Can confirm even now this is still best method and system to be farming. Went from 0 to Rear Admiral in about 7 days and I'm nearly at Elite trader to boot. 10/10 would recommend.
What was the materials you were stacking on average? I seem to be only getting offered bromellite, samarium, and methanol crystals, with inara sending me to fleet carriers where the cargo costs a ridiculous premium
@nazarethbarker4937 I had quite a few mats. Often water, gold, consumer appliances, and reactive armor. Towards the end on about the 6th day I started running into a similar issue to you and would pick up onsie twosie missions that I would do after running a biofuel delivery mission. You might want to look into putting less items into Inara and see if there's anything close that has 2 for sure items at a station only one to two jumps away. That's how I sped up my process a bit towards the end.
I just wanted to tell you - you are the damn BEST Elite Dangerous RUclipsr. Keep it up, keep your chin high and we're here for you as much as you're here for us :)
This is great, thanks One thing I'll add: It's worthwhile to bring your combat/bounty hunting ship to Wally Bei as well. Every time you get that Incoming Enemy Alert, just hop in your FDL, kill all the pirates, and then continue. It's honestly far less annoying than the constant interdictions, it breaks up the gameplay a bit, and the bounties are significant
The timing of this video is impeccable; I've slowly worked on my Fed rank, but as you've rightly said the old methods are jank now. Only 40 secs in, so better keep going o7.
You didn't warn us that right after doing a few missions we'd have to do 3 Navy missions, like one after the other, in order to rank up.. like three times. But this method does work. Even doing other missions that aren't time consuming is also fun and a break from the norm. Thumbs up and subscribed.
3 navy missions one after the other is a good thing! That means you already had federal reputation saved up before you did this. Each mission gave you a new rank! Anyway, thanks mate, glad it worked out 🫡
Thank you very much !! No B.S., straight to the point, and demonstrating how to use the games interface is so awesome. I hope your channel grows and you continue to make this exact type of content. Other youtubers just don't seem to get that new players are still coming into the game and need VERY SPECIFIC help.
I unlocked the Corvette quote a while ago, almost exclusively by doing rescues from burning stations, but this was still an informative video. I had no idea you can satisfy mining missions by simply buying the commodities! Great to know!
Awesome tutorials, I was seeing ED videos dwindling down and getting out of date, it’s awesome that you picked up the slack. And you do it well to boot! Now a teeny little request: I just learned very recently that supercharging your FSD on a neutron star or white dwarf requires a fuel scoop. Almost no tutorial says this (the only one that I know of has only 1.3K subscribers). After asking around on Reddit it was clear many people didn’t know, including some who had hundreds of hours on the clock. I guess everyone *assumes* you have a fuel scoop, but I have rocks to carry! There might be a void to fill here if you feel like it. Thanks again, and keep up the good work!
Thanks for the video, I was definitly frustrated when I found it. I did find another method that might not be faster in terms of gametime, but is worth it for me: Sitting in Sol stations and just doing the cash donations, they will give over 3% progress when I was going from post commander to post Captian. about every 10 minutes I'll check in while doing something else and do the donations again. and if I wanna be active I'll just go around to the stations. It's expensive but I'd rather pay and then make the money back then do the missions and it's semi afk
This was very useful, i did a bit of the grind a few years ago but quit because of burn out. Thanks to this vid i got the last 3 ranks real quick this week and now i have the one ship i've wanted since the start.
To all the people commenting about Ceos-Sothis and the other "old runs" it's worth noting that elite dangerous is a dynamic game and the situations change. Ceos-Sothis USED to be great, but they have only 1 federal faction now and few high rep rewards, so you can still grind fed rep there but it is much slower. I stubbornly persisted with the Ceos-Sothis route until past lieutenant before going to Sol and doing these supply runs there - the change of location broke the monotony but also my progress rate speeded up about 3x - i was keeping count! :). Still a grind but feels much better to see proper results.
A note: If the rank up mission isnt one you want just close and reopen the mission board. This still works in the latest version of the game. Rank up missions are the only types of missions that change on every board recycle. A lot of folks think this doesn't work because the old "board flipping" doesn't work anymore, but I can confirm as of the latest patch on 2024/05/28 this absolutely still works.
I unlocked the Corvette before I unlocked the Cutter. I feel had I unlocked the Cutter first I would have had an easier time unlocking the Corvette. I love both of them SO MUCH!!
Yeah, the cutter is super handy here. After recording footage in the T-9 (as that’s what a viewer is likely to be using), I swapped straight into the cutter. The massive speed and extra shield strength is soooo nice. I also kinda enjoy the irony of pandering to the fed’s every whim while flexing Gutamaya’s finest. It’s hard not to love the big ships 🥲🫡
Brooo felt! I unlocked both with combat missions, because pew pew… I unlocked my trading cutter in a week… as opposed to the endless weeks I spent on the other one!
