I like all of the 92 models. However, I bought the PX4 Storm Compact Carry LTT, a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it. It's clear why Beretta has been successful in selling firearms for 500 years.
Barreta M9A4 I forgot to mention the Double action trigger is softer, and the reset on SA shorter. But if you drop in the short reset and straight trigger on the 226 it’s a game changer. Not even close. But out the box yes the Barreta is easier to shoot, but to me ergos better on the Sig.
SIG Sauer MK 25 is one beautiful classy pistol. 20 round magazine........really is nice accessory. I have carried the Beretta while outdoors fishing. My husband also carries a Beretta while fishing. You really can't go wrong. Beretta is a fantastic firearms manufacturer. SIG classic pistols are fantastic as well. Great video......
No problem. Thank you again for sharing your videos. Both are fantastic pistols. Unfortunately Sig Sauer is now manufactured in the USA. The quality maybe the same as when manufactured in Europe. My husband and I have Sig Sauer classic pistols, we don't have any of the polymer pistols made by Sig Sauer. That Beretta is a classy pistol. God bless 🙏
The beretta 92, P226, and cz 75 are amazing guns that are very similar in quality. However, the cz 75 fits my hand slightly better than the sig or beretta. My second is the sig.
I've got the P226 in .40S&W and the Beretta 92S (military surplus/European version with the mag release at the bottom of the grip). The ONLY thing I didn't like about the Beretta was the original stocks. For my short, fat fingers, they were a challenge. I changed the stocks out for thinner ones and that helped, but I go back to my Sig for more comfortable shooting. They're both great pistols.
Really surprised to hear that you liked the Beretta as a lefty. I’ve wanted both of these for years but purchased the 226 first due to the fact that it felt molded to my hand. Finally got to shoot the 92FS and was disappointed. I train not to use the slide lock to chamber rounds as a lefty and racking the slide with the bulky safety felt super awkward. I also couldn’t find a happy spot for my support thumb. I was either right on top of the takedown pin or catching it on the trigger bar. It’s a beautiful firearm but I didn’t find it to be remotely ambidextrous. The 226 is flawless and shoots like a laser beam for me though. Thousands of rounds and, the more I shoot it, the more I love it.
Left handers for ever!!! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!! I also love the P226 the most. Actually as far as Beretta's go, I"ve become a much bigger fan of their PX4 series.... seriously surprised how much I love to shoot them!! Still have that slide mounted safety but they are flat shooting with a trigger from the heavens (especially after I sent to Langdon Technologies )
Great video and thanks for the response. I too am a fan of the PX4 and it’s on my list of guns to buy. Unfortunately this list is not as big as I would like as I live in one of those states that treat freedom like a privilege. I do like Beretta in general and will still add the 92 to the collection someday just for nostalgia. Keep doing your thing though brother. Nice to get a left handed pov.
P226 here. Lots of respect for the 92. Tried a 92 at the shop. I like the Sig de-cock better because I am very familiar with it. I'm sure I could get used to the 92 de-cock. I did not like that the safety was engaged after de-cocking. It's something else to remember if under stress.
I have both the P226 MK25 and the 92X Preformance Langdon Tactical. I am a Sig guy, but between my two guns Beretta edges out the P226 because of the trigger.
Throw on the Short reset mod on the 226, and that gun turns into a race horse. I own both, but I agree the 226 is more natural ergonomics. Racking slide in obstructed is nice on fingers. Now I will say I ran my Barreta surpressed ran flawless. Waiting on thread adapter for the 226. Both solid but slight winner to sig. now I will say for those who have tight grip with thumbs over stacked. I find that you can cause malfunctions due to your thumb depressing the decocker as you pull trigger. Especially if you’re wearing gloves, a nice fix is the low profile decocker like the legions comes with. That can be problematic.
