I have no idea why I'm watching this, I have no experience in making music, I've never made music before, but suddenly LMMS fascinates me and I feel like learning how to use it. Thankyou for this series.
This is without doubt the best tutorial I have found.... good steady pace and I'm actually getting somewhere. Been trying for years but always lost the will to live! Full marks and please keep them coming.... how many are there to learn so far?
Lesson THREE down and I LOVE the way you are going step by step. The beauty of the "pause" button is something we all wish we had in live classrooms! This helps all of us so if somebody picks it up faster... then you can move right along without slowing the rest of the class down. Bravo! Subscribed!
I'm watching with you on one screen and lmms on the second one, following along and everytime I learn something new I am so excited! Finaaally, I have songs and beats playing non stop in my head, now I will finally get it out. THANK YOU!!
bro thanks for these tutorials you actually explain what you are doing and why instead of other tutorials where they just do it and expect you to know what the hell they are doing haha looking forward to the rest of these tutorials
So far three tutorials in two days. Not too fast, not too slow, and SO EASY TO FOLLOW. I'm lucky to have a wide monitor so I have your tutorial on the left and my LMMS app on the right. This works perfectly.
Wow so this is a tutorial. Man thank you so much i started to migrate my life to software libre just a few days and i was afraid in not finding something like fruity loops for Linux. Now i'm really loving the LMMS. thank you from Rio,/Brazil!
thanks dude, i just started getting to lmms and your tutorial actually helped. i learned on how to use the bassline editor properly now. i just started messing with sample and it actually... kinda worked. but whatever, this tutorial is sick. earned a new sub
I've been using various sequencers for years and thought I could figure it out without reading any manual, but this one had me stumped. I never even noticed the tiny icons on the left side - I was looking in every menu and clicking every combination to try to find how to add new loops and sounds to the drum pattern. Of course it all seems 'duh' at this point, lol. Thanks - now I know where to come for more tips and tricks.
LMMS works well on an modern laptops (less than 5 years old...?). The only performance increase between laptop and desktop will be speed when exporting & rendering audio. A desktop might also have a larger screen, which is nice for software like this.
I just discovered lmms today and for basics when I searched I found Ur vids I liked them a lot and am going to make my own music and post on my yt channel called phantom page Subbed to u
I have a some problem: I want to have 2 beat/baselines. (one is a variation of the other) Can I copy/paste an entire beat/baseline? Can I copy an instrument (eg. the kicker) from one beat/baseline to another? And how do I avoid that a change, for example to the kicker, affects both beat/baselines?
Same here. I can't get rid of any highlighted squares like at 1:39 and it's driving me mad. It might not matter but there must be some way to remove one. No, ctrl, opt, or shift clicking don't do it. If anyone has worked it out please post!
Hello, thanks very much for the tutorial! I have a question: the volume in LMMS drum sample sounds are CRAZY LOUD!! when I click to hear what they sound like. This doesn't happen when I use my VST instruments, they are at a normal volume when I check what they sound like and in piano roll. Any idea how I can fix this ? Solutions would be very much appreciated!
Why is there no playhead position indicator in the Beat Editor? When I write a beat with more than 8 bars I find it very difficult to keep track of where I am. How do you all handle this?
It depends on you're laptop and OS. Sometimes 2 fingers (multi touch) up and down will simular a scroll wheel. Some touch pads have an area to one side that acts as the scroll wheel (may need to be enabled in the OS). There is not a specific setting for this in LMMS that I am aware of.
When I add my composition to the song editor, then try to make a NEW baseline it erases what I previously added to the song editor... its just silent. What gives?
Bro can you solve my problem in my lmms when I make a bass beat and then I play only that beat ever note start I listen a small click sound why pls reply
I know this is a lil old...but does anyone know how to seperate each track from the bassline editor to be able to arrange in the song editor..im only a few weeks into using it and a new computer owner?
