    Hi Travis in Da Nang and have been following your video tips! Good stuff thanks! It looks like I’ll do Cao Bang instead of the Ha Giant loop your video changed my mind. BTW Dirty fingers has pulled pork and pastrami as good as Texas!

    i lived at a homestay at Ban Gioc for a month for free teaching English to the homestay host's kids. in 2020. Best experience of my life. Cao Bang rocks. the road to the waterfall is beyond epic. Done the HGL twice during covid when there were no tourists and the Ma Pi Leng pass is the highlight so we so stayed in Dong Van for a week and rode to Meo Vac and back every day. Been to Bao Lac too and stayed there for a month. Northern Vietnam is so beautiful. Nice video.

    I did 4 days around Ha Giang back in 2018 and its probably still in my top 5 life experiences. I'm heading back to Vietnam for the second time this coming January and I was contemplating whether I should do Ha Giang again or if I should check out Cao Bang and you've definitely convinced me. I was worried that Ha Giang might be suffering a bit from overtourism - it kinda felt like it was on the cusp of it when I was there. Great to hear an up-to-date perspective!

    • @TravisTravelsVN
      @TravisTravelsVN  Месяц назад

      Ya man, I have to agree Ha Giang is an amazing experience but my point is that there are several other routes around Vietnam with equally stunning views and way less overtourism and police. Especially if you've already done it, you should experience something brand new. Check out my travel group, I'll help you plan the trip if you need anything www.skool.com/travel-vietnam/about

    • @TravisTravelsVN
      @TravisTravelsVN  14 дней назад +1

      You can do the waterfall and big cave near there in one day. Then drive about 1.5 hours to Nha Moc Homestay. Right next to Nui Mat Than (Angel Eye Mountain). Then back to Cao Bang city for a perfect 2-3 day trip.

    Hey there, thanks for the video, really enlightened me about Cao Bang. I am planning a trip to Vietnam and unfortunately I only got a month to travel and I have budgeted 5 nights in Sa Pa, 3 nights in Cao Bang and 3 nights in Trang An Ninh Binh. Ofc I will be in other places throughout the month but I wanted to hear your suggestions - is this enough nights at those places or do I need to spend a bit more and take out some nights in other places.

    • @TravisTravelsVN
      @TravisTravelsVN  13 дней назад

      What month are you coming? 5 nights is a lot in Sapa unless you will do some trekking or driving around in the area. Of course it's fine if you are just wanting to chill out for a few days and relax. Ha Long Bay is definitely worth doing a cruise just for a night. Da Nang for beach vibes and sunny weather.

    • @roeirotenberg8403

      @@TravisTravelsVN Thanks for the reply! I will be in Vietnam all of March. I budgeted 4 nights in Cat Ba island + cruise to Ha Long Bay. 3 nights in Trang An, 4 in Da Nang and 2 in Nha Trang (on top of what I wrote earlier). It can all be changed ofc. Is there another place im missing? Or take a night or 2 from Sa Pa into another area? Im not sure how easy it is to rent and use a scooter, cause this way I assume I can get to see more of Sa Pa.

    Hi, going to Vietnam soon. Just wondering about this loop, and also about the Ha Giang Loop. Can you buy a map, are there signs on the roads, is there some kind of app for your route ? And how about sleeping arrangements? Do you make an educated guess where you will be at the end of the day and make a reservation ? Or do you just drive and when you are tired, look for a hotel/guesthouse? How does this all work ? Thanks a lot, nice video!

      Lời khuyên của tôi: Nếu bạn muốn thực hiện chuyến đi "Ha Giang Loop" hay khám phá các tỉnh vùng núi phía bắc Việt Nam, vậy đừng đến vào tháng 7 và tháng 8. Khoảng thời gian này là mùa mưa, sẽ có một số vụ sạt lở trên các con đường đèo. Thời gian đẹp là vào tháng 10 ( mùa lúa chín ), và tháng 11 ( mùa hoa cải ).
      Ngoài ra, tháng 6 là tháng nóng nhất trong năm, bất kể miền nam hay miền bắc. Vì vậy nếu bạn không thích nghi được với nhiệt độ trên 36 độ, vậy hãy loại bỏ tháng này ra khỏi danh sách.

      Sure,
      bus to and from Hanoi-Cao Bang 15x2 = $30
      Bike rental $10/day x 4 = $40
      Homestay average $20/night including beers/meals = $80
      Add maybe another $20-30 for lunches and roadside beers here and there
      Easily under $200 for the whole trip