The sig controls have some benefits but at same time the slide like is very easy to accidentally ride it and not lock last round open or even worst lock if pushed up while shooting lock the slide open even the mag isn’t empty . The beretta slide stop release is superior . The decocker of both is a matter of preference
I'm looking to buy my first full sized pistol and I did not know that beretta has that moving mechanism on that right side...I dont think I like that :/
Honestly, I would have to say the beretta given the steep price of the SIG P226 these days. I have carried both guns and while I do say, that the P226 is a fantastic firearm, I just don't think its better than the beretta. I got a few points I look at. Performance: I feel like both guns perform neck and neck with each other. Both of them utilize de-cockers and DA/SA triggers that wear in quite nicely. When I did my draws to first shot drills, both of these firearms make me feel very comfortable with my abilities. Because they both have excellent recoil impulses and excellent accuracy along side with a very passable SA trigger (after the first shot breaks and recycles). I never had an issue with either of them with any kind of ammo. They both eject empty magazines just like you would want them to. The main things I think the beretta has over the P226 is 1. Cost. The cost of a beretta 92 ranges. Anywhere from the mid 600's to around 1500 bucks for the top notch ones. But you can get a perfectly good beretta 92 compact for probably around 700 bucks maybe a tad more or less. Considering the P226 is WELL above 1000 dollars JUST for the base gun is kind of... absurd. The one I bought new a few years back only cost me like 600-700 bucks idk how they went up so high (maybe SIGS head got a little bigger now that it has a military contract and they just FEEL that warrants the price..) SIG is a brand I do trust, but still recognize as, they have been going downhill very slowly. They aren't the same as back in the day. Their kind of like Colt in that aspect. Nd for 600-700 bucks the P226 is a GREAT gun. BUT for 1400-1500 bucks you can suck a cold cock in hell. For those prices you can buy a very nicely made 1911. Nd it'll hold its value better. We aren't talking 1400-1500 bucks for a all out edition with a super nice trigger and all this fancy shit. No were talking just to get a basic ass P226. 2. Easier to carry concealed IMO. The P226 is a chunky girl. She's thicker than Haagen-Dazs. Its not the easiest gun to conceal comfortably. The beretta compact feels alot more comfortable for a CCW gun. The grip on the 92 is pretty thick but the slide is pretty sleek compared to the P226. Which is basically just built like a brick with a hammer on the back of it. 3. Style. The Beretta is just a sexier gun. Its a piece of actual art. All that milling and those curves a good 92 is like a fine woman. The Italians really put their soul into the aesthetic of this gun. Not to mention the pluses it has to functionality and reliability the open slide design has. I dare say the P226 Might have a cunt hairs edge on the 92's on reliability but I never noticed a failure from any of the 4 92's I have been blessed to own and play with. I do think if you torture tested these guns with sand or mud the P226 would outlast the 92. However the chances of you ever having a dirty enough gun to produce these issues is very very very low if not zero. Unless you plan on shooting in a sand storm or some shit. The 92 looks sexy no matter the weather lol. The P226 really just isnt that attractive aside from its legend in the seals and such silly stuff. Who btw, is in the process of replacing the P226 for Glock 19 lol. Another 600-700 dollar gun
Both are great guns. However, if I were in the market for one of these guns considering the difference in price between the two I would have to go with Beretta. The Sig does not bring that kind of performance or quality to the table to justify the higher price.
I have an unmodified 2008 P226, a current model P229 Legion, and a Beretta 92X Centurion with lots of Langdon Tactical upgrades. For range shooting, the 92X is a bit better than my Sigs. For carry, I much prefer my P229 Legion, with my good old P226 coming in a very close second place. I don't know what it is about the P226 and the P229, but they just do it for me.
The Beretta is perhaps the most accurate : its barrel moves backwards in a straight line. But it’s not made for small hands (personal case). Beretta’s trigger is very long, single or double action (heavy). On this other hand, SiG’s trigger is short and crisp in single action, very smooth in double. SiG P.226 : the best DA/SA !
Sure doesn't look like a model 92FS. I have one. Mine has the squared-front trigger guard (not rounded like the one you show). It also doesn't have an accessory rail like the one you show. Mine is exactly like the model 92FS on Beretta's website. Which model of the 92 are you comparing to the Sig?
Good eye and good question. To your point I check out Beretta's website and there is not a current model that has that same trigger guard. The 92 was a loaner from a friend of the channel and it was labeled a 92fs. I know they have numerous variations of the 92 and I know he has had his gun for a long time - so maybe just an older version. Awesome job catching that - and thanks for watching!!
@@TheArkansasGunGuyWhen I first qualified in the Navy, they were still using the 1911 A1. They transitioned to the Model 92FS after I'd been in about 6 or 7 years. (I don't remember it being referred to as the M9 at the time. The Marines who instructed us called it the 92FS and the weapons were all marked "92FS".) At that time, the closest thing to the "FS" that you could purchase on the civilian market (if I remember correctly, because I bought one for a personal weapon) was the model 92S. The "S" had a rounded trigger guard like the one you display, but no accessory rail. I do know that the most recent "M9" model sports a rail, so perhaps they're putting out an updated 92FS with those mods. I just thought it peculiar as I've never seen a 92 in that configuration. I'm fairly certain the rail is something new. Didn't need 'em in my day. (Still don't!) Great video however, and I agree with your conclusions about these guns.
