This is the most difficult machine ever! I wish my granny got me an older simpler version like the ones in high school.. This video helped a lot. Now it's practice, practice, practice.
It's easier than it looks. I'd suggest rewinding the video a few times and follow her instructions. You will love threading it this way instead of doing it manually.
Okay but the camera work is what got me🥲 paused the video to comment this cuz when she was explaining that part it got blurry and her hand was in the way Im upset too😂🤧 on like the tenth time of rewatching that part and I still don’t get it
Found out that it’s easier to just hand thread it. My sister (who has been sewing for years) and you’re supposed to put the thread through the needle eye so the tail of it is coming out the back side. From there, you just have to make sure the thread isn’t wrapped around the needle or managed to tie itself. I hope this helps!
5 star review! I'm just learning to sew and this model was given to me. I followed the instructions in the manual, but my thread kept bunching underneath the fabric. Inserting the spool correctly and going around that pre-tension spring was what solved my problem! Thank you because I was this close 🤏🏽 to throwing the sewing machine off my balcony!
I rec’d this from my sister who acquired it at some sale…while I saw how inexpensive it is, she promised it was a good machine. Relearning the basics of sewing (never been good at it but it’ll be fun to see what I can make, besides securing some hem that became loose). I had a machine that was not very good so I got rid of it - didn’t understand how to fix it; the repair shop wasn’t interested in doing their job but charged 1/3 of its retail price). Tell the truth, this machine is a little overwhelming…all that it can do.
I’ve been terrified of using my sewing machine. I am getting a bit tripped up by threading down to the needle but this is a very helpful video. I’m definitely less afraid of my machine now!
Thank you for your incredibly clear and useful instructions! I've been sewing for 35 years, my old Singer just packed in (couldn't ask more from it really) so I bought a 2263 as I thought it would be suitable to teach my daughter to sew on - could I get that bobbin thread to come up??? Read the instruction manual, watched other vids, nothing. Was about to give up till I watched your video and realised I hadn't clicked it in properly - duuuhhhh! Thanks - will be directing my daughter to more of your videos, you'll probably teach her better than I could! :-)
I bought this at a garage sale for $3! I agree with your comment because I can't see how to use the automatic threader because her hands are in the way! Otherwise it's a good video.
Everyone who tries to show the needle threader needs to be able to zoom in on that thing because it's just sor darn TINY and hard to see. Of course, THAT'S the part I'm having trouble with.
Hi Felicia! Thank you 'sew' much for the feedback. That part does take some practice. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you! -TB
@@SingerSewingCompany I have watched this video over and over I can not see where you are putting the thread after step '5' in order to use the needle threader. I gave up and just used a threader but I would like to be able to use this feature. Is there anyway to take a video from behind so we can see what you are doing?
Everything was perfect until the last step. Can't seem to get the needle to catch the bobbin thread and the angle of the camera wasn't at all helpful during that part.
Thank you. Very helpful and informative. I also could not get the hang of the needle threader. After many tried I have up. Any additional help with that would be great! But..awesome video. Thank you again.

Hi Riley, Make sure you have the presser foot up when you are threading so the thread is fully seated in the tension discs. If there is no tension on the thread, it will not form a stitch. To pull up the bobbin thread, firmly, but gently, hold the top thread in your left hand and turn the hand wheel one full rotation towards you until the needle goes all the way down then all the way up. If you then gently tug the thread in your left hand, the loop should come up. If you need more help troubleshooting, please call our Customer Care team at 1-800-474-6437. -AK

Hi! Thanks for your suggestion, but unfortunately, we do not have this tutorial in Spanish. Thank you! -TB
What about the tension knob though?? What does that need to be on for a basic stitch
Your tension is factory-set right in the middle (4 or "auto" depending on your machine) and can stay on that setting for almost all regular sewing.
My bobbin winds with loose thread and doesn’t look right. Maybe a tension issue?
