He was off from the word go…I feel like he doesn’t feel like he’s a part of the stand-up group sometimes. He’s hesitant to take the leap (maybe family and I get it) but to me if Matt’s not on point during the episode it suffers more than ever! He’s best with someone to bounce off of but he just has to transition it to stand-up…seems like more of a confidence thing than anything…he clearly has the talent and the funny. It’s not the first time he has taken a back seat and I don’t like it lol

@@Retrievinggold very true, I didn’t finish the McBride epp, makes sense why now if Matt was off. But that’s a credit to Shane also like you say, he sets Matt up and Matt rarely misses but I get it. I’m a decent story teller but absolutely have to have someone to bounce off of…and I played solo music gigs for over a decade ( I got paid but it was a hobby) but standing up alone trying to be funny would be a disaster but the level these guys are at all it takes is time and that being the focus focus and Matt would destroy in stand-up. I was hoping his special getting good numbers would light a fire under his motivation and attention to stand-up and he would put more out. I got into the pod late but have listened through the collection multiple times…which is my point of all this we need more content in any form from Matt and Shane.

When Howie went on Kill Tony, he commanded both Hans Kim and Kam Patterson to call their fathers live. They both submitted and Howie cruelly mocked both of their dads in a very dark unfunny, out of touch way. When Howie commanded our dear Matthew to name his cousin, Matt laughed it off instantly and said "No, of course I won't betray my family for this." There's no messing with the shaman; his powers of perception are too keen.
It might be me being soft but the some of the older generation like him and Bobby Kelly just come across as horrible rather than funny

It was so nice for Howie and Sam to have these two guys on their podcast. That Matt guy is really weird though. All he talked about was trying to get hard while looking at 3 men, how fast turtles are, his "cousin" calling a neighbor congratulating them on killing their dog, and danced for everyone without consent.

When Howie said discomfort is his happy place all the super uncomfortable blank stares at sam made sense lol. At first I was genuinely worried that it would be just 1.5 hours of awkwardness, but instead this is one of the funniest casts in a while. Sam is an absolute killer and Howie can clearly tell. Also Howie is way funnier than I expected him to be (had no idea he was a standup)
Matt’s Theory on where kissing comes from is exactly why I love this show. Never change Matt.
