I’ve seen this watch in person and it is an absolute exquisite, magnificent watch! I think what most people get wrong with this particular model is that they compare it with the normal Speedmaster and think Omega just changed the movement and then charges double the price. But everything about this watch is on an entire different level than the regular model - the finishing, the details, the whole look and feel is just much more luxurious. It is like an old Porsche 911 built from scratch with much better materials and the advantages of modern manufacturing. Yes, the new 911 might be faster (as is the normal Speedmaster more accurate) - but the rebuilt version is just much more spectacular.

@@WatchAdvisor Thanks. The movement is amazing as we all know. What's more is that the bracelet is so comfy which is also kind of expected due to the similar bracelet that has been used in the AP 50th. It looks like a different speedy even from a distance. Great in-depth review Alexander with Gregory from Omega. I’ve been wanting to see the 321 in person. But as you know this is a limited production piece. Last night, I happen to go to an event that my Omega boutique invited me. It was a great event and was able to meet other watch enthusiasts. I was lucky to meet someone who had the 321 timepiece. She was nice enough to show me the watch. The bracelet is absolutely stunning. I’ve never seen a bracelet like this one. It is definitely lighter than the Moonwatch bracelet that I have. The 321 movement is absolutely beautiful. I could not stop looking at this well designed timepiece. I’m convinced that this will be my next watch in my collection. I have a special birthday coming up in the next few months and my boutique is aware of this special moment. Alexander, thank you again for all you do for our watch community.