I haven’t shot an sig p226 I really want to. (I have shot the p365 and the sp2022) but I love my 92fs (I put even fatter grips on mine because I have way too big hands) and my px4
Both are world standards . Keep them clean and lubed and they shoot better than most other designs . Stock triggers were designed with heavier triggers from heavy hammer springs to ensure primer ignition with hard primers . The issue wasn’t beretta fault beretta sued and won . The seals used proof load ammo in testing continuously and that’s what causes the slide damage not the design . No gun can shoot proof loads at the range continuously. Sigs controls seem nicer while looking at it but while shooting sig controls are very easy to accidentally lock slide or decock it accidentally due to location . Beretta seems odd with safety decock on top but while actually shooting your thumbs won’t touch the safety at all due to it being on slide . Both are best da sa metal guns ever made . Other problem with sig is generations too many changes . All German , all German American assembly, half German half American , internal extractor the small external then large external . The beretta is the more reliable with feeding it’s direct feed straight in barrel doesn’t need to dip any ammo will feed . I would upgrade to a D spring to help lighten the 92 pull . These are war pistols that stood the test of time and use same mags just dif height of mag release cut . You can buy one and add cut for the other and you got multi 92 226 mags .
Good video, well I do have a 92x RDO compact that I traded my Sig P320xf for, (I regretted later) but I never had a p226. I must say that I am a bit more accurate with the Beretta, however I ended up purchasing a new Sig P320 X-Ten two months after my trade, because I missed my Sig so much,.. the Sig is now my "nightstand" gun, the Beretta is my main CCW and a Sig P938 Legion is my summer/backup CCW.
Ugh man I couldn't tell ya. They are the smoothest shooting guns I own. I think overall I like the [P229] more but the 92FS shoots a little smoother. I've never shot a P226 I don't think. I like the decocker position more on the Sig.
The 92 is sexier , more svelte, longer sight radius, smoother action, and with the g decocker version way better imo , at around half the price of the sig. Its a no brainer.
The reason you saw issues with the M9 is the cheap mags Uncle Sam decided to buy and the fact that they wouldn't let Beretta upgrade them once improvements were made because of the military contract. I own 3 Berettas and they have been the most reliable, safest to operate, and most accurate of anything I have carried. The 226 is a great gun too, the only time I had one struggle is when it got mud in it. I've carried Berettas for over 20 years and I prefer them, and I have smaller hands. That being said, if a 226 found its way into my hands in a combat situation, I would have no doubts that it would serve me well. They're both excellent handguns, it just comes down to personal preference
I only own the 92x so I can’t really compare it to the sig. I will say though the beretta is a nice pistol the new grip angle makes it a much more comfortable gun and I have pretty average size hands I guess. I have the decocker only version so it’s much more comparable to the 226 in that regards.I have handled a sp2022 so I have handled the sig decocker and it’s nice maybe nicer then the beretta but I can reach the berettas no problem so it’s a training issue at that point they both work. The action is very smooth and it’s a very pleasant gun to shoot accurate also just as the sig is I’m sure. What to me is the deal breaker is the price the sig is a decent amount more money from what I have seen locally anyways.so it’s beretta all the way in my book the sig even if it has the edge in a few departments it’s not that big of a difference to justify the cost. I’m content with the 92 series. I’ll admit I like the look of the sig more. That’s just a taste thing.
Fellow southpaw here and born a Razorback. I EDC’d a 92FS for about a decade and now have a 92x. I have had a Sig P226 Legion for three years. I shoot the 226 slightly better than the Beretta. As a lefty the Sig’s decocker is easier to use; I push it down with my trigger finger. The 92 decocker and my right thumb do not always get along. The swipe up to off safe the pistol is easy; the push down to decock can be a bit challenging. Really can’t go wrong with either. Still, I prefer the Beretta. I like having a safety and for a 92, the world is your ejection port. Plus the 92s are much cheaper and far sexier.
