’m attacked it is 4 stacks agains 1 garrison, or not siege battles at all, which is kind of sad :/ and attacking settlements is soooooo easy to cheese that it is not fun? Either that or you are consciously suiciding units for the sake of making it “fair”

After playing Skryre I understood why tower defense games are so popular on mobile, the feeling of having a stack of jezzails, rattling guns, mortars and plague catapults raining green death on the enemy is satisfying as fuuuck.

You get so many amazing battles to fight. Would be really great if a link could be posted for these disaster battles. I know I would like to try a lot of them I see, there is only so much can be learned from watching. Guessing many would like to see if they can succeed before watching how you do it, also. Could be cool like agadmator does in his chess channel, pauses to let you try and figure out the best move, to have a regular section at start of saving disaster videos, to give link and chance to download and try battle before watching on.

Walls were so good in Shogun 2. 4 Samurai Archers on the walls was all you needed to fend off a stack from any castle.
and ME2. id hold off the entire mongol invasion in one, triple walled nicaea castle..
The best experience I had was playing as the Otomo gang. The attackers didn’t even usually come close before routing off cause they either get pissed scared by matchlocks or unmounted blunderbuss.
@@kreuzrittergottes9336 playing as the English, set up stakes at every entrance, camp the control point and watch as the Mongols kill themselves as they rush in every time they break another gate. Fun and effective with minimal effort!
I member in Roma Barbarian Invasion. Resisted to 4000 huns with like 500 pretorians and those massive ballista walls. Just had to burn their battering rams.

I had one doomstack composed by: ikit on a doomwheel, 1 plague priest, 1 doom engineer, 2 hell pit abominations, 3 doomwheels, 3 ratling guns, 3 jezzails, 2 poison wind mortars, 2 warp cannons and 2 catapults. And the garrison of the city that was mainly infantry: clanrats, skavenslaves, shadow runners and that kind of stuff. Just crap units.
I was attacked by 4 full stacks of too tier bretonians, includind leouen Leoncoure and the Fay enchantress commanding 2 armies.
Man the destruction. The obliteration. I had never won a battle in such a disgustingly awesome way. It was mesmerizing lol. They just died one after the other trying to get close and the only thing I saw was an amazing tide of green stuff flying everywhere. It was a thing of beauty. Oh I love Skaven...
Watching Skaven weapons team at work is just so satisfying

Clan Skryre are definitely one of the best factions in the game, and for me the most fun one
I love it when the warp weapon was firing in the air. That shit looked like some WWII stuff with the AA guns.
Seeing all those green plasma kind of reminds me of the Necron gauss weapons from the classic Dawn of War games & Battlefleet Gothic Armada.
Every day, I increasingly believe that Legend is a Skavan Warlock Engineer wearing a Human suit, readying to build a warpstone portal on Earth and bring Nurgle's blight to us all.

The Horned Rat has too many similarities to Nurgle to ignore, it is heavily implied that he is Nurgle under a different name.

their descriptions are on some aspects similar, but very different in others.
The main difference being that nurgle is part of a cycle of life and death, meanwhile the horned rat is just entropy. (I know they have different aspects as well I just won't bother writing them here)
Also the horned rat is very similar to tcheench as well.
@@sirkana The Horned Rat is his own God. That's how the Warp works, any collective belief, by enough warp sensitive beings, for long enough will create that God. It's also how Sigmar became a god, well, the idea of Sigmar. The human version is long dead. The four big bad Chaos Gods are nothing to do with belief, but a perverted, twisted version of nature and reality as it is, so when they get powered by belief they are that much stronger and unlike other gods, truly immortal as long as life exists in some form. Meanwhile without Skaven the Horned Rat will die, or more accurately, fade away. Same for Orcs and Gork and Mork and any God specific to a Race/Faction.
While some like the idea of Nurgle/Tzeentch being the Horned Rat, it does not work do the conflicting nature of certain Skaven clans. The plague priests could certainly be followers of Nurgle, and Moulder could be followers of Tzeentch, but the others do not fit those two gods ideologies for them to be the Horned Rat.

personally, I like the globadiers, if you put them on a sideways wall that gives them a view of the gate they can wipe out people trying to use rams. The rat ogres are also good for sallies due to how quick they are compared to inf. You can also deploy any vanguard units like gutter runners outside the walls, good for harassing approaching armies and keeping them within your tower's kill zones for longer.
If the enemy has towers, concentrate on the walls there, as the enemy AI will use towers over docking siege ladders.

Also at about 11:00 the amount of concentrated fire was like something out of Aliens or Starship Troopers. Cant see the enemy through the green.
poison globe throwers can 100% be the best damage dealer in an army, they just spread their damage out so they rarely get entity kills. they also essentially can not miss which no one talks about, thats huge considering base accuracy chance in this game is 10%

you should consider making it a rule to only accept skaven disaster battles if there's a doomsphere primed to detonate over the endturn

May I ask something? I recently started playing this game, and my first playthrough is Skryre. But I don't have this many units in my squads, not even near. So my question is - is it a work of a mod that you have that many or they simply just reduced amount of units in patches since July?
