Ain't no money in the world can beat memories like this! Back of the truck, half froze, & beautiful hardwoods full of gobbling turkeys!
Live for it!
Long time ago, LOL! Me and a good buddy had a cold windy snowy morning in NC. Bird gobbled his head off on roost, wouldn't fly down till fog cleared off the Mountain! Set on him for 2 hours, just about froze. But it sure was a good morning when that joker come off the limb!!!!!! Brought back memories. Thanks, Dave!!!!!
Dave We always say If Ya don't like the Weather in Ky, just wait 15 mins! Now Ya know Why its called The Happy Hunting Ground! Congrats Fellars!
Thanks for carrying us with ya, it helps us thru the off season.
I knew that trigger pull was coming after those last few yelps! haha. One of my favorite vids yet.
Dang right another awesome video. I’ve almost watched all of them. Including the one’s from this year.. I will definitely watch them again.. keep up the good work & good luck this spring!
If I was guessing I’m gonna say that was opening day because we froze as well. Gotta love Kentucky weather 🙄.. Great Hunt 👍🏻
Guys, your calling is absolutely phenomenal. Best sounding diaphragm calling I think I've ever heard.
Dave is a Grand National Champion Caller. He is one of the best callers walking the earth!
I’ve hoped he would do a video on his “bubbly” cuts. I’ve still not got that call down yet.
One of the best so far! Love the hardwood mountain ridges. looks like what I hunt in VA & TN
I was watching sitting here in the AC drinking ice water. I felt every bit of the cold wind and snow flurries while I watched. Some well earned turkeys. And you are correct.."the way they are suppose to be hunted". Thanks for letting me sit behind you and ole Squirrel, and watch.
You're very welcome! Thanks for following!
Another great video! Thank you.
I know it felt good for you to finally pull the trigger. You had a rough week or so, then watched a couple buddies pull the trigger. It was about time you got to do the same. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
You're right!
Thank you for sharing this great hunt , it’s like I was there with you 👏
Excellent calling! Hitting those notes in high soprano A minor!
Very nice, I can't wait for the spring!
the fly down cackle was really good. love this video
Rewatching again...goooooodddddddd olllllllll Kentuckkkkkkkkkkyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome back squirrel, great turkeys hats off to you
Dave, that is a great Barred Owl call you do!
Who cooks for you? Who cooks for youuuu
Love to hear you work those birds. . Fantastic video.
Great video. This was a crazy April. I remember a couple days here in north eastern Kentucky we had like half an inch of snow and crazy winds. Rain and snow most of the season. Finally tagged out the last weekend couldn't get it done on public tho should have hunted it more tho.
It was a Spring that just seemed like it didn't want to get started!
Why on earth did you not shoot the yote?!?!? Bad decision. Otherwise, great video as always!
Headed to the NWTF in Nashville this coming up weekend and have a blast and meet new friends.
Like ur videos Dave u guys are very knowledgeable turkey Hunter's. Don't change anything
Awesome video!! I wish you would make a video of you just running your mouth call I don’t see how you sound that realistic
He's a grand national champ! Best damn mouth yelper around!
If that doesn't turn your crank nothing will!!!! AWESOME!!!
enjoyed, reminds me of my younger days ,belly crawling and hunting hard
Congrats on 2 nice long beards Kentucky has a lot of birds ive hunted it for years .more then likely that same public ground.
Opening week of MO season this year brought 20+ mph winds and flurries. Never had to hunt anything like it so I can respect what you guys went through. We killed a couple birds but it was tough.
Great video
You know and I know how much sweeter this day was because of the dues you paid the prior few days. Any day out there is a great day having said that.
Headed to Caldwell co . Counting down the days!
It was some cold weather that year in KY.
still a great video guys !
double down! oh hell yea!!!congrats!!
wow that is so coooooooooooolllllllllll
Some of my biggest birds where killed on days like this while everybodys at home nice job guys good to see that passion
These are my type of guys right here !!
I remember to 2018 Turkey season the 1st day it snowed. I don't know where y'all were, but if you want the true KY public land hunt experience then try Taylorsville lake WMA. If that's where you was at then I know the pain, but if not you need to try it. Also we have a saying that goes if you don't like the weather in Kentucky then stick around for a few hours it will change. It's weird here.
