Harbor Freight has a battery operated water pump (not expensive) so you can pump water from a containr to the interior 20 gal tank. We used 5 gal pails from Home Depot to transport water. Also their are many types of small space heaters, propane etc. that may solve your heating problem. Leave a window open, a little, for air and moisture control. Wish you well.
.....I bought a small 12 volt battery water transfer pump from harbor freight 2 years ago and use it once every 10 days or so and it works really great ....I use it to fill up my camper when on the road at truck stops or out at my camps , from my back up 6 gal. blue square water storage cubes ....got the blue cubes at Walmart .
Welcome to truck camper life. You may want to contact the local propane company and rent (or buy) a 125 gallon tank and have it set near your camper. The delivered propane would be much less in cost per gallon. Enjoy your camper!
Good for you guys! Way to take control of your lifes, as things change you adjust. Compared to alot of other people in the younger generations would just complain and whine about what "didn't" get handed to them. Not you guys, taking care of yourselves. Great job!!!
I’m here for survival, guiding tips for living in a camper. It’s a bit small for me. But when America is so expensive to living in a house this is going to be the new normal. Very nice video
Make a shelter over it - just a basic sloped roof - to take care of the leaks. Get a diesel heater and a couple of good deep-cycle leisure batteries. Generator for AC if you really need it - you can get propane converted generators too.
The only way to deal surg your condensation issues is a diesel heater, they are cheap, super efficient and the dry heat is perfect for the condensation. I've lived in mine for 4 years and speak from experience. I'm so glad I put one in.
Get yourself a small and quiet generator to run the AC unit in the summer . I carrry and use a champion 2000 watt generator for those emergency times i need to run my AC , or charge up my house batteries during a week long cloudy, rainy situation . Also i run a diesel heater as my primary heat source wich is a dryer heat and does not cause condensation like a propane heater ...i do carry a back up little buddy heater just in case thou . Ok my 2 cents ..... been on the road living in my camper for years now and know a couple tips ....ok enjoy and have fun with it ....cheers 👍
@@Journey_To_Nowhere _Agree_ with ^above^. I have a bus with diesel central heating - it is going through a major re-fit right now so I have a caravan to stay in and have transferred some of my heating system over to keep me alive this winter. A decent size diesel tank, good batteries and a cheap forced-air diesel heater will keep you in luxury all winter.
Make sure you do not put a higher amp fuse on the heater electrical. Use a circuit breaker or buy a lot of right amp rating fuses for it. If you just put in a higher amp fuse .. this will cause the wiring in the camper to het up and can melt and cause a fire. Make sure you have ladder or something to get out of the unit if the entry door is blocked by a fire. Consider a silver trap to put on the top as well as sealing it... for it will help protect with snow etc. on it. New non leaking RV owners will use tarps too..
Change all lights to LED .... you should pobably get an addotional battery too. Also get some additional heating sources like a MrBuddy.... keep your tanks from freezing...save your furnace for overnight use. Damp-rid and open a vent for condensation control problem... Don't use flex seal on the roof. Eternabond tape for seams or dicore self leveling.
Go buy a big bag of charcoal (for grilling) an cut the top off an let it sit in a corner or.you can seperate it into littlier bags to spread it out but the charcoal will suck up all that moisture also works to just throw a couple pieces in your toolbox it'll keep all your tools from rusting from the weather changes!
Explore the purchase of a diesel heater as will make your cold weather nights no problem, easy of the battery and save your propane for your refrigerator.
I had a 1995 Shadow cruiser parked next to my mobile home. I lived in the camper instead of my mobile home coz that’s how much I enjoyed staying in the camper. I still used my mobile home to shower and use the bathroom in. My camper developed a roof leak around the skylight and ruined it. Sometimes I took it camping with my 1969 ford f 100 it was a nice set up. I misss my truck camper thanx for sharing
Hey, ACE Hardware will do the propane tank inspections and certification for $10. I just had to have one done here in North Carolina. They also fill propane tanks.
That was a fantastic buy for$ 700 + !!! I own a 2006 Lance truck camper and love it. It’s cozy 😊 Honda 2000 generator and a Buddy heater will help your winter along for power and heat Good luck !
So essentially you paid less for a home to live in then you were paying rent… way to go. So are you 2 still in college? If not what do you do working wise? I’m excited to see your channel grow and to see when yall get to take your bus and go dirt biking!! So here for it.

I have a 1986 F250. The Northstar is 2001. And Ben drives the Versa at the moment for the winter but has a Subaru Baja that he normally drives. And my truck is stock height.
Hi just found your channel. I look forward to more videos in the future. It was a bit hard to search your channel due to a popular cartoon called Gwen and Ben 🤷🏻♀️ this may stop some people from finding you just an fyi 👍🏻

You can buy an item called Rid that will help with the condensation.
awesome, I will look into it, thank you!
Flex seal works great but make sure to clean and prep the areas pre application.
I even patched huge cat claw holes in my waterbed and no issues.
Nice camper
Buddy heater!!!!
Great Deal ! Best of Luck. Just Subbed
truck campers are the smartest way to travel and live. good, wise choice.

Ever thought about getting a generator to charge your battery on the camper

The bracket for the table bottom is only $9.00 at the rv center near me. Unless you really want to make one yourself, just google rv table base.
If you are fairy close to a health club like planet fitness you could use it for showers. Saves water and resolves some of your condensation problems.
That was a fantastic buy for$ 700 + !!!

So here for it.
We both graduated college. Ben works at a performance care shop as a mechanic and I work as a service advisor for a mechanic shop.
How do you see a stop light signal through the cab over section?
