Because if you want the Origins Plus version of CD with Miracle Edition you’ll will have to built it yourself with stuff like Microsoft Visual Studio 22, CMake and other shitty things to get it. But If you want the 2011 version you just need to get the Decomp, Data.rsdk file to play it, A Mod Manger and Miracle edition. But I got Origins decomp without building it. I can’t tell you where to get it because of Privacy.
Sonic 1 Forever and Sonic 2 Absolute no longer require you to extract the data file from the APK, you can just put the APK in the folder and run the setup file.

The main source of the decompilations are those versions for a reason.
If yall want to play a good version of s3 but not as good as sonic 3 air. Just look up sonic 3 complete which does come with nice features like being able to play og zone order. One i always used was the arcade spot sonic 3 complete but hey. I didnt understand most of this so this is for anyone like me (no widescreen tho so 😭)

@@Blur1287 APK files are actually just ZIP files apparently, so I guess you just convert it to ZIP beforehand? You can also just plop the APK into the setup folder and run the setup nowadays, so you don't have to do all the hassle, apparently.

@@Cyberbrickmaster1986 yes because protondb only indexes steam games. proton is just a modified version of wine, you can use it to run anything. you can add them as nonsteam games to steam and then force proton usage, but an easier way is to use bottles which lets you use soda and wine-ge (which are improved versions of proton)

I’ve honestly been trying for months to get these running on the steam deck and even with this video it still doesn’t work, does anyone know if it’s even possible?

@@Blur1287 APK files are actually just ZIP files apparently, so I guess you just convert it to ZIP beforehand? You can also just plop the APK into the setup folder and run the setup nowadays, so you don't have to do all the hassle, apparently.
for me it just says the discord_game_sdk.dll is missing and i cant drag it into sonic 3 air because its a 7 zip console and nothings working what do ido

if its a 7zip archive just extract it with 7zip or nanazip
if discord_game_sdk.dll is missing then you probably didnt extract the game files correctly and its missing some stuff
double check everything and use google
@@nanopone it’s basically when you extract a 7 zip and make it a 7 zip console but I just extracted a couple times and it worked thx and I got 2 chaos emeraldx
Sad that Sonic 3 A.I.R. is Linux compatible, but Sonic 1 Forever and Sonic 2 Absolute aren't. How am I supposed to play the definitive versions of the trilogy on Steam Deck?

@@nanopone I thought Proton was only good for Steam related games. There aren't any Proton reports on games that aren't or weren't made available on Steam.
@@Cyberbrickmaster1986 yes because protondb only indexes steam games. proton is just a modified version of wine, you can use it to run anything. you can add them as nonsteam games to steam and then force proton usage, but an easier way is to use bottles which lets you use soda and wine-ge (which are improved versions of proton)

the cristiam withe head remakes are way more better and the adds aren't making a big problem without forgeting that thoes remake was having the egoism of touching or making the true origines of how sonic meet the character and how knukx meet eggman wish it wasn't truly happened on hidden palace and more , but their make it like their want but sonic team don't and wasn't asking for this but its cannon of curse why not
