  • Hey, friends, I hope y’all are staying cool out there. Good lord it’s blazing hot here in TN.
    Please don’t forget about this ..
    It’s 90% music and 10% the guitar. It doesn’t matter what instrument you’re playing. Guitar just happens to be the vehicle.
    It’s all about the ear and feel. You have to be able to hear this stuff to play it in a way that communicates something. It is indeed a language.
    The quicker we can think in this way the better the music will be.
    Have fun with these ideas!

    Trapp, you’re the only dude on RUclips that is teaching the philosophy of how to speak with our instruments/guitars instead of just mechanically playing notes. Thank you my man, it’s profoundly changed my guitar playing.

    Saw the show at the Underdog last week with John Oates, and it was amazing. Intimate and Guthrie has a great sense of humor. He is very gracious with his time after the show. Talked to me and my daughter and took pictures. Highlight of my trip to Nashville and only 10 freakin dollars. Thanks again Guthrie.

    Guthrie. I gotta tell you, man I’m lowering all the triads to the cage system all the you know different versions all of that, but I can’t see myself really playing them. Why go to C shaped E chord when you could just borrow across the E on the seventh fret or the sixth fret, and just play that bar cord or any of the other C shaped cords and the shaped cord why would I go to a C cord with an a shaped it doesn’t make sense to me. I’d rather play the bar in versions of it and I could still play the same kind of things off of that. Anyway, let me know. Thank you.

    • @mojodojo5533
      @mojodojo5533 9 дней назад +2

      My reply would be when your trying to solo or improv the triads are the notes to solo with and, usually, the chords/triads of the progression those notes are usually right next to each other. Basically you could solo over every chord all in an area of about 4 -5 frets.
