Y E S S S S S, I fucking LOVED this game!! I'd do that glitch to get the super powerful taxi concept car
Midnight Club checkpoints had an arrow pointing to the next checkpoint and would also show the next two checkpoints on the minimap and you could even pull up the big map to see the whole race. In this game, you never know when the end of the race will be so you can't time your nitro.

the fact you couldn't choose your own car color is amazing to me ! like how can the developers spend so much time ( i assume ) on making the car models, only to limit you to 2 colors ( stock and tuned )
I think this game is enjoyable if you get used to the handling, the city feels alive and is fun to drive around in and lose cops, especially compared to its contemporaries like drivthreeer, ultimately it’s let down by lack of tracks and tuning. I would recommend it only to someone who is upset from midnight club still being cancelled
True! The city is actually very well made, I was not expecting to have that much freedom to just go anywhere, and every place looks so different, it's very cool!
@@BlooTeg I tried the psp version and I think it makes a lot more sense as a portable game, it’s basically the same but uglier, but the handling model makes sense. You can pull a near 90c turn without losing much speed and it suits the tiny analog of the psp over a gamepad with large movement space. The map display and scroll is also better than 90% of video games weirdly and opens in a flash. Only annoying thing is hitting another car will either make you spin out immediately or you’ll tank through with 0 consistency. And the camera pan is ass. They also set it difficulty to easy by default but I still wasn’t able to set records. There’s also a weird stunt arena thing idk how it’s meant to work. Overall I can say I’m right to defend it and the psp one is worth having.
I got into midnight club L.A. I loved everything about it... until one time I was doing a difficult race and winning near the end for the first time in MANY tries and, along a long straight where I could see there were no obstacles to avoid anywhere near in front of me, suddenly a civilian car literally faded in from thin air in front of me too close to avoid and I smashed into it and lost the race... again. This was the most infuriating instance of a video game cheating to beat the player I had ever experienced and it took all my self control not to snap the game in half. Needless to say I never played it again. Now, the Midnight Club series was a series I knew to be infuriating at times but I still loved the first three, especially the third one because I love to customize cars, but it always seemed like the first three games in the franchise would eventually make the race a little easier if you lost too many times instead of outright cheating to make it impossible. I don't know but from my perspective Midnight Club L.A. killed the franchise. Now I sort of feel like playing Midnight Club 3 again, that game was so great.
I played this game a lot as a kid and liked it, but I do remember the game feeling wonkier than other racing games. I’ll never forget how I beat it. The last race when you race against the boss and have all the cars trying to crash into you, the boss missed a jump and didn’t reset onto his track correctly, so he got stuck accelerating into a building while I was able to finish the race at my own pace. Lmao. More evidence for how well the game was made. 😆
Man, the nostalgia is strong with this one. I love this game. I don’t even care that you can’t customize anything like that. You guys see an NFS copy, I see a baby MCLA and GTA V. The music is really, REALLY good. I wish the LA Rush album was on streaming sites.
Playing LA Rush as a 5 year old is probably one of my earliest memories funnily enough, I had just bought a ps2 on a trip to the states and this and a few other games with it, I probably played dozens of games back then but this is the ONLY game I remember ever playing. The funny thing is that I never got far into it, I didn’t know what memory cards were back then and I never asked my parents for one for some reason, so I usually would play enough to get the second car (I wanna say it was an Impala) but not enough to actually play with the second car. I know what this video is about to say won’t be flattering but I’ve kind of made amends with the fact that this game is terrible long ago. It still holds a lot of value and memories though.
Hey, don't worry, I punish myself for not liking these games anymore every day hahah But it can't ever take the memories we got with them, with some I even come back to from time to time just to remember again

The cars and destruction was good and I loved the soundtrack, made me a twista fan back than. But you got some good points, playing that as a kid I never realized its a bad midnight club copy.
I remember the one thing I really liked about this game were all the strange "hidden" areas of the LA map- I would boot it up on my PSP and just cruise around the districts looking for cool level designs- the races themselves, yeah not the fairest

Once again, great video! My suggestion for some next one is Overspeed: High Performance Street Racing. It is a budget game from 2008 and the reason why I mention it is that for a budget game (it sold for what was equivalent to 4$ at the time here in Poland) it actually was fun and quite unique in its mechanics. The price showed in many areas but my opinion is this game essentially is one of the few examples of budget game done right.
1:20 Didn't Pitbull Syndicate also release a demolition racing game by the name of "Demolition Racer" for both PS1 and Sega Dreamcast? Because the way how the Test Drive 4 footage you pulled up looks similar to the physics and playstyle that that game also had. ...odd how these things pops to my mind out of the blue...
