How to Paint The Skaven Clawlord on Gnaw-beast from Skaventide! Easy and Fast scheme!

This model was the standout release from the Skaventide set and I'm glad to have him painted finally! Even though this Skaven Clawlord on Gnaw-beast looks complicated, it's really just a big rat sitting on top of a bigger rat! I used the Verminus scheme for this model, but I might mix things up across the army! Hope you enjoy the painting guide and let me know what other videos you want to see from the Skaventide set!

Basing scheme:
AK Terrain Dark Earth texture paste
Ryza Rust (dry) brush
Screaming Skull (layer) dry brush

Here's how and why I prime the way I do!
Two different rattle/spray cans are used-one full solid coat of black, and a lighter coat of grey seer sprayed from above to add light/dark areas. The lighter coating of grey seer adds a small amount of grit(too small for the eye to see) from to give the contrast paint a better surface to cling too. Contrast paints don’t work well on black primers, the colours won’t show up well.

Dark Elves will happen don't worry! Trying to go along with the supported 9 armies as they're released while dipping into the legacy armies as I start them too! Thanks man, it's a lot of work but it's nice to see it paying off

I'll be painting mine in Grey Seer Thanquol's army colours. I spent this morning priming everything, but I've been unable to sit and actually apply paint due to my trapped nerve, which I think might be a hospital trip to solve. 😢
I'd say get the Jezzails out the way first, then do the big cannon last as it's a wonderful centre piece model.
Oh no! That’s not good at all, please go get that sorted and don’t try to push through it-it will only delay healing! Hope it’s a simple enough fix man, things like that suck for the hobby!
Best part of skaven is there isn't a skaven faction that functions as only one clan type. So you can have. A skaven force with mixed colors

Love your content Andy. When you prime, do you use rattle can? How long do you wait between black and Grey Seer? I tried to find a video, but got impatient 😆. I’m going to use Clan Pestilens and Astral Templars for my Skaventide box.
