Missy, thank goodness I found you in time! I was about to give up on sewing AGAIN, after learning in high school how to sew, I never had a sewing machine to practice what I had learned. My daughter gave me my Singer Simple for Mother's day LAST year and I've tried to conquer it since. To no avail, I learned I had lots of ideas to sew, but couldn't get this machine to work for me. beautiful english accent tutorial, for us that is not a mother language to understand it! a very good audio visual instruction manual...definitely, as is always a Singer brand ! thank you very much!

Great instructions! I couldn’t get the needle thread thingy to work, thank God my Mother taught me how to thread the good ole fashion way🙂. Had a few bobbin issues too initially but I re-bobbed and it was fine. Thanks for your help💜
VERY BEST instructional video for threading-plus on Singer machine! Thanks a million-billion for making this video. It was GREAT to be able to adjust the playback speed, too. WELL DONE !!
... Wow.... I have had my singer simple for almost a year now amd you just taught me how to use it properly. The width of it, how to change the foot and why it sometimes bubbles up at the back. I just figured i was going too fast.
Thank you so much for the step by step instructions in this video, it’s my go to video whenever I need refresh my memory. It’s very helpful when I need to thread the needle. 😅 Although I tend to forget about the reverse stitch. Ahhhh.
OH I solved it! I had not moved the bobbin winder post to the right. Didn’t notice that on the tutorial. Needs to be in the correct position to prevent the needle from moving. However, now my thread is tangling on TOP of the post at times! Ugggh! Sewing does require patience!!!! I’m sticking with it.
Those are nice instructions on how to setup your machine and to begin using it. I have a new machine which has not been used yet, but I have been viewing many videos on how to use it before I got it and now I have to go shopping for material, thread, and supplies I will need to do the jobs successfully. I thank you all for these instruction videos for each model and I hope to become proficient soon with the machine I have.
Great video, I need some help though. How in earth do you slow the pedal down that comes with it. I see a plus and minus on the bottom of the pedal but I cannot work out how to turn it. Tool kit out and nothing is fitting and I’m not even sure if I’m doing it right 😅

ths machine keeps making a weird grinding sound and then the needle stops, this was my first time using it and I was upset to see that no matter how many times I rewatch this video, it never works without this happening before im finished
I have a couple questions 😅 When I back stitch piece of thread get stuck in the machine? Am I suppose to make a knot with the thread every time? Is the machine suppose to smell a little burnt or warm? That’s it for now 😁
Hi! 1. Are you stitching before reversing? Keep the thread tails to the side or behind the fabric when you start. 2. It's a personal choice. The knot or back stitch is used to secure the ends. Quilters for instance, don't tend to use it as it adds bulk to the seams. Garment or craft makers use it to secure the ends, since there will be a lot of manipulation before the cross seams are added. 3. If your machine is new, it comes from the factory over lubricated and oiled to protect during shipping. You may be smelling some of that excess burn off. If you have used it for more than 8 hours or so and it still smells hot, I would recommend having someone take a look at it. I hope this helps. Thank you! -TB

Hi! Perfect instructions! Thank you! I got my machine at small town auction it is nearly brand new! 4.00! I got it for 4.00! It has the foots inside the storage part. But it has one transparent thingy and 2 metal ones. My question is can metal bobbins 🧵 be used also or the plastic ones only? Also it’s missing the round thing that holds the spool on when winding the bobbin. What can I use in place of that? Thank you!
Hi Brandy! Thank you for reaching out to us about your machine. We strongly suggest using the same bobbin type that came with your machine, because using a different bobbin can damage your machine. You can always take the machine in to a local Singer retailer for further assistance... especially if it is a non-current model. Thank you! -TB
Everything was helpful except for the threading part, but I probably made a mistake as this is my first ever real sewing machine. When it got to the place where you need to put the thread on the hook and push it down, it took a few tries to get it done for me. Nothing is wrong with my machine, but the thread isn’t going in.

I am having absolutely no luck with the automatic needle threader. I have watched that portion of the video 30+ times and followed the instructions but the thread just slides up the needle or gets stuck to the prongs before sliding up the needle. My mom has been sewing for more than 40 years and even she couldn't get it to work. I end up just threading it myself.

I followed the video exactly but when I got to the test stitch every time I press the foot peddle I hear a noise but the needle doesn't move. The hand knob works and everything else looks right so I'm not sure why it isn't working. This is a brand new machine and my first time using it so it shouldn't be broken.

I just thought I would share something I learned from another video about thread tension which this video does not cover and should.
I am brand new at this and I was getting little birds nests on the other side of my stitching... something was obviously wrong.
I learned from another video that it was because of the tension on the thread.
On our machine, tension is regulated by the left side dial on top of the machine as you face the machine.
The other video also suggested to test all of the tension settings.
I will find the other video and forward it to you the woman was very informative!