Man I played this game for hours when I was a kid. I learned to deal with it's bullshit and loved it. Hearing him explain all of the races and how bad the track system is just had me laughing hysterically like "yep it's great isn't it". As a young kid I just didn't own any other racing games really and rarely got to play any good ones.
I understand with you fully Blue. Like one game i was excited to play and no matter how many times it kept getting delayed i was still excited to play it, and that game was Spore with so many things gone from it.
@@BlooTeg I still loved Spore even to this day. It's just if you look up very old videos of it's development and how more detailed it was. Like they showed one time that you could choose to evolve to go on land or evolve still but live in the sea and could build undersea cities when you advance through the stages like say tribal or modern day. Also the customization of your creature or say buildings and ship looked way more advanced and with more options than what we got on release. Also you can find a video of Robin Williams at a showcasing of early devolpment of Spore and he played it and it's so funny and you could tell he was really enjoying what he was playing.
Aw, I see what you mean, that sucks but at least you still ended up liking it It seems like a very chill game, but definitely seems like they wanted something really big for it
How the hell do you barely have 2k subs? I know people always like to exaggerate and say stuff like "oh you deserve 12 trillion subscribers maan" but I'm serious when I say you deserve *at least* 10x of what you have right now. I came across your channel earlier this month but forgot your name, and I just now found you again and was shocked about that subscriber count. I anticipate your numbers climbing rapidly in the coming months, your content is amazing. Also, I love the rat, and you've most definitely gained a long term viewer.
Why, thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! The channel has been growing way faster than I could anticipate, it has been doubling on subs every week, which is incredible! I'm just glad everyone has been liking the content and I'm honestly really happy to make these videos!
I actually didn't have much trouble with rubber banding. For me the real pain in the races was how easy to wreck your car. Either if it's with a traffic or with the environments (combined with the shitty track design). It was PAIN in the ass of me
Yup, there is a reason almost all other racing games don't require such things. I'd argue they were trying to be realistic, but even then the economy still doesn't make sense as the entry fee for all the racers still doesn't cover the prize for winning!
Holy fuck just subbed bro coming from your Twisted metal videos those were great! Huge fan of 4 lmao it's one of those first few games I remember as a kid. Spawned my love for engines, guns, anything post apocalyptic and Rob zombie. Huge memories with LA rush too. I had gotten this and Jax 2 at a Hollywood Video. didn't know it had an online mode untill a couple years ago. The random token challenges scattered around the city were always so fun to hunt down. Great vibe and the soundtrack was a Jam for its time. Someone else mentioned it here. You could select the locked car you wanted, plug your controller into port 2, exit the garage and you'll be driving whatever you had selected! Hope you get to play Twisted metal Black soon! Edit: 9:08 it gets worse. It's just visually upgraded. No improvements whatsoever. They just make it look cooler lmao
I just remembered an underrated game I used to play a lot on ps2. It’s called Ford Mustang: The Legend lives and I wonder if you’ve ever played it? It’s got a kickass soundtrack and the gameplay is not bad. Maybe you could give it a look sometime!
LA Rush was pretty great as a kid in terms of driving feel and soundtrack, but it annoyed me how long it took to unlock certain cars and how bad the customization ended up.
The fact that you could only pick one genre to play during gameplay was such a weird idea lol It just came back to me and I completely forgot to mention in the video
@@BlooTeg Yeah it was a jumbled mess of a game XD I'm glad to have found the Kaido and Shutokou Series shortly after. At the time I hated those games but my opinion reversed as I became more of an enthusiast later with games like LA Rush being hated.

TBH I'd argue it had one of the best maps counting the PS3 era as well. Even Burnout Paradise didn't allow quite the same level of freedom to go off road. Course, everything else about the game...
About pitbull studios… Thise guys might have been rebranded as “People can fly”, That company is the only one to appear in Gears of War: Judgement, that came out of left field for the time because i never heard of that studio back then so it might of been the guys at Pitbull studios and I honestly prefer that “People Can Fly” rebranding cause it looks nicer imo.
I don’t know what any of you are talking about I played this game when I was a kid and recently replayed through the whole thing and finished it in 2 days with little struggle I love this game
I bought this with my birthday money when I was little BECAUSE I thought it was a sequel to the Rush games from N64. I thought it was going to be intense, fast paced, have explosions and shit like those other games did. As soon as the story began to play and I heard the music, my face instantly fell flat. I vividly remember just ALL the joy being sucked from me in a split second. I did manage to have some fun with the game and found a dumb glitch that also let me use any car, even if it was locked. Most of my time on this game wound up being spent watching slow-motion crashes. Which I would just go back to play Burnout 3 and Revenge for that.