@@captainwinters6909 I unlocked the Corvette with a combo of combat and courier missions with a fully eng FDL. It wasn't too terrible and when I took the same strat to unlocking the Cutter it was a BREEZE! I have to admit I use the Cutter way more but the Corvette is absolutely a DOGG with Thargoid combat
@@KingArthurFleck haha I wish I had things fully engineered! I haven’t done the Colonia side of things yet. I went sidewinder, cobra mk3, Keelback, Krait mkII, screwed up and down to sidewinder then back that same route, and onto the big three! Now I just have project ships that I very much enjoy. I definitely heard about the Thargoid vette! I enjoy mini carrier fighting so I might try that at some point!
I've just found your content; I've played hours of Elite Dangerous, and I've understood nothing of it. Until your channel. Thank you so much & please, please keep doing these videos! I'd love to know more about exploration, trading and such 🙏🏼 I'm going to try mining during my week off next week!
I'd like to confirm, this is working quite good. I got from rank 4 to rank 10 in around a week of casual playing and made ~850mil credits using a shieldless Python with FSD booster. Fly safe CMDRs!
These stations also offer donation missions that often include commodities found in nearby systems, however, donation mission goods arent marked in the market UI so you have to remember them. It is also a good practice to keep stacking missions and complete them in batches (ones calling for high tech commodities, others calling for mining commodities) since there are 2 nearby systems, in opposite directions, that sell those. Lastly, if you already have a cutter - shields are really optional. Any time interdiction happens just submit, immediately boost away and jump into supercruise (cutter cant be mass locked and with modded engines outruns any npc with ease)
Great concise guide for a great method. The only thing I'd add is that escaping interdiction is basically always possible after some practice, even in a type 9, you can win the interdiction minigame, which is far less dangerous than submitting and making a run for it. Depending on what comes after you and your ship, you could die fairly quick. Maybe consider making one for a more combat oriented approach. It's not as efficient, but it's perhaps more fun and there's a lot to know there as well between stacking pirate missions, efficient ways to do them, online tools to help you find good targets for pirate hunting etc.
Sol has gold, silver, and cobalt missions, most of the gold and silver are worth 50m and can be shared. No system hopping needed, go to Galileo to get your gold, silver, and Cobalt, with any luck you can make around 200m in a very short time
I might give this a try and see how it compares to doing passengers to Sothis, courier missions are okay but if I can get the last 2 ranks quicker then I'm definitely going to try something.
Love this video. I got my fed corvet recently and it was a pain to get so I wish I had this video. Hopefully you'll have one soon for the empire though. Either way I'm glad others will have a better method than I did
Already had my Conda from about a few years back, just returned to the game a few weeks back and now i finally have my Cutter. /sigh Now it's time to get the last 5 ranks i need for the Corvette. Been using my Cutter for mining, what a pig of a ship(But i still really like it), really doesn't like turning but laser mining with it is pretty good. Going to use the Corvette for combat. Thanks for the info.
Damn! That Seemed a lot easier than the way I did it! If I'd spotted this earlier, I would have been a happier space Bunny or something! Ah well I did it the hard way but it's probably still a good way to earn extra credits so ''ll bear it in mind and maybe follow your methods to get some cash! nice straightforward video! Cheers for the info!
The Type 8 takes all the pain points out of this grind. I set mine up with 324 tons, prismatics and an FSD booster. The type 9 was making me pull my hair out on some of the higher threat missions.
Shields? Threat missions? You know you can just submit to interdiction and run away instantly right? I dont think iv ever got taken below 90% hull in my type 9 and id rather have double the cargo to halve the trips.
@@prisonerofthehighway1059 Do you want me to show yooooou? You know if you submit your FSD doesnt go on a long cooldown right? You know you can avoid them with the SCO super cruise right? You know the police show up in all the systems you SHOULD be going too right? What i mean to say is.... you clearly suck.
@@prisonerofthehighway1059 Lmao. Well considering you can boost in super cruise now. You can have chaff. You can run silent. The system authority show up in 100% of the systems you SHOULD be going to. And you can just submit and frame shift out without the long cool down almost straight away.... Basically what im saying is you clearly just have a massive skill issue.
@@brentonherbert7775 I don’t dispute anything you’re saying except not taking any hits on an unshielded Type 9. A threat level 8/9 routinely spawns a wing of 3 ships, all of which will try to interdict you. You are going to take damage, which honestly, that’s fine, escaping alive is relatively simple but getting pulled out of super cruise multiple times trying to go 300ls is a PITA. The type 8 is better at dodging in and out of SC. To each their own. o7 commander.
