Elvis was called (forgive me) a “n” lover and was hung and burned in effigy because he did, indeed, spend a great deal of time in the black community and cherished it.

Elvis Presley's voice was just beautiful. You can hear what they called Negro rhythms music influence in his sound and style. When God made Elvis Presley he was showing off. ❤
When Elvis Presley hit planet Earth like a comet....and changed the world forever 💯⚡❤
He was gifted with a beautiful voice!
Anyone know how hard it is to sing and play at the same time?
Elvis was no mean guitarist, and that voice?
A gift to the world from the Lord above.
WOW!! Elvis, Scotty and Bill in 1954. This is absolutely priceless!!!
Did Elvis ever stay in touch with Scotty and Bill?
@@coopthescoop100 No. After 1958 they left him due to payment. Bill Black died in 1964. However, Scotty was able to join Elvis for his '68 comeback special. Which I believe was the only time they met again.
@@JohnnyCashMediaCenter Due to payment....you mean they were owed money by Elvis....no!!!
@@coopthescoop100 No, it was solely with the payment issue.
@@JohnnyCashMediaCenter tbf the Colonel wanted them gone anyways, so that's mostly on him
Dad and Mom were there and did they didn’t know what to think about him as never seen anything like it.
How lucky you are to have parents who saw Elvis the first time he appeared on Louisiana Hayride!

Brilliant bit of history for you. 👍
I'd give anything to have witness this moment in time 🤯❤️
No wonder why people fall in love with 19 years old singer...me too❤️🎼❤️
that is the presley people should listen to he is so raw and sounds brilliant and as it is live he is owning that audience .
Elvis is Elvis. The best ever.
Incredible moment in time, the reaction is immediate
This is an incredible recording. WOW
Wow this is almost 70 years old!! And Elvis has been dead longer than he was alive.... Yet he lives on through his music... His voice - the passion, joy, emotion - is timeless..
Rest in peace Elvis Presley I have recently became 1 of your biggest fans after watching your movie I was once told that you were racist but after watching your movie it changed my whole perspective of you and I wish I could find the old hag that told me that you are the real true king of rock and roll my you continue to rest well
I’m so glad that the movie has been able to change some minds on his being a racist. I recently went down the Elvis rabbit hole after seeing the movie and it was clear from what I found that not only did he have much love and respect for the black community, back then the black community cared for him as well. Elvis was called (forgive me) a “n” lover and was hung and burned in effigy because he did, indeed, spend a great deal of time in the black community and cherished it.
@@samhugh4965yes sadly you have haters and they still want to bring him down. Jealousy is wild.
a star is born . Mama’s Gladys pride is going to become the King of stars ✨👑🌟✨
Here is a man who in 1954 is on the cusp of greatness.
At age 3 1/2 at the Louisiana Hay Ride is the first time I ever saw my favorite singer, actor, comedian, and man, and I still can't get enough of this man. Thanks for sharing him with me and the world.
At age 3 11/12, I stayed home at our house in Shreveport while my parents, regulars at the Hayride, went to see this performance.
Are you a warts n all fan or do you turn away when someone brings up something that puts the man in a different light?
@@markjames8603 like what? He was a great person other than drug addiction. If your a political person, specifically left I’m sure you can come up with a lot of negatives because that’s all the left and in fact the right can puke up. Was he perfect? No but he was a good person and a awesome singer. Go hug Biden or Trump whichever you cry about more.
@@ltme4134 Hahaha you can't get me there cos I'm in the UK, but I have played in 50's bands and have backed some Sun records artists too and my friends have also done the same thing too, I like the warts and all folklore of the artists and in Elvis's case only humanise him, Sun artist Sonny Burgess said that the 1st time he met Elvis he was selling his mum's diet pills outside Sun Studios and that's possibly how he was able to have good clothes before his star was breaking, Barbara Pittman was quoted as saying that most Sun records were fuelled by Bop pills and Thunderbird wine, the amphetamine aspect is interesting cos if you were poor and holding down 2 jobs back then you could ask your pharmacist for something to get you through, Sonny also said that Sam Phillips knew his studio couldn't capture the entirety of Elvis's vocal range as much as he tried
That's a shame. Jesus Christos should be your number 1 Man
Zu dieser Zeit musste man wirklich Singen können (keine Technik)wo man dran drehen konnte. ELVIS beherrschte das wie kein anderer❤ Die Stimme ist einfach perfekt und deshalb lieben wir ihn so sehr❤
19 years old..... the world was about to be his. The calm before the storm.
This is history, we could barely even hear the girls screaming in the video but they were screaming and I mean SCREAMING. Rest in peace king🤍 he made people happy and music was real and beautiful
Rip my grandma saw him
This is a really historic recording. Elvis said: "We just stumbled upon it" in regards to his new style!
His vocals carried everything. What a gift
Early rumblings of the greatest Entertainer who ever has or ever will live. Big E.
You best know it.
The greatest singer who ever lived or ever will live in my opinion is Johnny Cash.
Kenny Dobbins No offense, but that's your singular opinion. Don't get me wrong....Cash was good, but he isn't even in the top 5 in Country music....let alone all genres. #1 Country Entertainer ever is Bocephus followed by Conway Twitty, Waylon, George Jones and Travis Tritt. But Cash was indeed good.
Dennis Mayberry My top 5 in music are Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, Carl Perkins and Bill Haley. My top 5 Country artists are Johnny Cash (but he was not just country), Conway Twitty, Charlie Rich, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. My top 5 Rock And Roll artists are the same as my top 5 of all time. My top Blues artists are B.B. King and Ray Charles. My top 5 Jazz artists are Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole. My top 5 Bluegrass artists are the Stanley Brothers, Flatt And Scruggs, Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt (solo) and Earl Scruggs (solo). Yes that is my opinion and no I am not offended.