I love this game. Have such fond memories with it. I still have my copy on OG Xbox. Gonna have to replay it. It plays so much better on the Xbox then PS2 ... I remember that being the case.
I've played the PSP and PC versions of this game, the crash model i found it awesome honestly, on psp you cant see the car interior unlike ps2, xbox and pc, only when you crash you can see the interior a liiiittle bit only, the graphics on ps2, xbox and pc are good enough for the era, the car list in my opinion is okay to be a midnight club 3 rip-off, on psp using a heavily damaged skyline i was able to see the engine and it was modeled and all, i prefer to play the console ports instead the pc one because i remember installing it on a windows 10 pc before it killed it by the DRM, actually i play it on my ps vita trought the psp compatibility, i enjoy this game idk why but i enjoy it, nice video btw
Well this game was part of Midway's San Francisco Rush series (Extreme Racing, 2 USA, and 2049) But it doesn't look similar to other games in this series, also made by Midway.
I liked it when I was little now it’s like a game that Drake and josh would’ve played Like that game where they played in the show Where they drive-through garage stalls

I kinda wish this wasn't the last game in the rush series. It was still fun though. I kinda dropped this rush game and moved on to Ridge Racer 2004 due to the confusing sense of direction, and now I'm stuck and don't know where to progress from.
man I loved this game so much as a child even if I knew it was a broken mess. They dropped the ball with the "car customization" because damn some of the cars were hideous.
I actually love this game! Played it as kid and brought it back in 2015. I beat the game 100%. I like the car progression since the last. car has perfect stats and unlimited nitrous. Also you can look at the map which tells you where the next checkpoint in the race is going to be.
Sadly that doesn`t work haha I actually thought the same because of midnight club but even on the minimap it only show the next checkpoint after you get the current one But I can definitely see the nostalgia you got for it
@@BlooTeg I see what you mean. I guess you have to check the mini map after each checkpoint. I’m use to looking at maps from playing lots of Twisted Metal and Call of Duty.
I'm got me a copy of this game on the way right now and I'm pretty excited about playing it I bought the Xbox version which luckily graphically its superior over the PS2 version!
you forgot the best cheat for this game on PS2, the fast traffic cheat. Was watching Gamer Alex's video playing LA Rush and he mentioned the cheat and it was hilarious and you'd have ridiculous moments on it. Oh and also the PC port My god, you're gonna be disappointed with it when you set up the game.
I vaguely remember this game. I'm not sure if I ever played it but I think I might have rented it because I remember thinking it sucked and was really cringe inducing. I either rented it or saw and maybe played it at a friends house. If you've never played a rush game and you want to check one out, play one for N64, that's when they actually put effort into them.
@@BlooTeg One of my favorites from my teenage years. The format is that you'll do several stunt sequences for a given movie (loosely based on a real movie, the game is loosely based on a real stuntman's career), sort of like a time trial with obstacles, then you do a bonus "arena stunt" level and on to the next movie. Career mode unlocks stunt objects for custom arena mode where you can build your own custom arena stunts. It's just a lot of fun but some of the movie stunt sequences can be frustrating, you have to do a series of stunts all in one shot. Once you finish a movie, the game uses clips of your stunts for the trailer.
This is actually My shit back then. My father bought me this game and I can't stop playing it! It's good for me tho. The graphics are cheesy but the physics are good. 7/10

Oh wow, that game actually looks pretty interesting! I added to my list so I can check it out! Thanks a lot!
This game is Midnight Club Los Angeles or Midnight Pimp Club Los Angeles.
But without the good things.
Exactly.
Your channel rocks dude! Cheers from Spain
glad to see another brazillian doing this type of content, keep it up
your english is also pretty good
boa sorte com o canal mano
muito obrigado!
I used to love jumping through the Hollywood sign in this game, kinda wish Midnight Club LA's map was as open-ended as LA Rush's map
Nice video man would be cool to see nfs pro street 👀 like going back in time from undercover till hot pursuit 2
sounds like a good idea 👀
1:20 Didn't Pitbull Syndicate also release a demolition racing game by the name of "Demolition Racer" for both PS1 and Sega Dreamcast? Because the way how the Test Drive 4 footage you pulled up looks similar to the physics and playstyle that that game also had.
...odd how these things pops to my mind out of the blue...
this much be heavy nostalgia but i played it through as a kid on xbox and don’t remember how bad the bad guys are when you drive a new car back
Man I played this game for hours when I was a kid. I learned to deal with it's bullshit and loved it. Hearing him explain all of the races and how bad the track system is just had me laughing hysterically like "yep it's great isn't it". As a young kid I just didn't own any other racing games really and rarely got to play any good ones.
