Ha Giang Loop Day 1 - Two Americans 1 Bike Zero License. What Could Go Wrong?

Day 1 of our 6 day tour on a motorbike started off.... Well not great to be honest. The haze in the sky, smog mixed with fog was horrible. From Hanoi to Ha Giang it almost looked like it got swept by an apocalypse. The air quality was terrible, the visibility was just about zero, but that actually wasn't the stressor that was on our mind. What we were really worried about was the fact that up in this region of Vietnam they are pretty serious about having an international drivers license. So serious that if caught in the city they impound your Motorbike for two weeks and fine you. And if you haven't guessed it, I don't have an international drivers license. With all this going against us we almost decided to just bail on the whole thing. But that's just not in our nature! So we threw caution in the wind and decided to build a strategy and take off bright and early. Illegally starting the greatest adventure yet in Vietnam. Did we pull it off??

Yeah lol. They wanted 2million. I tried to negotiate bc it’s suppose to be 1.5. It didn’t work. I paid. Walked out. Was about to ride off. Then they called me back in. Gave me 500k back. Idk why and off I went. lol