I don't know if this still works, but I got my Corvette years ago by simply transporting data between SOTHIS and CEOS. Safe and easy. If a little time-consuming, of course, it's Elite! ;)
I'd love to see a video (or videos) on how to get to all the different elite ranks. I'm really struggling with my combat rank for engineering specifically
I got elite in new player area using an anaconda. Tip don't rank up so you don't lose the permit. Go mining in hyades sector dbx d1-112 planet 2 at the painite hotspot and sell in sector to carriers. Don't collect materials as they'll rank you up and you'll be able to return in an a rated anaconda with a NPC pilot, with fighters. Its easy if you head to the conflict zone there or haz res and take on every single elite you come across.
I unlocked Federal Corvette and Imperial Cutter during the same 7 days i was earning 5 bils for my Fleet Carrier doing nothing but Transport missions in Boom systems. Cheers and O7.
@@DiturisElite Not my first day in this game. I began with 35 mil and a Python and 7 days later I had my Fleet Carrier and both Imperial and Federal ranks I stated previously. It was a blast.
I may already have lost hair earning the right to buy a Corvette (Despite being a non-combat CMDR) but thank you, thank you, thank you CMDR Dituri for helping keep my own love for Elite going, and helping others find theirs.
Hey Dituri, i used the Ceo courier mission method worked good for me and didn't require any cargo space. It was a bit dragged out and i dont know which one would be faster but it still another working method imo.
Glad it worked! When did you do that? When I was unlocking this myself (last week) it was painfully slow, since most of the federal factions are gone. Again, happy it worked for you!
@DiturisElite its probably been 3 months or so now maybe 4. There was only one federal faction while I was doing it. But they were present at all the stations so the missions stacked.
Ceos and so this work well, robigo is federal so those missions give you fed rep as well as credits. I've even done it at the start with a sidewinder, but my fave is doing it in every single ship as I go. I usually go sidewinder, adder, viper mk IV, cobra mk III, dbx, asp x, until I can get a python. The dbx while small does have some good starter capacity and can do robigo within two jumps each way. Asp x as well. The sidewinder takes forever and I always take a fuel scoop. Once you can get there and back without needing to refuel there's no need for a med/big fuel scoop just a 1A is enough as it's only for emergencies and refueling a bit every jump. Ngalin and mainani are a lot easier to do for imperial rank as well.
No longer works unfortunately. All the old favourites (ceos, sothis, ochosi etc) have barely any federal factions now, hence me saying ‘all the old methods don’t seem to work’ at the beginning of the video. Check out the original Reddit post for the method if you want some more info 🫡
I have been farming federation rank last week and was already applying this exact method, without any outside help :D in my opinion, doing a few delivery quests in between, and buy the stuff for the other missions at the destination. it may change things up a bit during this tiresome grind
This system was working for me for a while but now i just keep getting absolutely sniped by the same 3 pirates. I genuinely have never been shot down faster then by these guys.
Sounds like 3 guys with small hardpoints lol. I’d switch to solo. I’ma big believer in open play but if you’re on a grind and someone is slowing you down, just take their fun away.
I remember playing on Xbox and just running mail between two stations for both fed and imperial I lost my sanity in those days but my god do I love my corvette. I just bought elite on steam since console is just basically on life support and already started my new adventure but will look into bringing that account progress to pc but if I can’t then it’s back to the grind. Though I will say that there isn’t much that I would lose fsd and multi were my only high engineered parts, navy ranks as well, and all materials. So I’m honestly on the fence about it
There's also the Canopus-Exphiay route, but it is primarily courier missions and imo, pretty repetitive. Although the station in Canopus is 42,000 Ls away :P
Both have issues sadly, in my recent experience. Nearly all the fed factions are gone from ceos/sothis (as well as the other famous systems) and damaged stations are becoming less common now, probably dying out soon. The method in the video is likely to stay working, and to my knowledge is almost as good as they used to be. Sad, but things move on! 🫡
@@DiturisElite There is still FEDs in Ceos/Sothis which still yields missions, and probably easier to do then the trading which requires huge micro management, and probably slow. And currently there are many damaged stations due to the war, and easy to find them. Yes, it is not always viable, but most of the time it is, and giving alternatives is always good, as not everybody plays the same.
Currently Ceos/Sothis has only 1 federation faction and is mainly data courier missions offering only 2 star reputation rewards. This is fine until rank 5 or 6 but after Ensign you barely get 1% per mission and struggle to get a full 20 missions (fed faction) even if you hit all the stations. At Lieutenant and up the slow increase becomes even more painful. Walley Bei is going much quicker for me, also Sol and it's 4 stations work well for this. If nothing else it is nice to get a change of scenery :). Tysm Dituri, great video, concise and clear, cheers.
