Fading down is a technique more barbers should get a custom with. One of the easiest ways to get that blurry look on your fades. It is a master technique.
@@shehateme9955 I'm a big believe in its not the clippers, it's the barber. You should find a clipper that you're comfortable with. I'm an "old school" barber so I still prefer the Adis masters and and the Walh's seniors. Both brands to me have a variety of clippers. Great tutorial...fading down method. Definitely learned alot. 90 percent of young guys coming up get the low temp fade...fade the neck our. If you can do this cut...you can pretty much master anything. Very popular cut...not an easy cut.
I hope barbers see this all over the country cause taking tapers too high is common. You explain this to them and they seem to understand and boom when they give you mirror, everytime it’s too high smh never fails. I only have one barber who understands what you are showing. Cut my hair for over 20 years but I moved 😟😫😩 I keep switching searching for the right barber and who understands..I want a low taper!!!!
I’m new to cutting hair and have been struggling to keep my tapers low. This video will definitely help, I will be using this technique on myself and others.
Yesterday I just upgraded from a corded Legend to a cordless Magic Clip and my first self cut with the Clip was great. Some of the best blending I've ever done, but I did blend too high (shorter stretch bracket on the Magic Clip). This video was timely af for me! 🎯
@@Seancutshair agreed.. what goes unnoticed is how you are much more free to move around and get the proper lighting on your hair, whereas corded you may be stuck to a particular angle to the lights and always missing certain spots of hair.
I got staggered tooth ceramic blades on three of my clippers because of the magic clips, I don’t like the short battery on the magics working at the shop but other than that the magics are money, the weight and speed of the clippers are good for blending.
@@jt2475 do you think ceramic blades stay sharp longer than steel? Also which blades did you go with? I see a bunch on Amazon and half of the comments for them make it seem as though they don't fit the magic clip cam follower shape.
Definitely learned or should I say Definitely will use that technique.. it really helps with the longer hair and not taking the fade too high. Thanks for the tips fam
one taper is higher than the other which shows that while it’s easier to not go super high on the taper, it’s also more likely to not match both of the sides to each other. clean cut tho 👌🏽
I learned that you’re not gonna say any names… But to eliminate going too high it is necessary to check yourself by stacking guards right on top of one another
This the only way i Cut frfr Start off wit the biggest guard imma use and fade down, it's so much easier to prevent mistakes like that n it's jus how I like to do it
Appreciate the slow teaching in the beginning and then the speed up through the rest but you must show a slow it down video of the back because he had some difficult hair to blend in the back 😂 But it looked like you had to take the 2 up a little higher and then work back down. Looked real clean great job my brother 🔥🔥
Good video fam 💯 I just got my rebels and saber trimmers after speaking on the last video , I have 2 questions . Do you use the stretch bracket and also do clipper guards make a difference ? I feel like the stylecraft ones are different but it could be just me coming from wahl guards
What barber chair do you use? Looks like you can easily walk around the front of the client. At my school we use salon chairs and you can’t even get to the peoples face without leaning over and almost falling in their lap
Hi Sean, I have a question that I hope you could shed some light on. If I am trying a technique, say a fade that’s less compacted and more stretched out…. Using predominantly 1.5 guard above/after the bald guideline… what are the guards+lever settings you’d recommend? (The reason being, is that after the bald or no guard.. the 1 guard is so hard to see when cutting my own hair… I do like the 1.5 as it’s more noticeable and easier to manage/use when doing self cuts) Thank you
man I wish you would of done the back part of the taper in slow with the step by step this is dope thanks new to barbering learning a lot. if you can do a back part of a taper step by step thanks
I work in a high end shop, charging top dollar for haircuts and we don’t see a whole lot of bald fades or tapers like these. Would love to see some more kind of grown up professional haircuts. People working high paying jobs in tech or finance, law firms or in medicine just can’t really be rocking with the majority or the haircuts I see on RUclips.
Strange 🤔 from guard stacking to a conventional taper in same video. Only difference I seen was using the #4 guard first to take out bulk rather than using the #4 guard last. No pun intended. Keep pushing the dope videos out. ✌️
I wanted him to mention some of those barbers names so badly because there are lots of barbers out here that’ll put a sharp lining on you but the taper won’t look that good; especially with some of the prices they charge for a haircut 🤦🏾♂️
Yo I got braids could you do a video doing a taper with braids maybe ? Thanks bro that taper was perfect I been asking for a taper like this my whole life
The issue I always run into is I don’t know how high to go after changing the guard and when you detail do you detail dark spots around the head or do you have to detail by pushing the blend up
@@Seancutshair what are the guards that I should use if I do a medium fade and I want the lowest number at the bottom to be a closed 1 guard and the top a 6 guard? Thanks in advance.
I think that most barbers don't realize that a taper fade really is just that - a taper, mixed with a fade. The bottom is a fade and all of the bulk is a taper. I do something similar where I'll set in my initial (lowest) level and then my largest level - fade the bottom a little, use whatever guard is the "middle level" between the two points and taper from middle to top and then bottom (or, top of the fade) to middle.