Finally bought one fully stickered on secondary market. It is a shining beauty and the matte dial looks so much better than the matte plastic look of the 3861 in bright sun.
Another first for you Alexander - Great watch and I think the price is justified in lieu of the amount of hand finishing to the case and movement. The fact that the movement will be finished by one watchmaker is special/bespoke. A little nod to your attention to detail too Alexander, with the Omega book located over your right shoulder - Loved it 😂
This is the perfect remake of an iconic Speedmaster with modern means. Just as it was, but under all aspects a modern watch. The 2,5 Hz are part of the history of the chronograph calibre... in the past they all indicated 1/5th of a second on the dial...
Great video Alexander and beautiful watch; however, having owned multiple Speedmasters the Ed White release just illuminated what an amazing value proposition the hesalite or the sapphire sandwich truly are in contrast to the Ed White. Cheers
Call the "Ed White" the King of Speedmaster chronographs ... Yes, I agree with you the value proposition of the classical Speedmaster simply is amazing ...
@@WatchAdvisor yeah, I know. Sad. They did it on purpose to make this watch much more exclusive. Aside from the limited 321 movement, the exclusive bracelet helps Omega warrant the much higher price.
Rolex ADs do in fact play silly games with their clients... not all of them of course, but a waste majority... It is a smart move to not play the game... @@WatchAdvisor oh, just that the usually speedmaster pro's omega logo is printed and on that Ed White, it's a shiny raised actual emblem. It's something else like it's really out of this world nice!
The watch is one of the all time best! Being a book lover myself, seeing your great library at the beginning of the video makes me think how interesting it would be to have a video of you discussing watch books! ! I have many myself, with “The wristwatch handbook” by Ryan Schmidt being my favorite.
The Speedmaster line is excellent. Omega is great at attention to detail, technology and heritage. In the future it would be interesting to see the same high passion for some other lines.
@@WatchAdvisor They and you probably know it better than me. Seamaster? Maybe upgrade the PO bracelet design slightly. And to carefully evolve and perfect the case and dial design. If people can't get the Submariner, maybe they would choose an Omega instead.
A stainless case, 40-41mm and not too thick, ceramic bezel insert. I was keen to buy the old PO 2500 41mm when it was released, but the bracelet and link design has stopped me from buying the PO all these years. When it became in-house and grew in thickness I went with Rolex instead. I think Omega could make good profits on the Rolex shortage.
@@WatchAdvisor I had the chance for this one but was without even seeing it. There was a short period after COVID first wave, where you can order, pay in full and get it in 3 months in the city where I live. Impossible to see it even, so I chickened out. Later I regretted it, when we had more information, but it is still so elusive, so that's why I am so thankful for the presentation. When the Snoopy was coming, I just deposited without seen ig to avoid missing two omegas in one year. Who knows, maybe in the future Cal 321 will also join me.
That really is a superb piece of work. All that effort and attention to detail in every aspect of the watch and then no micro adjustment in the clasp😵😤. Have to say though this watch is the best looking speedy in omegas collection imho. Great video Alexander👍👌.
I cannot believe the bracelet doesn’t have a micro adjustment in the clasp. My 60ths do and I was looking for a more refined version. Guess I’ll stick with Uncle Seiko. Crazy.
How can you reduce this piece of watchmaking art to the missing micro adjustment? At least I couldn’t care less and I continue to admire what Omega realized here. Have you watched this video? ruclips.net/video/zmjUSfVdsxE/видео.html
@@WatchAdvisor I put Down the deposit when it was announced - Ad says Omega have told them that it’s not even sure if they will get any of the promised pieces now....so I shouldn’t be surprised if it will come in late 2021 or even 2022, and that’s despite I was one of the first to put down the deposit 😂 so In the meantime I got the 50 year anniversary Apollo 11 edition too keep me company 😊 and I love that watch
Nice one from Omega again. It’s a hand made chronograph watch. I believe the price is justifiable. However, they should make bracelets adjustable for modern interpretation and comfortability for this price point. Imagine modern daytona without easy link.. Also, everything is about the 321 movement for this product but they should provide a special presentation box or accessories for this specific model. It was not a right movement that Omega used the same box and accessories from regular moonwatch.
Here Alex the watch-head and the Calibre 321 are the things that impress... At least I couldn't care less for an adjustable bracelet and a fancy/exaggerated box. The one you get is fine and goodies in it cool... Sorry to contradict you!
Beautiful watch but I just got a vintage 145.022-69st and I don't think anything is better than the original watches themselves! Still beautiful though !
I think Omega has accidentally stumbled on what might be their best marketing move in their recent history... the fact that there are Rolex like wait lists on this watch is a God send for Omega in terms of brand reputation.. they'd be utter fools to flood the market with these and drive the price back down to below MSRP.... because as long as people are paying $22K+ for this already highly priced $14K watch, Omega gets to be a part of a VERY exclusive club along with PP, AP, VC and Rolex... Don't fuck this one up Omega...