What are you all filming with?
Now just saying,,I never let them egg trukey eating thing get away,, 👍🙏🦊🦃
Congratulations on two Fine gobblers. I always thought the Golden Rule while deer or turkey hunting was to shoot the coyote. Other than that fine video
What app do you us to see layout of the land around were your hunting at
on x
Any turkey Hunter that lets a coyote walk ain't no kinda turkey Hunter in my book
So you drive 8 hours to Kentucky, are there to turkey hunt not coyote hunt and you would compromise your chance at a gobbler for a coyote?
Don't wine About something We Love,,, LoL,,i what to Sleep,, 😮
I'm all for getting my bird, but those two yotes would have gotten SMASHED.
Wonder if that yote went to bed thinking, Whew, a gobbler saved my life today!?
Where in Kentucky was y’all hunting?
Some want you to shoot every coyote but it makes no sense when ur working a coming bird & he's pretty close. Your project is about killing turkey. Good call & great hunt. Thanks again 👍
What turkey vest is that
You think those birds are big ? They're little guys compared to the monsters we have wandering around the neighborhoods out here on cape cod ... we dont have gobblers we have T-rex's with feathers . Massachusetts has gi-friggen-gantic Tom's
Love your videos! My sons and I would love to hunt Kentucky, what is the first step, in your opinion, to begin to hunt a new area you have never been to before. Thanks
Thanks! Consulting maps if you already have your area nailed down would be number one. And that topic could be discussed for hours. I'd suggest looking into some of the podcasts out there for advice with maps- I've even been invited on a few and that's always a topic of discussion.
Alot of habitat diversity in a small area.
Great hunt ! It’s so fun when the plan comes together !! I think I would have screwed up and shot that coyote! The number of turkeys and poults fawns rabbits they kill ! That and hogs eat every egg they find. Wish we could eradicate them all !
good times
I don't know why y'all don't step on them gobblers necks to stop them from flopping! I always jump on top of them because I've seen them get up and run or fly off!
dont matter what im hunting if i see a coyote it becomes a coyote hunt.
21:55 to 22:12 story of my season 2021
How much u charge to send me one i bet i done spent 60 bucks on calls n cant find one i like getting close to alabama season
What kind of snake gaiters do you wear?
Those are to just help keep dry, nothing for the snakes.
@@pinhotiproject Gotcha. What are they?
@@wayneparnell1730 Those are Kenetrek gaiters.
tripod !
Yep coyote would of got crushed
do you ever hunt LBL
Video starts at 8:30 holy fuck
There are parts of this video I like but I have to say I’d be more likely to actually “like” the video and subscribe if it wasn’t so long. I skipped through a majority of it just to get to the good stuff. Not trying to sound negative just giving my two cents and being honest on what I think would make this video better for more people. Nice birds tho! Cheers 🍻
What mouth call u running
I stretch my own calls. And I prefer a ghost cut.
Dave Owens: the Pinhoti Project make the calls and sell them people will buy them.
Come on. One coyote worth more than those birds. Save a lot of turkey and fawns by blasting it. Weak. Could have killed the yote and still called the birds in.
I'm trying to be nice and not criticize this video, but... I have to say this because it may help in the future. When those gobblers are coming in, and are withing sight of you, STOP CALLING, especially the active cutting. In this case it worked out for you, but I have seen dozens of times the toms just hang up and leave. So if you walked into a room and heard a beautiful voice calling to you, over and over, and never saw who it was, would you freak out a little? Same story here.
I just have seen way too many people get frustrated that their perfect calling didn't work once the gobblers got 75 yards out. They use both their eyes and ears. Decoys help.
@@BigRedRIP if you hang around for a few more videos, you'll notice very few trends because we adapt to the situations- heck, they're some videos you'll never hear a call made. The one trend you will be able to pick up on though, we don't use decoys. Different strokes for different folks. Appreciate ya watching.
Been turkey hunting 37 years and your definite just doesn't work all the time. Sometimes you need to keep a bird hot to keep him interested and coming in. That may be shutting up, low, purrs and clucks or cranking out the excited calls. There simply isn't one answer and your experience, of which I know nothing, is still just anecdotal.
You would have gained me as a subscriber if you shot that yote. 😥
Public land bullshit we’re not stupid