Thank you for yet another awesome video - I was fielding a question from a new player about the Anaconda just last week, so I'll direct them to your video ! =] One thing I'm really struggling with is the SCO drive - I keep blowing-up my ship by using it, so I'm obviously doing something wrong. Since you're *awesome* at explaining things, do you think you might be able to do a video on what it is, and how to use (and not use) it ? I'd love to see that =D
You're not meant to keep it boosted indefinitely. You use it to get out of planetary/solar gravity wells when leaving stations, usually a 3-4 second burst. You can also use it to help get you to planets/stations located far away from the arrival star. Don't let your ship overheat too much, so use it in bursts.
@@OGmujrim Ah right so that's where I'm going wrong - perhaps it's a keybind or something 'coz I couldn't seem to find any way to turn it off once it had started going absolutely crazy and basically melting my ship LOL. Thanks ! =]

If you're not in so much of a hurry to grind out rank but do want to rank up. Maybe you just feel like doing missions suck. Find a Federation (or Empire) controlled system near where you can mine and or bounty hunt. Sell your mined goods at that system and you'll build rank and reputation for Federation (or Empire) without doing any missions at all. Maybe you won't get top price for your goods, but you'll still make money while building rank and rep. And also be building your Trade rank as well. Mining will also help you collect those lower level Raw Mats you'll need for engineering. Alternate between mining and bounty hunting and you can build rank for both Federation and Empire at the same time as long as both powers are present near the system you're hunting in. Use a Kill Warrant scanner to get maximum value. Bounty hunting is also a good way to collect Manufactured and Data Mats. Then just check your rank periodically to know when to go looking for a rank up mission.
"if you're not in so much of a hurry" Sorry but if it takes multiple days and dozens of hours doing it OPTIMALLY AND HEAVILY GRINDING. Id love to hear what "not being in so much of a hurry" is like time wise...
@@brentonherbert7775 the average player has only a very few hours per week. One, maybe two days per week they spend maybe 2 hours playing. If you'll notice, the vast majority of game loops to be played are effectively set on a 2 hour schedule. Where you can complete that mission or loop in 2 hours or less from start to finish. They usually don't think in terms of hours spent actually playing that game. They think in terms of weeks spent with that game taking up space on their system. OTOH, the Average GAMER spends as much or more time on Discord and such on their phone TALKING about playing. Or browsing youtube and watching videos about whatever games they play or are thinking about getting. The average GAMER is going to spend maybe 2 hours per day playing. But that time may well be split between 2 or more games. And that's not counting if they are recording gameplay and posting it to youtube themselves. And what's the most common youtube tutorial for any game out there? How to do it faster. You can accomplish literally everything Elite Dangerous has to offer without spending a single second GRINDING. For the most part just do what you enjoy doing and the rest will take care of itself. Do you enjoy mining? Go sell your product in an Empire system and you'll build Empire rank to unlock the Cutter. Or sell in a Federation system to unlock the Corvette. The only missions you HAVE to run are the rank up naval missions. And all that mining will get you stocked up with raw mats. You like Bounty Hunting? Same thing. Find a system to bounty hunt in that has both Empire and Federation factions and you can rank up both powers at one time. Add collector limpets to your bounty hunting ship and collect all those manufactured mats. Plus all the scanning gets you encoded mats as well. The sales of mining proceeds applies to reaching Elite rank in Trade. The Bounty hunting will get you to Elite rank for Combat. I've got over 15,000 hours logged playing Elite Dangerous and I still play it. I still enjoy it.
Oh I just unlocked the corvette about a week ago. I wonder what is the estimated time to unlock the corvette using your method. I was grinding from cadet to rear admiral for 6 days with 3-5 hours of playtime, all i did was assassinate and killing some pirates of lalande 18115. The mission provider is in saktsak and the station is bursch enterprise. The mission target usually spawns close to the star and the sco really helps me to interdict mission target. The downside is sometimes the mission is updated that the target isn't there and you have to meet the intel in another system.
Fair enough, sounds like a good time. I took about 4 hours total gameplay going from chief petty officer, but a fair amount of that was spent working out how it should be done, so following this guide should be a little quicker. All depends on preference and priorities 🫡
@@DiturisElite yeah i think your method is quicker considering i have to find the targets too, in the other hand i wanted to rank up my combat that's why i play bounty hunting missions. Keep up making good content cmdr, it's quite hard to find elite's guide in 2024. o7
@@DiturisElite Oh and i just realized i am using your method to unlock guardian fsd booster!!! I am currently in the moon and collecting the guardian materials but i got kicked out of the game because of maintenance 😅. Once again thank you for the guide 👍
Another corking video. I must admit I ranked up by doing passenger rescue missions when thargoids invaded. It worked well and was more fun. That said, I’ve never been one for ranking up for the sake of getting a ship and so I’ve just played and stumbled across extra ships. Taking a break from anything boring is always the way.
