    NOTE: HiSec, Solo mining in a Venture is a safe, relaxed activity that you can do while you watch videos on your second monitor (Netflix and Drill?) However -- it's not actually **that** profitable and can lead to boredom/burnout and a feeling that you're just "grinding" in a non-fun way. Keep watching this series to learn about Exploration (we make 10mil ISK in just a few minutes in Episode 4!!!) and Ratting (killing NPC pirates). Of course, if you enjoy mining then do mining! (Maybe consider joining an industrial corp that mines in NullSec for big $$$).

      @varlo446 5 лет назад +7

      You need a permit to mine in Hi-Sec. I can sell you one for 10mil isk, it's good for one year.

      @@lastresort1plays Hangar inventory is unique to every station. If you leave stuff in a station then travel to a different station, you won't be able to see it there. If you want to travel long distance but don't have room to carry all your stuff, it might be worth it to sell it and re-buy it from someone else at your destination.

    • @aenorist2431
      @aenorist2431 5 лет назад

      The hangar is tied to the place, nothing teleports, every item that moves has a player activly moving it.
      Also i will interject and say that alpha industry is gonna give you cancer, its extremely discouraged by the game.
      Industry of any consequence is pretty much locked to omega, as is significant mining.

    I was actually in a mining corp a while ago and it was super fun. It was so much more than just point and click mining. You’d have to deploy with a combat screen, have preset escape points, have a logistics chain to ship your ores back to maximise time in a belt and so on. It was some of my best times in the game.

    13:25 A criminal timer will last 15 mins regardless of you getting concorded. You lose your ship, but Concord won't attack pods. However, if you have a criminal timer, players can attack your pod with no repercussions in high-sec. That doesn't apply to suspect timers, which only allow other capsuleers to attack your ship.

    A little more info about a system's sec status.
    All systems with a security status of 0.1 or above have sentry turrets defending all aritificial, non-player owned, non-mission objectives (this means jump gates and space stations) These turrets will engage any red flagged (criminal) player with-in their range. Also, players can't use jump gates or dock into stations, if they recently unlawfully attacked the station, the gate, another player or the sentry turrets.
    In systems with 0.5 or higher, in adittion to the sentry turrets located every-where, in greater numbers (sentry turrets in high sec systems do a boatload more damage) there are also police patrols (both from Concord wich is an universal police task-force, for wich you can do missions if you choose so, aswell as the NPC empire in control of that system) that will oblitarate any player that un-lawfully attacks another player/npc/structure in that system.

    This means even if you jump into low-sec, you won't die instantly, but it's not rare to see player gank squads camping low-sec jump gates, with ships that can actually take the damage the sentry turrets dish-out and survive with-out a problem.
    WARNING: Players in beginner NPC corporations should take extra precautions not to venture into 0.4 or below system, especialy in starter ships, since every player on the other side WILL shoot you as soon as they see you, on suspicion of being a scout (basicly a spy) since it's a common practice to make a noob character and send him/her ahead to scout for other player fleet's.

  • @davidgilroy34
    @davidgilroy34 4 года назад +1

    Might be a little late to the party, but when your sorting by price when buying stuff, make sure you also check the sec status of the system its in...You don't want to buy something in lowsec just to loose it trying to get to it.

    I just have one query and apparently it's just me who suffered with this issue as Google returned nothing. During the battle at 3 mins or so, i was targeting my first ship, destroyed it and then targeted the next one and pressed F1 to attack. However it took me much longer than it should have to realise I was still shooting (and targeting) the wreck from my prior fight. However I then realised I had actually targeted my next enemy correctly, I was just seemingly targeting two things at once? Is there something I can do besides finding the first target on the list and clicking to drop the target? It's quite frustrating haha

    today is my second day in EVE, and my Venture was destroyed by a pirate player in 0.4 security system, while I was aligning for warping.

    • @mediahighlights-r1w
      @mediahighlights-r1w 4 года назад

      I'm pretty sure you can fit a Venture so it "insta-aligns" (align time < 2 seconds), making it effectively impossible to lock you before you warp off.
      EDIT: Never mind, you can only get the Venture down to 2.64 s align time.

    Hey quill18 is it possible to do only pve and still have fun or will pvp always be a thing to worry about in this game

    • @stukya
      @stukya 5 лет назад +2

      Its possible to only play PVE (many players are pve focused). As a PVE player you will have to learn how to minimise the risks from other PVP players.

    • @Palitato
      @Palitato 5 лет назад +2

      PVP is why I avoid MMORPGs. I just want to play and explore and have fun, not have my entire character and life totally destroyed by some asshat with a god complex who blows other people up for the shits and giggles of it. I really wish there were like two versions of EVE- one that allowed PVP and another that gave more NPC threats but didn't allow PVP, so you would be forced to band together to defeat the enemies, and don't have to risk some rando shooting you out of the sky because you have a different flag color than them.

    • @quill18
      @quill18  5 лет назад

      The fact is, even in HiSec it's **possible** to get (suicide) ganked. That being said, even in NullSec or wormhole space it's possible to avoid the vast majority of PVP so long as you "play scared"...which can be a hell of a rush (see episode 4). You WILL lose a ship to another player at some point, but it doesn't have to be a big deal -- and it doesn't mean you have to truly participate in PVP.