Me playing with hotweels as a kid:
Boom, bam, what a trick, and he escapes!
i like to watching your videos bro i hope you reach 5k subs soon, keep it up.
thanks a lot! I sure hope so too!
I understand with you fully Blue. Like one game i was excited to play and no matter how many times it kept getting delayed i was still excited to play it, and that game was Spore with so many things gone from it.
Ohhh, so spore was underwhelming? I thought everyone loved it hahah
still tho, never touched it
@@BlooTeg I still loved Spore even to this day.
Aw, I see what you mean, that sucks but at least you still ended up liking it
It seems like a very chill game, but definitely seems like they wanted something really big for it
Wow i just found a great channel.
Keep it up.
im playing this because this video remind of his existence and i installed the game on my old pc and runs great!
I played this on the original Xbox and I thought it was so good back then 😭😭
me too!
The city landscape and West coast custom really bring atsmosphere in this game
the city is actually great! so well made!
I'm just glad everyone has been liking the content and I'm honestly really happy to make these videos!
there was a trick to drive any locked car and it involved unplugging the controller during the car selection from what i remember
the high speed traffic cheat was funny as fuck
I really wanted to try that but only learned it in the comments hahah
I think the entry fee for every race really kills everything. I wasted so much time getting into a wreck at the last second and falling to 2nd.
EXACTLY! It's impressive how punishing this can be considering you're never far enough from the other racers because of the rubber banding
LOL thank you! really glad you enjoyed
the TM black video is coming out on monday!
One of my most favorite channels here on RUclips. Praise the hamster 🐹, or what ever this thing is 🤣
You’re a natural born entertainer 😃👍
Hahah thank you so much dude! I'm glad you enjoyed!
I always wanted a tv system that could only play the Pimp My Ride logo.
Same.
Love your reviews man
Really glad you enjoyed it!
i only remember that when you unplugged your controller or memory card on the ps2 and did something you could unlock all the cars
that's very weird lol I didn't try that
I just remembered an underrated game I used to play a lot on ps2. It’s called Ford Mustang: The Legend lives and I wonder if you’ve ever played it? It’s got a kickass soundtrack and the gameplay is not bad. Maybe you could give it a look sometime!
Never heard of it! I'll take a look, thanks a lot!
Ford vs Chevy was also fun
Love these videos man 😂
thank you so much haha
LA Rush was pretty great as a kid in terms of driving feel and soundtrack, but it annoyed me how long it took to unlock certain cars and how bad the customization ended up.
The fact that you could only pick one genre to play during gameplay was such a weird idea lol
It just came back to me and I completely forgot to mention in the video
@@BlooTeg Yeah it was a jumbled mess of a game XD
I'm glad to have found the Kaido and Shutokou Series shortly after. At the time I hated those games but my opinion reversed as I became more of an enthusiast later with games like LA Rush being hated.
@@BlooTeg New Obscure Nostalgia game btw- Disney had a skater game on the PS2 called Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure. One of the easiest Disney games to date XD
I agree, I thought the Customization was going to be in depth like the Midnight Club and NFS games but it's one tuned version of car.
@@MastermindAtWork And not even that, they were riced to shit and no way to become stock again
5:52 i can tell a good thing about this game. The map. That representation of LA was one of the best maps for explore um PS2 era
You're right! I thought the map was really well made, but the design for the races are abysmal lol
Ohhh that's interesting! I don't have any way to confirm that but it could be!
So, if Fast and Furious had Gran Turismo in the background, would this be the kind of thing in the background of "Quick and Rambunctious"?
That actually makes a lot of sense.
I don’t know what any of you are talking about I played this game when I was a kid and recently replayed through the whole thing and finished it in 2 days with little struggle I love this game
This game was great at the time, like a PS2 era Midnight Club LA. TD Overdrive was great too tbf.
Which I would just go back to play Burnout 3 and Revenge for that.
hahah I feel your pain on that one
I love this game. Have such fond memories with it. I still have my copy on OG Xbox. Gonna have to replay it.
It plays so much better on the Xbox then PS2 ... I remember that being the case.
haha good luck!
@@BlooTeg Cheers
Thanks for sharing! Love your videos
thank you for watching!
I miss this game
Fun fact if you unplugged your controller in the car market menu it would unlock all the cars
That is... weird to say the least hahaha
@@BlooTeg Yea it’s pretty wild haha.
Well this game was part of Midway's San Francisco Rush series (Extreme Racing, 2 USA, and 2049)
But it doesn't look similar to other games in this series, also made by Midway.
by "doesn't look similar" I mean't that L.A. Rush is too unrelated to the previous official Rush games.