So true! If that was still around I’d so recommend it, it was so fun. Still, this ain’t too bad, and as you say, just take a break if it gets tedious 🫡
I’m obviously a little biased, but from what I tried before making the video, those methods don’t work anymore. The systems recommended have lost most of their federal factions, so it’s painfully slow. Check the Reddit post linked in the description if you want some specific info 🫡
@@DiturisElite I tried a couple methods including this one and granted I am no veteran in the game but it seemed very efficient and relatively enjoyable (grinding is grinding at the end of the day). So to anyone wondering my opinion at least is that this method is great! Good job on the video
In this moment, you if you have a AX ship, you can rank really fast if you do missions in the war for Sol near systems, one good way is using the easy-kill Cyclops Anaconda, you just got to the systems in invasion state, take the missions for kill Cyclops, and in one run of 3 to 5 kills you can get the 20 mission completed and rank really fast.
Too bad you didn't release this guide like a month ago lol. Did it the slow way. But I have it now and it was definitely worth it if you like PvE combat
I haven’t made a cutter guide, just because I already unlocked mine a while ago. From a bit of research I did a bit ago, it seems the old methods still work ok. Let me know if not, and I’ll get a guide in the works 🫡
I can confirm this still works now... But I changed to doing robigo missions it's far easier and quicker it's just a tad bit harder to get good passenger missions but better than walley bay... And you will earn good as well not gonna drain your bank like walley Bae
I am so glad that I finished this grind for Empire and Federation in the past. This was the most boring grind I ever experienced in ED. Never again! Also I found out that you get quite some reputation boost while killing Thargoids in AX combat or surface combat (the faction needs to own the space). So maybe that is an alternative for someone who can take it slow while actually playing the game and earning lots of credits on the side.
@@brentonherbert7775 lolll, that's what I'm seeing. might just grind some "boring" missions so that I don't make the fun missions boring from over-playing them.
Been playing ED for 2 years and have yet to unlock the Corvette lol. Been to focused on the Thargoid war. But I’ll definitely use this guide. I only have one Fed rank higher till Rear Admiral
This is a couple years old but Ngalinn to Mainani (not sure on the spelling lol, it’s been awhile) used to be the way to grind imperial rank. Take a small fast ship and run courier missions between the two. A lot of the rank missions are kill quests so something that can fight is a bonus. Going in with a few hundred million will be a big boost. There are usually a lot of donation missions.
@@prisonerofthehighway1059 thanks! I ended up doing just that long ago, though I was thoroughly disappointed these were just courier missions as I have made a type-9 cargo build specifically for this
Ye, I hear ceos used to be great. I tried it before I found this method though and just doesn’t seem to work anymore, nearly all the fed factions are gone. Still, if some can get it work that’s great. Thanks mate 🫡
o7 Dituri. I tried your Type 9 Heavy build but even in Solo I get deleted by pirates it is not a safe setup as linked in your coriolis builds. If you got a suggestion that can actually fly into the system without being destroyed within 30 seconds please let me know :S
To be honest, the T9 is always like this. A bigger shield/more boosters and hit points helps, but the only thing that’ll consistently work is mastering the SCO and supercruise assist techniques so you don’t give pirates time, or mastering interdiction avoidance. It’s fairly possible in the t9, surprisingly enough. Sorry it’s not going well, hope you find a successful solution 🫡
@@DiturisElite Oh thank you for the response and I apologize for the initial comment, in hindsight it sounds a bit harsh. It is going okay now, this turns out to be 100% a skill issue on my part and not a fault of your guides at all! The solution I went for is lower the overall capacity and slap on some stronger shields and multi cannon turrets and frankly anything under a Krait MK2 gets a significant beating while the shields hold. I would like to add that I absolutely love your videos, I am a newer player and the other (older) guides one finds online are dauntingly efficient and do not sound like fun. o7
Well you're doing something wrong, then. I'm doing it right now and it's working fine. Make sure you're allied with the federal factions at the station, many missions won't become available until you reach a certain standing with each individual minor faction. This is how every minor faction in the game works. If you can't take the source and deliver missions, donate to the factions until your rep is high enough.
Yeah, it’s kinda annoying. It’s the best I’ve found that still works I’m afraid, everywhere else has lost most of the fed factions. Still, at least you get some coin and trade rank here 🫡
Im playing on Xbox. Can anyone advise in what to do if the mining/source and return mission dry up ? Also, after donation missions i seem to get quite a few follow up missions which are chained. If i complete these missions will they update the mission board with more of the mining/source and return?