Fantastic video, both are great pistols. Beretta is a beautiful classy pistol. The Sig Sauer classic is also beautiful....... I've carried the Sig Sauer classic pistol for years. It's a well engineered pistol...... I, guess it would be SIG Sauer classic that I put inside my handbag 🧐 God bless 🙏
I have both of those same models. P226 MK25 and Beretta 92A1 which is my night stand gun right now. On the Sig all I've done to it was install the SRT trigger and it is super short reset now, along with some Hogue G10 grips that look nearly the same as the ones they make for factory Sig pistols like the 226 Extreme. On the Beretta I've dumped all the plastic parts and converted the safety to the "G" model decocker. Changed some springs, added the Elite hammer and some G10 grips. The Sig trigger is better. But, I also have a Beretta 92X Centurion which is cut for an optic and has factory decocker. The stock trigger in it is as good as the Sig if not a little better, maybe as good as the 92X Performance. It would be a tough choice to decide between the two. If it were a SHTF situation and I knew I had to run with what I have I'd probably pick the Beretta because I have a lot of parts and magazines, not because of pistol quality and performance which run neck and neck. You should do a 3 pistol comparison adding a CZ75.
I purchased my SIG Sauer P226 MK25, used, in 2015, for $730. It already had the upgraded SRT kit installed, and came with three 15-round 9mm Luger magazines. About a couple of years ago, the original OEM factory stock steel SIGLite tritium night sights started to fade, so I replaced them with Trijicon HD steel tritium night sights, they have a bit higher profile than the OEM SIGLite sights had, and the Trijicon rear sight is "U-notched." Just this month (May2024), I installed a Grayguns, Inc. 2-Way Adjustable Straight Trigger, which takes this pistol up another notch. I love my P226 MK25. Of all the 9mm Luger pistols I've ever fired, much less owned, this pistol is my favorite, and in my hands, the most accurate. To date, I've run about 5,000 rounds through it with perfectly flawless functionality. Before I ever considered buying my SS P226 MK25, I rented a few different brands of 9mm Luger pistols from Beretta, Springfield Armory, H&K, Walther, SIG Sauer (I already owned four Glock 9mm Luger pistols). Specifically, I rented a Beretta 92FS three times, at two diffrent indoor shooting ranges, putting a total of 300 rounds of 9mm Luger 115 Gr FMJ standard pressure range ammo through them. I experienced 7 FTF malfunction: 5 out of 100 rounds during my first rental; 1 out of 100 rounds during each of my second and third rentals. None of my four Glock 9mm Luger pistols ever malfunctioned, neither did any of the other brands of 9mm Luger pistols that I rented. Needless to say, I found the Beretta 92FS apparent poor reliability to be very disappointing, enough to drop it from any further consideration. In terms of accuracy shooting off-hand, at 25 yards, I found the Beretta 92FS to be no more accurate than my Gen3 Glock 17. Compared to my SS P226 MK25, I preferred the longer barrel and "sexier" looks of the Beretta 92FS, but that was all. Compared to my P226, I disliked the Beretta's slide-mounted safety. My aging eyes found it slower / harder to pick up the Beretta's sights, and changing out the front sight was not an option. I didn't like the Beretta's longer DA trigger pull and longer trigger reset. Good things! 👍
I own a 92X performance but i can't say anything good about beretta's barrels, i feel like they use .357 barrels rather than 9mm barrels because it shoots PC cast lead quite well but with factory ammo my glock 17 gen 5 outshoots it any day of the week despite the latter having.... (well it's a glock, do i really need to elaborate?) which is just not acceptable for a gun that costs multiple times what the glock did and is meant for competition (certainly won't win any bullseye matches that's for sure)
SIG and it's not even close. The controls are natural, the trigger pull is smoother and, the ergos are great. The Beretta in comparison is awkward in every way. It's accurate. But, the SIG is better
@@flake3299 I used the Beretta 92 in the army AKA the M9. It was awkward and my hands are not small. It may be right for you. But, it was all wrong for me.
@@MegaSolidninja my hands are large. But, the safety is in the wrong place, the trigger is a touch too long and rough for my liking. I used a Beretta 92 aka M9 in the army. It just didn't feel right. The SIG does feel right
Get em both. They're both awesome!
I like all of the 92 models. However, I bought the PX4 Storm Compact Carry LTT, a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it. It's clear why Beretta has been successful in selling firearms for 500 years.

Funny how there were in the tests in the 80s, we’re 40 years on and they’re still better than what the military is using today
And you are right, my Beretta shoots amazing. So easy to shoot accurately due to its weight and length. Like night and day compared to my P365
All metal firearms that can shoot in single action are going to shoot better than a polymer striker fired.