This is so moving! It’s The first time that i listen this very first Elvis appearence at The Hayride. 19 years and he was THE KING already! Unbelieveable!
This is the real deal... unadulterated young man Presley doing his music like no other...
i'm 76 and you can hear Elvis at 19 with that southern voice when he speaks. at the 1968 concert his southern voice isn't as noticeable! what a great guy he was - miss him
How fortunate have we been to have this absolutely amazing beautiful man to still thrill and entertain us 67 years after this performance. Love Elvis.💖💃🕺🙋♀️🇦🇺🦘👏👏
This is Bonnie Foerster again from Salt Lake City Utah just made a comment but I'm re-watching this for the second time the photos are amazing I feel like I'm actually there back in 1957 I was 14 years old when this was made you're taking me back to my youth and now I will be 76 years young November 24th pictures I said are absolutely amazing I feel like I'm there I know I video I am feel like I am right there I am 14 years old again thank you thank you is not quite enough I absolutely love this thank you for keeping his Legacy alive not just for me but for the Young Generation I know him is Elvis Presley I wish everybody would know The Man Behind the Music the amazing man that walked upon this Earth for only 42 short years may he sleep well with the angels I love you Elvis thank you for the gift of your love to this world ❤💋💋🎶🥰
I'm glad the Elvis movie was made and brought the King to young people and reinspired all of his old fans again. I've watched it three times already!! I'll be looking for Austin to win the Oscar this year!!
My Father and my grandparents were in the audience.
I think if anything, I give Elvis credit for his bravery! For being himself in a world of hatred. Elvis"s ultimate goal was to give his mom and dad a better life and that he did. Every now and then God will show us a touch of a miracle. Elvis was that touch. R.I.P MY MAN!!!
Amazing. First time I have ever heard that legendary performance. It's very obvious why he became such a meteoric star. Original style, great voice, and charismatic beyond belief.
as much as i am loving elvis’ music i have to give props to his band too they absolutely killed it
He thought we'd forget him😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
My daddy's band was there! Daddy always said that Elvis was one of the nicest people he'd ever met.
“At that moment, I watched that skinny boy transform, into a superhero.”
- Colonel Tom Parker (Elvis)
The new movie coming out this month is going to make Butler a superstar!!!
Do you know Colonel Tom Parker was a deep alias ? I checked out a book a while back and it was called the colonel. I'm not going to give too much away but it's worth a read or if you want to listen it's also on audio. He left his home land in Europe under weird circumstances.
He was no superhero
@@bradmarkell12167 He was a super hero and he is the King! Long live the King!
@@choice12ozborne I read something about that awhile back and now I can't remember what it was he did. I think he murdered someone and rape might have been involved. You should know if you read the book. I haven't. I read something a year or two ago and will have to try and remember but Parker had to get the hell out of Holland.
19 year old Elvis.....and everything was right in the Universe.

What a great time It was to be alive back then.Thank you for that awesome review!
Since the release of Baz Luhrmann film I'm spending time revisiting a genre of music and musician I've loved since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. The images of a young man at the beginning of a road to stardom are brilliant and the quality of recording is superb.
He was incredible, even at just 19 years of age!
Found my way to this while reading "Last train to Memphis" can't believe how good the audio is for this.
Same 😮😮

The legend begins. I have a great book about Elvis on the hayride. Would love to visit this place.
Love seeing and hearing Elvis from his early start of his phenomenal career.
October 16 is my birthday, I was 6 years old when Elvis performed at the Louisiana Hayride. I have loved his music for as long as I can remember.
Before Elvis music was drab this lad from tupelo shook the world this won't be repeated by anyone not ever
Elvis Presley changed music the first time he took the stage. And it kept getting better.
Absolutely beautiful hearing this performance of “That’s Alright Mama” 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 and “Blue Moon” amazing…never heard him sing this before..beautiful!!!!!!!!
I was born in 1954 and have been listening to Elvis for as long as I can remember which I have put at about 1959.Of course I did not catch up with a lot of his classics till I was a bit older. This sounds brilliant for its age.Such a shame there is no film available.
