Siem Reap: No Guides | Just Two Americans Exploring By Scooter

Sometimes when you travel without a strict itinerary, plans change. Sometimes you hear about a new foodie hub or other times a local puts a new location on the map for you. Siem Reap, Cambodia was neither of these two reasons! We came here on a whim because of the burning that happens yearly in northern Thailand, that completely envelops the area including Laos and parts of Vietnam. Wanting to avoid breathing in smoke for a month. We decided on Cambodia. The theme of Cambodia is going out on whim. With little to no planning and not knowing anything about the culture we were shocked on what we found. Day after day we learned more and started to fall in love with this beautiful country and its people. Siem Reap was the perfect place to start learning about ancient Khmer culture and the religions that keep the foundations of the country together even to this day. The old and the new all mixed together. Let’s discovery what Siem Reap is all about as we start our travels through Cambodia!
