waiting for my first camera here in Finland. it's 2000D. Thanx for all these videos, i have learn so much about using camera as a beginner. Keep up the good work!
Yet another great video Paul. Your explanations are always easy to follow & thoroughly enjoyable. Can’t thankyou you enough. Learning so much from you which in turn increases my confidence. Thanks again. Looking forward to seeing more from you. ❤
Your videos are so helpful. I just got a t7i and although there are a few buttons and dials that are different, all the settings are basically the same. Thank you again for such great videos
THANK YOU!! your videos are so wonderful, and you explain how to use the camera so easily, I also can't thank you enough for VISUALLY showing how to work the camera rather than just telling you're viewers
Hi paul, i really enjoyed watching this video, it will really help a lot of photographers. This is a great Topic and one that's not talked about very much in photography. When i'm using live view i like to use manual focus, i feel more confident in using manual focus. You will save on time instead of changing the settings in the viewfinder then switch back to liveview. Just learning making little changes here and there make a big difference, Thanks for sharing this great video.
My SL2 has live view. You can use the viewfinder or live view. It is also known as the 200D. I use it around the house. My travel camera is the M6 mark II. I got used to using a screen so I didn't buy the optional viewfinder. Anyways, the SL2 on a tripod in live view makes it easy to take slow shutter photos or vlog videos with the flip screen.
This is great (as an absolute beginner in Photography and as a Canon user!). Can I ask how you would photograph a parade (such as a carnival parade or a Remembrance/Armistice day parade)? Thank you!
Hi Paul, another interesting video, thanks for sharing .. for any Nikon newbies, the equivalent of the Q button when in live view on Canon is the "i" button to enable you to get to your settings.
I've got a Canon T7, and ISO is not missing from the Q display. ISO is there with the other icons. Mine might be a slightly newer model. Also, it's very easy to make all of these adjustments from your phone, once your phone is connected to the camera. The live display, then, shows up on your phone screen. This is handy for long exposures involving a tripod. Thanks for the video.
Hi Paul, I'm a beginner with the Canon 2000D usually use it on Auto but really want to get into manual shooting. Came across your tutorials and think I'll stick around, I think you will help :-) But a question If I may, Am I right in believing the 2000D does NOT have an auto cleaning mode for sensor cleaning ? I can only find a Manual cleaning mode ( or Sensor Cleaning Data ) regards Graham
Thanks for the helpful info! I think my Canon is a T5i (I have gaffers tape over all the names). Man, I can't wait until I can afford to get a mirrorless camera. For years, it was Sony, all the way! But there are a few others now just as good, or possibly even better - I haven't followed them all that closely. I won a Panasonic Lumix camera on RUclips, but I had to sell it. Loved it while I had it. Mirrorless has so many awesome features!
hi i just got a job that needs me to take photoshoots but my problem is i leave a lot of headroom in my photos or i bend too much thus making the person too tall what do i do to stop that. i really need the tips
Great video and great tips. Something I wish I took the time to do is establish muscle memory with regards to the camera's controls and settings. Just as an aside, are you a fan of The Who or were you in the RAF?😁 Keep up the good work Paul. All the best.
I am a hobby Photographer and using canon 1500d ....to upgrade camera what I should opt ...canon 90d or canon 5d mark iv ? I am interested in bird photography .
Hi Paul, Have a question: (almost the last part of the video) Focus white box on live view I click and hold the button to get the box green, but it takes a picture. What am I doing wrong
I have a question, but firstly I am 89 and I have a SLR 500 N Cannon, hardly used. However my question is I create a porcelain and glass pieces in my studio, and would like to know HOW I can take high resolution pictures of my pieces, is it possible for you to tell me how I set up my camera, and what sort of backdrop I need. Thank you.
Paul I have a question for you Can you please make a video with an intervalometer Apparently since I've had mine for a year and a quarter I went to go use it again after changing batteries I forgot how to work the damn thing with my Pentax K-70 Because I was using 2 10 stop filters and I know I needed approximately 15 to 22 minutes maybe slightly more in bulb mode but nothing is working
HELP!!!! PLEASE, Paul: I've the Canon T-3 (1100D), with "*" set as back button autofocus. Using a lens set to Auto Focus, the following occurs: It works when using the viewfinder, but if I use Live View/LCD, when I press the "*" for autofocusing, pressing the "*" trips the shutter instead of acting as an autofocus. Why is that happening and what is the solution, please.
It's not unusual for some of the camera settings to be different when using the Live View / LCD screen. I would check the custom settings and AF settings in the menu. Sorry I cannot help further.
I have a EOS Rebel T100/EOS 3000D and i can’t do the ISO tricks can you help with this? because most of the settings in the menu you showed don’t appear on my camera
Hi Paul, this is Amitava Chakrabarty (from Kolkata, India). I am a subscriber to your channel for almost a year now. Using the Canon 3000D, I love night sky photography. But have not been able to locate an intervalometer compatible with the said camera model. Can you be of some help, please? Please!!
Your tutorials are awesome! I learned so much. Thank you Paul!

Hi Paul, Have a question: (almost the last part of the video) Focus white box on live view I click and hold the button to get the box green, but it takes a picture. What am I doing wrong
Hold the button just halfway down to focus, it may take a second or two. If it still doesn’t work then check the lens is not set to manual focus (MF).
Great video, I will follow for more :)
Awesome, thank you!
Do you need a bigger SD memory card to change the basic function on the Canon camera
The memory card does not affect any of the camera functions, but a bigger capacity memory card will mean you can take more photos.
Hope that helps

Hi Paul, I hope you can answer my question. I have a 70D. Why isn't my external flash firing when I use live view to take a shot?
I'm using Godox TT600 btw.
What is are good lenses for canon t7. I have the kit lense now need better lenses.
how do you remove the word " protected ". I might have touched on some buttons in my camera that one picture became3 " protected ".
i cannot see the option beyond wifi functions on my camera
I want to learn how to snap picture with camera
How do you put it in live view mode?
On most Canon cameras you simply press the button on the rear of the camera that has the camera icon on it.
Hope that helps.
