Just bought this machine today. Have never been near a sewing machine and your video was spot on. Looking forward to watching and learning more from you. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have 7 days in which to finish making Christmas stockings for a niece’s husband and baby. My 40 to 50 year old Singer wouldn’t sew a good seam, no matter what adjustments I made, then the bobbin case came apart (loosened the screw too much and I couldn’t find where it landed). Repair wasn’t an option at this point, so I purchased a Singer 3337 and rejoiced at the thought of having a much easier time threading the needle. Reality struck when quick start instructions and the online user manual couldn’t show me good pictures of how to get the thread through the little bits around the needle. Your video is a lifesaver! Now that I can sew the pieces together, I have a very good chance of having the stockings finished even before the drop dead date!
I ain't no mom unless I qualify as one for my cat and tarantulas. But this video was extremely helpful as a rundown on all kinds of information. So big thanks to you, I hope I can do my projects right🙏
Your video was the 3rd one I found. The other two confused me more..Yours was so easy to follow. Thank you for speaking clearly, putying your camera in the right place and making threading my new machine so easy...
OMG thank YOU!!!!!!!!! I bought my first sewing machine ever and your video helped me get started just now! I thought I broke this thing last night lol thank you!!!!!
@@momdoesstuff I did as soon as I finished watching your youtube I was encouraged so I sewed and stuffed a pillow for my 4 yr niece. Yes, you were so right I love it. Thank you again☺️
Thanks for the informative video. I just purchased the Singer 3337 a couple of days ago after returning a Bernette b37. That machine was used 4 times, and caught the material in the switch plate every time I used it. I had to remove the plate and release the material each time. The last time I used it, the needle stuck in the down position, and that was enough for me. I have a Singer Curvey that did the same thing, and I'm debating whether to send it out for repair or not. I decided to buy a mechanical machine because my sewing expertise doesn't require anything more. So far, the Singer 3337 works fine. It's not all that noisy, and it doesn't vibrate at all.
I just got mine today, im looking forward to following your video to thread. My vintage 401a just broke. You did a fantastic job instructing. Im just not sure of the last part to thread at the end. , It was hard to see. But will be watching tomorrow when i get my 1st chance to use it. Thank you. 😊
Thank you!! This was so very helpful! I just got my new Singer 3337 last nite & I have no idea what I'm doing..... your tutorial is really going to help me so much! : ) Great explanation!
Oh my goodness you have helped me so much! It seems simple but when you try do it I could never get the bobbin right!!! Thank you so much You are such a blessing!!!!
Thank you so much 💓 I juste start sewing And I will buy singer 3337 this black Friday from Walmart the price is very good Please I am waiting for the continuation🥰👌
Great tutorial!!!! Ive been using the wrong thread holder!!! lol!! idk!!!! So enlightening this tutorial!!!! Im making mostly junk journals. So, i have a lot of questions, since im a newby at using a machine. I was handsewing everything! i know!!!! crazy! thank you! I hope you have more video tutorials????💜
Very clear instructions. My machine does not allow the fabric to run through free handed as you show. I have to assist or the fabric just sits there! I am a complete novice and the machine has been stored away for nearly 3 years. Never sewn anything just practiced on scraps.
Hmm. The fabric should pull through on its own. You just guide it to keep it straight. Make sure your stitch length is not set on 0. If not, raise the presser foot so you can see the feed dogs underneath. Turn the hand wheel and see if they move.
I have a Singer Simple but older model. Your tutorial was very helpful but I need to find a tutorial for my model as the features are slightly different.
I got it fixed😅I retreaded my machine. I made my first pillow cover, although on my next project the threading got jammed and I had to remove the top plate. My bobbing gets jammed right when I get in the middle part of the fabric. 😢maybe I need to take sewing classes..I'm not giving up this time because I gave up sewing 3 yrs ago. Oh and do you have a tutorial on making a envelope pillow? I'm not sure if I had asked ya yet but thank you so much❤
Thank you for all of your help. I appreciate your patience and skill. I have a question though- My automatic threader just won't work, any suggestions on what it could be? All help is appreciated.
Firstly, I just wanted to thank you for this super easy to follow video! I was glad that it showed me that I followed the printed instructions well. However, the only problem I had was with the very final # instruction that came with it. I hoped to find that answer here but I didn't see you do it. So, after you've threaded the needle, How do you get it attached/looped with the bottom thread from the Bobbin so that you have two thread tails? The directions say to pull the top thread tail to the left while spinning the knob and allowing it to go down and up once..but I'm not sure I'm doing that right. Please help! I've never understood someone's teaching like I understand you!! ♡♡♡
Hold the thread that’s coming out of the needle off to the left. Roll the hand wheel with your right hand towards you until the needle goes down and then comes back up. When it comes up, the bobbin thread should come up to. Sometimes it takes me more than one turn to pull it up. Hope that helps! Thank you for watching!
Thanks for an excellent demonstration, it was helpful. I was donated this machine to use for our sewing group at church. Unfortunately, the bobbin thread won;t come up even when I turn the needle and it goes does into the hole but it doesn't catch the bobbin thread. So it looks good but won't sew!! Any suggestions? thank you. Char
If you are using the thread cutter on the bobbin thread, try just leaving 4 or 5 inches of tail trailing out to the left instead. I think sometimes it just cuts the thread too short. Hope that helps!