Good news - being on Xbox should be fine for this method. The mining/source missions restock every 10 mins or so of real time, so you won’t actually ever run out. Still, you might have fewer than you’d like on a run, but this improves with your rank with the fed factions. A chained mission is always good news, so do it if you can/fancy, but it won’t give you more missions
Rescuing people from burning stations during the Nine Martyrs attacks in 3307 was a great way to quickly rise through the ranks with both Federal and Imperial navies.
If I remember it took me about 4 hours gameplay from petty officer. Not the quickest process, but as I say it’s a chill process to do in between more exciting stuff. It’s the fastest I can find at the moment, as all the other methods don’t work 🫡
Ah yep, I have that a load. I recon it’s just misreading more than Mandela. Even reading your comment I couldn’t see a difference the first time you spelled them out 😅 I guess the human (or at least my) brain sees a new word and tries to say it before looking at the order of letters. This happens in elite a tonne for me, just lots of unfamiliar names that I often get wrong and confuse my friends 😅🫡
You bet they do... I spent a lot donating to get the cutter and the same for the vette; cut down the grind significantly. If you got money to burn, systems at war or with a tanked economy have a lot of donation quests.
@@crypticcyru5907 Means very little. And this game isnt exactly the sort thats "better with friends" because the stuff you CAN actually do together is worthless.
Doesn’t work anymore unfortunately. It used to be great (I unlocked my cutter with it), but all the systems that everyone raves about for the federals (ochosi, ceos etc) just don’t have enough federal factions anymore. Checkout the Reddit post in description if ya fancy 🫡

Thank you very much !! No B.S., straight to the point, and demonstrating how to use the games interface is so awesome. I hope your channel grows and you continue to make this exact type of content. Other youtubers just don't seem to get that new players are still coming into the game and need VERY SPECIFIC help.
December 23rd 2024 - Successfully using this to rank up my federal rank. Great vid THANK YOU
I unlocked the Corvette quote a while ago, almost exclusively by doing rescues from burning stations, but this was still an informative video.
I got my Corvette years ago, but your videos are awesome and more people need to see them, so commenting for the algorithm gods o7
Thanks for the video, I was definitly frustrated when I found it.
I did find another method that might not be faster in terms of gametime, but is worth it for me:
Sitting in Sol stations and just doing the cash donations, they will give over 3% progress when I was going from post commander to post Captian.
about every 10 minutes I'll check in while doing something else and do the donations again. and if I wanna be active I'll just go around to the stations.
Been a long time since i last docked my ships, might be time to head back out in the stars and finally get that corvette.
Back when I made my fortune, it was a quaint little system called Qi Yomishii and Njulngan. It was even a massacre mission farm. I miss them.
Yep, did this myself off screen! Couldn’t fit it in the script organically, but I hope people work it out 🫡
Good old board flipping. I miss those.
I really really really regret not finding this before I spent an entire weekend at ochosi being a glorified mailman, amazing video!
@@DiturisElite And now we need a large ship unlock for the Alliance, you know, for balance sake!! LOL
I was so hoping you'd make a video on this. I'm happy as hell
Put hull reinforcement in the military slot and ram pirates. Your hull is hard enough to take the hit and it's highly amusing.
Thank You. I have 2 ranks to go. 2 ranks to go, and this will really help speed things up.
Keep them coming and keep them basic. I’m not exactly new and appreciate your hard work and the help it offers me.
No system hopping needed, go to Galileo to get your gold, silver, and Cobalt, with any luck you can make around 200m in a very short time
You are very good at explaining things. Liked and subscribed. Awesome video!
I might give this a try and see how it compares to doing passengers to Sothis, courier missions are okay but if I can get the last 2 ranks quicker then I'm definitely going to try something.
Damn... I wish I knew about this mwthod sooner instead of grinding courier jobs. Both for Feds and Empire.
Still, the ships unlocked were worth it.
Heyyyyyyy you found the same way I'm doing it, but instead of grinding it out I just do this as needed to help BGS instead lol. Love the videos man.
Great one is also the Xeno passenger recue missions from federation space.
Love this video. I got my fed corvet recently and it was a pain to get so I wish I had this video. Hopefully you'll have one soon for the empire though. Either way I'm glad others will have a better method than I did
Thanks mate. Empire might be tricky to record as I already got the cutter 😅 still, I’ll give it a shot if people are interested 🫡
@@DiturisElite ha ha fair. Though you could try an ult account with a sale?. I know it would help me out a lot to have a video for the cutter at least
True, should probably grab one at some point
Already had my Conda from about a few years back, just returned to the game a few weeks back and now i finally have my Cutter. /sigh Now it's time to get the last 5 ranks i need for the Corvette. Been using my Cutter for mining, what a pig of a ship(But i still really like it), really doesn't like turning but laser mining with it is pretty good. Going to use the Corvette for combat. Thanks for the info.
