Probably the creepiest region in all the game: an enormous family of inbred cannibalistic hillbillies, a howling werewolf, a house with a family literally quartered by a meteorite, ghosts whispering in the wood, the fog and the storms, a strangers misision in which you help a mad scientist to give life to his robot, etc.
Mutant manbearpig, murfrees, bears, cougars, poisoned water, devil cursed woods, devil pentagram, ghost forest, butcher creek, outlaw town van horn, the depressing mining town annesburg, crazy werewolf man, wolves, meteor forest, and creepy music
Not just my favourite place on the Rdr 2 map but possibly in any openworld game ever. That feeling of those forests having been there for thousands of years, knowing more than you or anyone else camping in them is so beautiful and eery. The whistling, leaves blowing in the wind.. I love it so much. I still remember hunting near the trapper on my first playthrough and coming across dreamcatchers on a tree, cooking the game i shot and coming across the murfrees dumping bodies in the river, riding at night and hearing this music. Ill never forget
came to roanoke ridge high as a kite and tripped absolute balls when i found the meteorite with all the trees at a different angle to the rest of the forest
I remember the first time hearing it while playing it I thought I had crossed into Native American territory or something , almost felt as if I was being watched by them
This is my absolute favorite part of the map. The scenery is so beautiful to me, the rolling hills and winding roads, valleys and tall trees and the way the sun peers through them, the music, creepy vibe. I know it's based on West Virginia and it really makes me wanna travel there when I get a chance.
I thought it was based off of Arkansas seeing as it is just north of lemoyne which is based off of Louisiana. That’s how it is in real life Arkansas is north of Louisiana. Also Arkansas looks pretty similar to Roanoke as well. Just my opinion.

Really wished this theme was a real soundtrack. I mean the whistling makes it creepy, but that’s why I spend most of the time in Roanoke Ridge. Just to listen to that track.
Not only that but most of the random events in the area makes it even more mysterious. Especially the voices gamers hear. Speaking of that, you have any idea where and when those voices appear in Roanoke Ridge.
Polar Bear Near water between Elysian Pond and Annesburg? Great. I like to get spooked by voices of Roanoke Ridge than heading back to the previous gang camps.

*SPOILER* This song reminds me of the last days of the Van der Linde gang in Beaver Hollow (Chapter 6). Pure loneliness... Most of the gang members ran away, only a few remain, everything is getting worse, the end is near, Arthur is sick, Micah the Rat brings his nasty friends to camp, Dutch becomes truly a villain, he sells out his best friends/sons (Arthur and John) for his greed, for Micah, for money, for evil. Depressing, dark, gloomy, lonely, despair...
Dont get why everyone says it's creepy or scary. It's haunting yes, but in a deep, depressing way. Arthur is dying, dutch has gone crazy, the gang is falling apart, and this music is like a somber reminder that everything is coming to an end

Like, I thought I could find the source of the scream, and stumble upon a Night Folk massacre. But nope. Just a guy screaming in the distance.

Micah was only a symptom of the gang coming apart, not the cause; he only started informing after Guarma when the morale of the group had been broken beyond repair. The gang had been slowly unraveling ever since the Blackwater mission went south, Micah was just the most despicable straw that happened to be the one to break the camel's back. Hating him is like hating a rat fleeing a sinking ship - if the ship wasn't sinking in the first place then he would never have fled it. And there definitely was no supernatural element to it. He was always a rat.
