I came out of the womb in 1953 listening to Elvis who was my 12 year old brother’s idol. For me, there will never be anyone as beautiful and talented as Elvis. When I hear him now, it makes me smile and cry at the same time.

FANTASTIQUE...... Mais quelle époque pour moi on fera jamais mieux que les années 50, 60 voir meme 70s...ELVIS THE KING FOREVER et de toutes les époques.🤙
I was playing this song at my table at a local flea market I set up at when an old timer walked up and told me a great story. He was a kid in the summer of 1954 and he told me how he remembered the first time he heard this song on the radio and how it took the world by storm. I didn't know it was his first hit and I never knew the impact it had on his generation. You can read about how this song changed the world but until you hear about it from somebody that was alive during that time you will never fully understand.
Energy heard here can just never be replicated, it was lightning in a bottle in that first year. No script, no playbook, just sheer ingenuity and Mr Phillips was it's architect.
The song that started it all.. crazy how he was only 19 years old when he walked on that stage, he was polite and quiet until he started singing and dancing. Then it started opening doors for his career after that.
My mother knew him since she was 8. Then both families moved to Tupelo same year. She grew up knowing him. She was at Sun records when he recorded this. His manager gave it to her and told her to keep flipping it at the Cotton Carnival Fair in June 1954 when she was a festival princess at the information booth. Elvis stopped by periodically to ask her, “Betty Ann, did anybody ask about the music? Did anybody ask about me?” She told him yes someone stopped by and said, who is that singer? Etc. That was the first time Elvis‘s music was ever played for the public. It was released the next month on the radio. Even after he was famous she saw him in California. He was a good boy, as they say in the south.
Hakeem Muhammad you do know he took lines from another recording made before him right crudup did so before you start that elvis is a theif crap it had already been stolen so in my view elvis had every right to record it
@@rosaworksrosaworks9410 : He stole nothing. Covers were the rule then. Cat McNichol Elvis is something special that God put in this world, I think with great purpose. He was definitely different from other people in the world. God gave all of us a great gift to have him. There will NEVER be another entertainer, in anyones lifetime who can take Elvis place. That includes the past, present, or future. Elvis Presley was born something special. I can't say enough, but anyone who knows anything about Elvis knows what I'm talking about.
Oh dude, you’re embarrassing yourself with that comment. The results are in already. The debate is over. This wasn’t just some guy singing that went nowhere. He became one of the biggest stars ever…and this song launched that career. Is it possible you just figured out that your judgement is kind of bad? Lol.

Actually, it began at Sun Records.

Elvis NEVER claimed to be a "king" of anything nor did he claim to be the "first" at singing rock and roll music