Using my cutter to grind for a corvette is great 😊
@@brentonherbert7775 sure you have kid. We totally believe you.
If a little time-consuming, of course, it's Elite! ;)
Yeah, broken now unfortunately ☹️🫡
Excellent guide sir. Your videos are top
Wow. Freaking great guide! I still need to do the rank up my alt accnt, and I it has been a few years since I have done it. Thank you! o7 CMDR
That must’ve been… some week.
Massive respect, you must’ve been feeling like hitting the self destruct button by the end… 🫡
@@DiturisElite Not my first day in this game. I began with 35 mil and a Python and 7 days later I had my Fleet Carrier and both Imperial and Federal ranks I stated previously. It was a blast.
Nice no nonsense turorial gotta give ya a sub
I may already have lost hair earning the right to buy a Corvette (Despite being a non-combat CMDR) but thank you, thank you, thank you CMDR Dituri for helping keep my own love for Elite going, and helping others find theirs.
You can ise it for so much more as combat i'll have it for passengers and cargo as an explorer it is allthow ok.
Very good info, thank you.
@@DiturisElite You have to take all the fed missions as well as missions from the other factions delivering to the fed factions
I have been farming federation rank last week and was already applying this exact method, without any outside help :D
in my opinion, doing a few delivery quests in between, and buy the stuff for the other missions at the destination.
it may change things up a bit during this tiresome grind
So I’m honestly on the fence about it
I just did after not playing for 4 years. Do it man.
There's also the Canopus-Exphiay route, but it is primarily courier missions and imo, pretty repetitive. Although the station in Canopus is 42,000 Ls away :P
True. I tried this last week before working this method out - it doesn’t work anymore unfortunately. There’s only 1 federal faction 😒🫡
Fsd overcharge
Comment for the algorithm gods! Cool video!
Ceos - Sothis tourist run is still viable, along with evacuation of damaged stations. You can do many missions on these in one go.
It really does feel like work
Dude that colour scheme is beautiful. care sharing the matrix numbers?

"if you're not in so much of a hurry"
Sorry but if it takes multiple days and dozens of hours doing it OPTIMALLY AND HEAVILY GRINDING.

OMG so cool! Amazing videos! Is it work for the empire? I think yes. Do you have suggested systems/ports?
Back when mining was a money maker, I made so muhc money in two days I bought 3 of these things lol ... those days are gone
I can't do it "in between". My exploration is already 7 months long and it is 47% complete yet :D. But I have corvette, so no worries :D
If you want to get the rank mission changed to something els a relog changes the mission if i remember correct
True! Also works by just opening the mission board again, used this myself off camera 🫡
I tought that was enough, just wasnt sure as its a long time ago i did it. Don't want to spread lies you know🤣
Question to anyone who has done this farm or any others, is this faster than doing the same with passenger or courier missions?
I’m obviously a little biased, but from what I tried before making the video, those methods don’t work anymore.
The systems recommended have lost most of their federal factions, so it’s painfully slow. Check the Reddit post linked in the description if you want some specific info 🫡
@@DiturisElite I tried a couple methods including this one and granted I am no veteran in the game but it seemed very efficient and relatively enjoyable (grinding is grinding at the end of the day). So to anyone wondering my opinion at least is that this method is great! Good job on the video
pls make a vid for the cutter
still works!
Thanks for the info! Is this method still the best one to rank up and could I do a similar thing in the Empire side to get myself that sweet Cutter?
In this moment, you if you have a AX ship, you can rank really fast if you do missions in the war for Sol near systems, one good way is using the easy-kill Cyclops Anaconda, you just got to the systems in invasion state, take the missions for kill Cyclops, and in one run of 3 to 5 kills you can get the 20 mission completed and rank really fast.
Too bad you didn't release this guide like a month ago lol. Did it the slow way. But I have it now and it was definitely worth it if you like PvE combat
The blue is your carier with "best price ever"
lol where? 😅 I don’t think I ever called it that
is there a guide you have for the Cutter that is up to date are all the other ones out there from years ago still valid?
I haven’t made a cutter guide, just because I already unlocked mine a while ago. From a bit of research I did a bit ago, it seems the old methods still work ok. Let me know if not, and I’ll get a guide in the works 🫡
I can confirm this still works now... But I changed to doing robigo missions it's far easier and quicker it's just a tad bit harder to get good passenger missions but better than walley bay... And you will earn good as well not gonna drain your bank like walley Bae
How did you increase your rank in Robigo if there are no Federation representatives there now?