Amazing keep it up and you will be BOOMING..trust me🏅✊
Thank you so much! haha
I liked it when I was little now it’s like a game that Drake and josh would’ve played Like that game where they played in the show Where they drive-through garage stalls
DUDE EXACTLY!
Love your content keep the good work and please don't change ur style, ppl love it cuz it's built around simplicity and honest work. Anyways when are we getting a new twisted metal video and maybe just maybe resident evil?
monday! and I'm not sure about resident evil, I'd like to play it again but I've played it not long ago and it was still great lol
maybe some resident evil nobody talks about?
Love the mascot!
I think it's about time you talk about the Bomba Patch games (Winning Eleven/PES mods)
Love your videos😍
I kinda wish this wasn't the last game in the rush series. It was still fun though. I kinda dropped this rush game and moved on to Ridge Racer 2004 due to the confusing sense of direction, and now I'm stuck and don't know where to progress from.
don't worry, trust jesus and you'll find the only path
@@BlooTeg yes
It would be interesting to hear your thoughts about this slightly older game called "Chess". If it happened to jog any Weird Nostalgia vibes on you.
I'm honestly way too dumb for chess, takes brainpower I don't have :(
The enemies totaled a significant portion of R34 GT-Rs in existence just to get a Chrysler Magnum back
worth it.
I really like your videos frl you are fire and funny
thank you! really glad you do!
Mom can we buy NFS.? - We have NFS at home... L.A Rush: NFS at Home
After this video could you do twisted metal 2012 I think it’s a good game but some people think it’s bad I just wanna see your thoughts on it
I don't own a ps3, but I'll try, I'm working my way up on the Twisted Metal games haha
Have you played Juiced 2 by any chance?
I remember having it as a kid but never played it, definitely gonna make a video on it!
Really impressive graphics for ps2, looks like a ps3/360 game honestly. He is probably emulating, but the base graphics were really good for ps2
man I loved this game so much as a child even if I knew it was a broken mess. They dropped the ball with the "car customization" because damn some of the cars were hideous.
True! LOL
can you give radiant silvergun a try?
sure! I'll definitely check it out!
I actually love this game! Played it as kid and brought it back in 2015. I beat the game 100%. I like the car progression since the last. car has perfect stats and unlimited nitrous. Also you can look at the map which tells you where the next checkpoint in the race is going to be.
Sadly that doesn`t work haha
I actually thought the same because of midnight club but even on the minimap it only show the next checkpoint after you get the current one
But I can definitely see the nostalgia you got for it
@@BlooTeg I see what you mean. I guess you have to check the mini map after each checkpoint. I’m use to looking at maps from playing lots of Twisted Metal and Call of Duty.
give Racing Lagoon a try, it got translated to english just last year and its a hidden ps1 gem
will do! thank you!
So far my favorite moments from this video is the goon pileups 🤣 8:15 9:34
I could do a full hour compilation of just that hahah
Played was the PSP version of this
Hey bluetag im making a movie in this game
A movie? That's interesting, what do you mean?
Well im Still planning the Story for the movie
It Truly Racing game of all time
I'm got me a copy of this game on the way right now and I'm pretty excited about playing it I bought the Xbox version which luckily graphically its superior over the PS2 version!
Turns out that the console versions of the game are the hardest versoins. In the PC those acquire missions dont have rubberbanding like the ps2 does
Please review midtown madness 3
3 specifically? Or maybe work my way up there like Twisted Metal?
@@BlooTeg Up to you.
Also check out motor cross madness shitty game but would be fun to talk about
you forgot the best cheat for this game on PS2, the fast traffic cheat. Was watching Gamer Alex's video playing LA Rush and he mentioned the cheat and it was hilarious and you'd have ridiculous moments on it. Oh and also the PC port
My god, you're gonna be disappointed with it when you set up the game.
Fucking loved this game, it was so good
Yes and i´m currently thinking of playing it again soon.
I know SF rush is loved by a lot of people, so it was crazy to think this was part of the series haha
@@BlooTeg I think the one that was my favorite was called Rush 2049 or something like that. It was the one with retractable wings on all the cars.
I don't think I've ever played it, maybe when I was younger but I'll try it sometime and see if something comes back to mind haha
@@BlooTeg Oops, I thought this response was for my comment about stuntman for PS2... I assume you got that.
This is actually My shit back then. My father bought me this game and I can't stop playing it! It's good for me tho. The graphics are cheesy but the physics are good. 7/10
Finally another vid
every monday! (hopefully)