I carried the M9 in the Air Force, and it is 100% reliable. If I had to choose a handgun in a combat situation, I'm taking the Beretta.
The beretta 92, P226, and cz 75 are amazing guns that are very similar in quality. However, the cz 75 fits my hand slightly better than the sig or beretta. My second is the sig.

SiG P.226 : the best DA/SA !
The Beretta anytime it's the one i carried in the marines and i bought one last year on june just could'nt leave it out of my collection.
Own them both beretta 92A1 with threaded barrel and 17rd mags and Sig 226 legion. Both great pistols i like the 226 grey guns srt better.
Two amazing models! I have a M9A3 but not the Sig …YET
Get the 226. (.40/.357 sig barrels) You will NOT regret it.
I haven’t shot an sig p226 I really want to. (I have shot the p365 and the sp2022) but I love my 92fs (I put even fatter grips on mine because I have way too big hands) and my px4
Classic rivalry!!
Thank you for watching!!
These are both very proven guns it would come down to preference and what feels best in your hand.
agree. that's the absolute best thing to do! appreciate you stopping by my channel!!!
92 is a great gun but I kept the Sig
Sig holds a special place for me!! Thanks for watching!!!
You kept the right one
..what kind of light is that on the p226..? thanks..
It’s an Sig branded laser from Lima.

Personally own The Sig Sauer p226 scorpion elite love the SRT Trigger.
They are both probably the 2 best 9mm handguns ever produced . In terms of reliability about equal . Still like the 92 the best !
As much as I’d love to say the Mk25, honestly any serious person should own both. They are both in fact legends.
One good video for two good guns :)
I agree about the Sig de-cocker!! it's almost iconic!! glad to hear I"m not the only one. Than you so much for watching!!
The 92 is sexier , more svelte, longer sight radius, smoother action, and with the g decocker version way better imo , at around half the price of the sig. Its a no brainer.
I carried my Sig P226 gen 1 for 14 years in the Marines and it never once had a single issue. The M9 on the other hand I have witness many failures..
Beretta is a fixed barrel designed like the German P-38 .
That reminds me - I need a P-38!!!! Thanks so much for watching!!
Sig hands down.
Love Sig! Thanks so much for watching!!
Beretta is the oldest pistol brand?
believe so - by a lot.... like hundreds of years old they claim!! thanks for watching!!
I, guess it would be SIG Sauer classic that I put inside my handbag 🧐
God bless 🙏
I have always been a Beretta 92 guy.
I prefer my Taurus PT92 better because of the frame mounted safety .
Is this even a discussion? One of them is a fantastic pistol, and the other is a Sig.
Well said
My m9a1 beretta over 4000 rounds always fire.
P-226👍
Both great guns, but I like ice cream better
All three great choices!
I purchased my SIG Sauer P226 MK25, used, in 2015, for $730.
It already had the upgraded SRT kit installed, and came with three 15-round 9mm Luger magazines.
About a couple of years ago, the original OEM factory stock steel SIGLite tritium night sights started to fade, so I replaced them with Trijicon HD steel tritium night sights, they have a bit higher profile than the OEM SIGLite sights had, and the Trijicon rear sight is "U-notched."
Just this month (May2024), I installed a Grayguns, Inc.
Fantastic recap!! Thank you so much for sharing (and watching!!)
P226 without question.
im old school. i will go with my beretta 92fs.
226!!
Beretta all day
Out of the box i will take the Sig, with an action tune I will take the Beretta.
cant hardly mention the mechanics of the 92 without referencing the p38.
bareta 92fs
Classic tools. 😊
Sig P226!
Baretta
Beretta
S&W M13 is better
92 fs not even close
I shot the 226 and it was garbage.
SIG and it's not even close. The controls are natural, the trigger pull is smoother and, the ergos are great. The Beretta in comparison is awkward in every way. It's accurate. But, the SIG is better
You're crazy the Beretta is better literally in every way
@@flake3299 I used the Beretta 92 in the army AKA the M9. It was awkward and my hands are not small. It may be right for you. But, it was all wrong for me.
You just have small hands
@@MegaSolidninja my hands are large. But, the safety is in the wrong place, the trigger is a touch too long and rough for my liking. I used a Beretta 92 aka M9 in the army. It just didn't feel right. The SIG does feel right
@@charlesshankle3178 were you in the American army? I used a USP in the Irish army
Sigs overpriced and have that nasty high bore.
Beretta is just as high.