@@WatchAdvisor that's just it, they should do nothing! A favorite term I like is... "the illusion of action" ... which is to say, sometimes the best thing to do is nothing (or in this case, nothing new).. which is to say, Omega should not tamper with this design, and should not tamper with the production numbers.. the exclusivity of this watch is a marketing boon for Omega... If anything they should discontinue the watch and only re-introduce the movement in another very low production variant... maybe this time in yellow or rose gold.. The big mistake would be to turn it into a mass production watch.
Beautiful watch, i got mine almost two months ago...... but allready have been sent back to Omega for a necessary dial change -.-‘ In a few days it will be a month wait for this issue i discovered at home, and just for a simple dial change. At my judgement is not acceptable to find out to have a not perfect dial arriving home and such a long wait for a non-mechanical issue, but estetical. The watch usually gets +1second every three hours, as i tested. the chronograph activation, or reset, buttons tend to have a slight play before the immediate click. In progression 321 Omega(delay/hour/date) +4s 16:xx #1set(starting at +4) +15s 14:23 / +20s 23:03 #2set +25s 19:01 / +27,5s 00:10 #3set +29s 8:34 / +33s 22:15 #4set +38,5 13:02 /+2s 18:14 /+5s 23:37 #5set(res.) +12s 10:09 /+15s 17:36 #6set Then i lost track of writing this chart, and after i saw with my eye the defect and just got confirmed with the magnifying glass inside the box. the screws of the hands on the sub-dial are different, the sub dial that shows the seconds of the current time has a different screw, it results smaller than the other two. the sub-dials feature a circle texture, engraved, to which they then extend to the first edge, and then return to a smooth texture throughout the dial. I guess my quality check is exaggerated... but probably not. Maybe Omega needs a new eye.😁
I saw your comment only now... it was held for review due to the numbers you posted separated by ":" ... I just released it... Where are you based? Who took care of your Speedmaster? In case you need/want any help concerning your Speedmaster, please let me know and/or send an email to alexander (ad) watchadvisor (.) com ...
The Speedmaster is based in Rome, Italy, and obsiully it was taken care from the boutique of the same city. The 25/09/2020 it got the approval from the customer service, i guess in Milan, for a necessary dial change. Now from that date it’s stuck on working in mother house. I need to specify that i have no hurry to receive back the watch, but it’s curious to see the time spent on a warranty service of this kind. I believe also that they have another dial ready, i would say almost the same day, i also thought that maybe there is a problem on the assembly line, since the long wait or maybe i helped them discover a problem. In any case i need to tell that the customer service is very reliable, the watch just after 4/5 days arrived to the customer care, as i believe in Milan, and got the approval to move on to the mother house and get a new Dial. Now the problem was... on the subdial of the seconds of the current time, where the numbers are stamped, so very near to the dial and on the 17’second, it had, in my guess: 1- a small particle under the paint 2- a simple scratch Now analyzing these points I would focus more on the first, since the paint seemed to be slightly raised, probably later it burst so it created this similar scratch that seems to be visible, given the visible metal color reflection. This problem reminds me a lot of what we can find in a simple wall when it swells and creates that "" scratch "". In any case the boutique told me that it would take long, since the period and the kind of watch.
Since the 39.7mm case diameter and 19mm inter-lug width are the same as found on the Speedmaster "First Omega in Space," will the bracelet for the new 321 Ed White fit the FOIS? Are they going to make the bracelet available to order from Authorized Dealers?
I'm curious about the same thing! I bought a Forstner flat link bracelet, put it on my FOIS, sized it, and immediately took it off and threw it back in its box. A Speedmaster deserves a much better bracelet than that.
It is available for some time already... If you want one ... be sure to contact an Omega boutique or AD soon to make sure that you get on a waiting list... did you watch this video ruclips.net/video/zmjUSfVdsxE/видео.html
@@quicksandx54 blablabla …. Omega ain’t copying anyone… this particular chronograph can only be manufactured in small quantities in one dedicated workshop…
@@quicksandx54 I agree nothing justifies anything to be worth 12,000 pounds at all. It's a luxury. But this watch is only made by one watchmaker so it's not mass produced like other omegas like the 3861. And the Daytona is mass produced and currently sits at 33,000 pounds,. It's omega milking it ofc it is a new moon watch every week by the looks of it but don't take away from the fact that this watch looks absolutely stunning.. and if you look at it logically the grey market prices don't alter too hard like Rolex so it's a good buy. @@WatchAdvisor Das war auf die Fa. OMEGA gemünzt. Aber Roger Debuis wäre mal interessant, bekommt man fast nie zu sehen, außer beim Wempe und der hat nur die Einfachen (keine Tourbillon).
This is a complete and authentic "rebuilt" of the old "Ed White" Speedmaster with modern means including all "flaws" of the past ... so also the bracelet was part of it ...
Thanks Alexander for for this. I'm now subscribed on the Omega waiting list. I'd guess the wait will be quite some time (pun intended). Good to see that fantastic movement through the case back and they even AR coated it. If I ever get one I must make sure I'm not driving with it on as there could be an urge to look at it when stopped in a queue of traffic and that is probably not a good idea in heavy stop start traffic.
Anthony, I keep my fingers crossed 🤞🏻! And please do wear all your watches on a regular base. Having them in a safe is not the correct treatment for them... a watch has its natural habitat and this is definitely the wrist... 😉