I am so glad that I finished this grind for Empire and Federation in the past. This was the most boring grind I ever experienced in ED. Never again! Also I found out that you get quite some reputation boost while killing Thargoids in AX combat or surface combat (the faction needs to own the space). So maybe that is an alternative for someone who can take it slow while actually playing the game and earning lots of credits on the side.
Is it viable to just do bounty hunting/combat zone missions? I really enjoy the combat, but I do want this ship...
It is... but it'll take you about 20 times longer.... Because spending 400 hours getting 1 ship is good gameplay according to Fdev...
@@brentonherbert7775 lolll, that's what I'm seeing. might just grind some "boring" missions so that I don't make the fun missions boring from over-playing them.

I just did high level assassination missions each mission is at least 1 percent Somtimes 2
Been playing ED for 2 years and have yet to unlock the Corvette lol. Been to focused on the Thargoid war. But I’ll definitely use this guide. I only have one Fed rank higher till Rear Admiral
Great! I’ve been playing for 5 years and only just bothered 😅🫡
what would be comparable systems for the Empire to rank up using the same method?
This is a couple years old but Ngalinn to Mainani (not sure on the spelling lol, it’s been awhile) used to be the way to grind imperial rank. Take a small fast ship and run courier missions between the two. A lot of the rank missions are kill quests so something that can fight is a bonus. Going in with a few hundred million will be a big boost. There are usually a lot of donation missions.
@@prisonerofthehighway1059 thanks! I ended up doing just that long ago, though I was thoroughly disappointed these were just courier missions as I have made a type-9 cargo build specifically for this
Well done chap. Robigo runs for Imperial rank, and from Brunel, in Ceos for Fed rank works quite well.
I would like to add that I absolutely love your videos, I am a newer player and the other (older) guides one finds online are dauntingly efficient and do not sound like fun. o7
Just went to this system. There were barely any missions i could take at all.
Nice
Where have you gone?
would the type-8 be any good for this?
It would be great tbh. Not the best in the game, but certainly effective 🫡

I had a wingman though, so I essentially got double credits. We did wing missions sourcing palladium and tritium as they commonly pay 50m.
Tried it, it sort of works, but it is nowhere close to the insane leveling speed of ngalinnmainani empire grind.
Indeed it was, and good fun too. Wasn’t to last forever though
how long would this take?
If I remember it took me about 4 hours gameplay from petty officer. Not the quickest process, but as I say it’s a chill process to do in between more exciting stuff. It’s the fastest I can find at the moment, as all the other methods don’t work 🫡
You really think is Malbera, but is Malerba. MAL-BERA MAL-ERBA.
Maybe a Mandela Effect.
Ah yep, I have that a load. I recon it’s just misreading more than Mandela. Even reading your comment I couldn’t see a difference the first time you spelled them out 😅
I guess the human (or at least my) brain sees a new word and tries to say it before looking at the order of letters. This happens in elite a tonne for me, just lots of unfamiliar names that I often get wrong and confuse my friends 😅🫡
@ Lets agree Malbera is much better.
So donation missions do upgrade Fed rank... I'm sitting on 9bn cr so I dont care about giving a few mil away... lol
You bet they do... I spent a lot donating to get the cutter and the same for the vette; cut down the grind significantly. If you got money to burn, systems at war or with a tanked economy have a lot of donation quests.
Is this game dead on console? Looking to get back into it but don’t really gotta lotta friends who play it
Console support was cut years ago.
It still has a loyal fan base though.
@@crypticcyru5907 Means very little. And this game isnt exactly the sort thats "better with friends" because the stuff you CAN actually do together is worthless.
@@brentonherbert7775 turns out the devs are considering supporting console again. Not guarenteedbut its being talked about.
Idk Ceos grind seems more efficient to me
Doesn’t work anymore unfortunately, that’s why I made the video 🫡
Unlocked that mf 4 hours before this video was posted 😵💫😂
🤦♂️
@@DiturisElite empire is up next tho if you wanna give a tutorial on that 🫶🏼
I am losing my mind
sothis and ceos
No longer works sadly, that’s why I made the video.. 🫡
@@DiturisElite :'(((
(the sweaty, jaded commander sees this video) nOO! 😡 This isn't efficient!! You need to do Robigo runs and hate every minute of it like I did!!! 😡😡😭😭
Stacking courier missions is still faster then this because the turn around is so much quicker.
Doesn’t work anymore unfortunately. It used to be great (I unlocked my cutter with it), but all the systems that everyone raves about for the federals (ochosi, ceos etc) just don’t have enough federal factions anymore.

The Buur pit says Hi
But… but i just re-unlocked it 39 minutes ago!!!!