I have watched this over and over and it has helped so much! Although after I cut the thread after sewing I have to redo the bobbin thread. Is that normal?
@@momdoesstuff but I cut the bobbin thread like u showed after placing the bobbin in. I don't think I can leave a longer tail on the bobbin thread. I just got this machine. I’ve been reading and watching all kinds of tutorials and I believe I’m threading properly, but when I start to sew, there big clumps of the top thread in the back and the thread is jammed in the machine. 😢 What am I doing wrong??
I’m so sorry you’re having trouble! Try a different spool of thread. Sometimes you just get bad thread. Make sure you have the presser foot raised when loading the top thread until you get ready to thread the needle. Set upper tension dial to around 4-5. Test with a different fabric, quilting cotton is best to test with. Hope that helps!
Hi does this machine sew through jeans ? Or thick materials ?? Wanting a sewing machine for making curtains and clothes so any recommendations appreciated?? Thanks
I haven’t used it in anything thick. Mine vibrates so I don’t use it much. The Singer Heavy Duty machines are workhorses. The only down side is they are a little noisy.
I have this machine but I can't get it to do zig zag stitch. When I get look good in the top is a mess in the bobbin part or vs. I'm getting frustrated. I have cleaned it, oiled, changed the needle, bought new bobbins...etc. I'm running out of solutions.

I just bought the singer m3220 . It is a little different from the one you did video on . Do you do video on m3220 ? I have been sewing all of my life, 80 yrs old . I lost the use of my left arm 6 years ago , so stopped sewing . My kids got rid of all my machines because I wasn't using them . I am so used to the good older machines and these new ones are so different . I am house bound now , and so bored . Thus the reason for wanting to try sewing again . I am doing ok with simple stuff but these new machines are so different . The one I got , m3220 makes a horrible clanking noise when sewing . It sews fine but you said the newer ones are noisy . Is this normal ?
I don't have anything on the m3220 yet. It shouldn't be a whole lot different from the 3337 though. I'm not sure it should be clanking. I have a 'clanker' myself. It's a Bernina and I never use it because of that noise. In this video ruclips.net/video/SKSQXlC7JQQ/видео.html around the 15 minute mark, I ran all the machines so you could hear the noise level. Listen to some of those and see if they sound similar. I'd hate for you to have one that you can't enjoy sewing on. The Brother machines are really quiet these days. You might want to consider swapping it in, unless the noise really doesn't bother you. Thank you so much for watching! I'm going to look for one of those m3220s when I get to town next.
@@momdoesstuff you don't have to do that. I was just so invested an had to exit the video after I couldn't see. But I found a red thread used in a video. Thank you
I cannot find anywhere how to stop the needle from sewing when spinning bobbin. Problem 2, is there some trick to replacing the top part of the little storage compartment just snapping it down (the lid) before sticking it into machine takes me forever but don't know what does the trick. Hope this makes sense.
Is the bobbin winding post all the way to the right? Try flicking to the left and then back to the right. That should disengage the needle. On the storage compartment, I just put up against the machine and then slide to the right
@@momdoesstuff Tried it makes no difference could be not possible with this machine. Might just have to run with the needle but bobbin is very snow spinning. There has to be something. The storage compartment I will have to glue the lid on once I get in on.that's where the problem is getting the top on before inserting.
@@jeanluby4636 Is this the Singer 3337? I have another model of Singer that the needle does not disengage when winding the bobbin. And on my 3337, the storage compartment opens on the side, not on the top?
@@momdoesstuff on the back say Model 100 Otherwise Singer Featherweight. Very disappointing not able to solve this. How is a needle disengaged on other Singer models? Maybe similar
I would take the thread out totally and rethread. Sometimes it just doesn't get caught in the tension discs well. Make sure you have the pressure foot up when threading through the tension channel. Check your tension. Tighten it up and see if that helps.

How about jeans ma'am can used that types of sewing machine?
Maybe this will help :) ruclips.net/video/ygwpkCCAL8A/видео.html
I don't know why the stich is loose, I did everything you said, but still the same . Do you know what I doing wrong???
I would take the thread out totally and rethread. Sometimes it just doesn't get caught in the tension discs well. Make sure you have the pressure foot up when threading through the tension channel. Check your tension. Tighten it up and see if that helps.
Does this machine come with a foot control?
Yes, it has a foot pedal.
I was trying to seq something thick and my presser foot came off
It will just snap back on. Don’t worry
My needle threader is stuck in a down position!!!!! Please help
OHhh, nooo :( Hopefully by now you've managed to get it loose? If not, try gently rocking it back and forth. You may have to remove the needle.
Where does the spring go?
Hmmm, I don't have a spring. Where did you find it?
@@momdoesstuff The spring was one of those things left over after I took the machine apart. It’s about 1/4” inch and it’s black. Thank you & kindest regards.
@@user-qb6zx6ir4s Hmm, I've never actually taken it apart so I can't be much help :( Sorry!
@@momdoesstuff Unfortunately in the floor!!! But I know the spring came from from inside the machine. My hubby took the entire machine completely apart. The little spring was a “leftover” part”. Please help….I’ll be your friend forever!!

Your video would have been better if you were very familiar with all of the attachments before making the video.
I agree.
Be thankful
I was looking on amazon and they have this in 2 options, refurbished, and renewed. Does this mean they are used machines?
Yes, those are going to be used machines.