Love your comment, thanks for sharing our passion and your thoughts with us! I keep my fingers crossed 🤞🏼… If you have any questions please let me know…
Finally bought one fully stickered on secondary market.

This is an upmarket and flashy Speedmaster. The slow beat rate is apparent in the jerky chronograph seconds hand movement.

Cheers

Damn, I love that bracelet so much more than my 1861 movement version.
But it will not fit...
@@WatchAdvisor yeah, I know. Sad. They did it on purpose to make this watch much more exclusive. Aside from the limited 321 movement, the exclusive bracelet helps Omega warrant the much higher price.
In January 2021 Omega will come with some new bracelet offers for the Speedmaster... so stay tuned and do also check the Omega website...

The Speedmaster line is excellent. Omega is great at attention to detail, technology and heritage. In the future it would be interesting to see the same high passion for some other lines.
Which one for instance and what exactly should Omega do?
Or a dress chronograph, cream dial, "Patek style" made on the 40mm Speedy case, 321 movement with date and moonphase, domed bezel no tachymetre.
Wow Alexander, you are on a row ... Thank you so much, I aways wanted a proper review of the Ed White.

Thanks for sharing! The 321 will stay in the collection for the next years, so there are opportunities also in the future to buy one...
That really is a superb piece of work.
All that effort and attention to detail in every aspect of the watch and then no micro adjustment in the clasp😵😤. Have to say though this watch is the best looking speedy in omegas collection imho. Great video Alexander👍👌.

Best looking very well sized Speedmaster..Love it

I cannot believe the bracelet doesn’t have a micro adjustment in the clasp. My 60ths do and I was looking for a more refined version. Guess I’ll stick with Uncle Seiko. Crazy.
How can you reduce this piece of watchmaking art to the missing micro adjustment? At least I couldn’t care less and I continue to admire what Omega realized here. Have you watched this video? ruclips.net/video/zmjUSfVdsxE/видео.html

2:05 oh god I thought we’d suddenly gone into a Zoom meeting with watches as the guests.
Great watch and what a nice bracelet.
The story behind is amazing... Omega really pushed the limits...
Really good to call out the lug to lug measurement.
We always do... Check out some of our other videos and you will see it... 😉
Congratulations to your Speedmaster! Was a good choice!

We love your comment! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Don't fuck this one up Omega...
... "Don't fuck this one up Omega" ... Can you specify? What shall they do?
@@WatchAdvisor that's just it, they should do nothing! A favorite term I like is... "the illusion of action" ... which is to say, sometimes the best thing to do is nothing (or in this case, nothing new).. which is to say, Omega should not tamper with this design, and should not tamper with the production numbers.. the exclusivity of this watch is a marketing boon for Omega... If anything they should discontinue the watch and only re-introduce the movement in another very low production variant... maybe this time in yellow or rose gold.. The big mistake would be to turn it into a mass production watch.
Yes please !!
Beautiful watch, i got mine almost two months ago...... but allready have been sent back to Omega for a necessary dial change -.-‘
In a few days it will be a month wait for this issue i discovered at home, and just for a simple dial change.
In progression 321 Omega(delay/hour/date)
+4s 16:xx #1set(starting at +4)
+15s 14:23 / +20s 23:03 #2set
+25s 19:01 / +27,5s 00:10 #3set
+29s 8:34 / +33s 22:15 #4set
+38,5 13:02 /+2s 18:14 /+5s 23:37 #5set(res.)
+12s 10:09 /+15s 17:36 #6set
Then i lost track of writing this chart, and after i saw with my eye the defect and just got confirmed with the magnifying glass inside the box.
the screws of the hands on the sub-dial are different, the sub dial that shows the seconds of the current time has a different screw, it results smaller than the other two.
the sub-dials feature a circle texture, engraved, to which they then extend to the first edge, and then return to a smooth texture throughout the dial.
Now the problem was... on the subdial of the seconds of the current time, where the numbers are stamped, so very near to the dial and on the 17’second, it had, in my guess:
1- a small particle under the paint
2- a simple scratch
Now analyzing these points I would focus more on the first, since the paint seemed to be slightly raised, probably later it burst so it created this similar scratch that seems to be visible, given the visible metal color reflection.
You will have to wait until January 2021 to get the answers... Some line extensions/modifications will then be announced...
I asked my AD which asked Omega. They said it wouldn't fit ... Bought the "uncle Seiko" flat link and it fits like a glove
@@WatchAdvisor Thanks for the reply Alexander. Great content, as always!
