"A boy scout should know better." "AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!" "There's no curse in Elvish, Entish, or the tongues of Man for this stupidity." said Treebeard. Calmly.
The cover they gave for it sounds so dumb, too. Sounds like they just had some punk kids in their troop who wanted to push over a rock, and the leaders just tried to cover it with the thinnest apology they could find. I've never heard of boy scouts doing something that insane to make nature "safer". Maybe put up warning signs or remove brush from neglected trails, but doing a hack-job excavation/demolition thing without even contacting anyone first? I don't buy it.
Every spring in Southern California, there is an area that blooms beautiful flowers. People love to go there each year to take pictures of them and take pictures of themselves among them. I am not sure if it is the local or some other government agency, has notices for people to stay on designated paths while they enjoy the scenery, but people always ignore it and go amidst the flowers to take selfies. Meanwhile, they trample the flowers. Some people truly do not care. Interesting on the two rock formation locations on your list that had people who supposedly wanted to help prevent others from getting injured by pushing over the rock formations, yet they recorded themselves gleefully doing it. They obviously did it just because they could, despite the warnings.
That's what is taught in the Scouts (as they are no longer BOY Scouts). As an Eagle Scout myself, hearing about that story of the Hoodoos really made me want to back-hand slap those former leaders.
Alternate Title: Top 10 Reasons why humanity is the worst thing to happen to Earth. Earth was a much better place before humanity came along and destroyed it. It's actions such as these that make me wish Godzilla and the lads and lasses existed so they can bring back natural order to the world.
I'm not against anything you said but i don't get why theres people who say "earth was so much better without humans" when you don't know what it was like to be on earth without humans
I always feel like the punishment for somebody killing a member of an endangered species is never enough... Because after all, the culprit usually belongs to one of the least endangered species.
Damn, this was a sad list...It does remind me of Mr. Smith's monologue about humanity in "The Matrix" - Man is a virus. Let's hope no omnipotent, omnicient, omnipresent entity with cataclysmic abilities has access to the internet...otherwise, they'd probably want mankind dead.
Nah, all they had to do is keep humanity isolated so we don't infect others. With such potent destructive nature, it doesn't take too long for us to destroy ourselves.
Remember that old cartoon where the bear and mountain lion wound up destroying the grand canyon and the park ranger was so furious he tossed them both shovels and told them to start digging? Hold these lunatics accountable and make them repair (or pay for) what they destroyed.

Born and raised in Death Valley. Even visited the racetrack for a school field trip. I just don’t understand how people can really live with themselves after doing these things.
More importantly why the state allows them live. These Amoebas demonstrate they're completely unfit to be a part of a progressing society and need putting down.
While visiting Yellowstone, we were driving around taking in the breathtaking views when we spotted/smelled a group of teens/young adults who had left the trail to sit on a fallen tree and smoke. They put out their cigarettes and left them smouldering on the freaking tree. I was so angry I fetched the cigarettes myself after dousing them with water and put them in a plastic bag fully intending to return them to their owners but I never saw them again. The best part? The area where they decided to leave the trail was at a sign detailing how years ago that very area had been ravaged by a forest fire and had been slowly recovering. 🤦
There is a rock formation in western Kansas called CASTLE ROCK - big chunk of rock jutting out of the ground and had spirals (think 5 if memory serves me correctly) sticking up skyward, was quite the site on the open prairies and well worth the 50 mile round-trip off of I-70. Got to Kansas in 1993 and had visited this unique location every year from 1993-to about early 2000s. Now I understand that wind, rain, snow, ice and other erosion will takes its toll, but one year I visited the site and there were TEENAGERS drinking at the site. Of course, they had various types of guns with them and were using CASTLE ROCK for target practice - one can only imagine how many times this site has been used for target practice. Over the years, due to the damage that this site has taken, the spirals have fallen to the ground and there really is not that much left to see - just a massive stub of rock protruding from the ground with nubbins indicating where the spirals once were. I still visit this site, but now it is more out of curiosity as to what it looks like than a geological wonder.

This is when I like to quote Einstein "There are only two infinite things, the universe, and human stupidity. Even then I am not still sure about the universe".
Happening on this video, I was shocked and upset by the unnecessary and unprovoked destruction of beautiful natural things by people. For no reason other than their personal maladjustment to life they take it upon themselves to display a deep seated, sick hatred of natural beauty. And they selfishly mock others who would seek out these (now destroyed) natural gifts for aesthetic enjoyment. The ravaging of the hoodoos in Utah really hurt personally. Over twenty years ago my older kids and I went to Goblin Valley purposely to see them and enjoy spending time among them. Walking among them in the dusk light of oncoming night was an extraordinary, near otherworldly experience. On occasion we still talk about it. To see a Boy Scout "leader" wickedly toppling one over made me wish I'd been there with a club to batter his thoughtless head and that obese body. That he was saving others from danger, as was his claim, was a transparently convenient excuse to justify his unhealthy, long-repressed perversions. May he ultimately burn in Hell...
It was a terrible made up excuse that he had to have thought of only after he tipped it over. Yeah for safety of others yeah right, it seemed pretty stable , and stable enough to last as long as it had. Then it looked like it took his fat ass a bit of effort to knock it over so i don't think it was a teetering accident waiting to happen. And I kinda forgot but didn't the video even say there we're signs and a fence or something to keep people back ?
When we got to number one I saw this coming. As a marine scientist who works with companies that build artificial coral reefs we use Raja Ampat as one of the many reasons why artificial reefs can actually be helpful when it comes to protecting reefs from ships. ALSO IT IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL IN THE U.S TO TOUCH AND HARASS SEA TURTLES and there are fines. So if you watch this video and see that the scuba diver is petting a sea turtle. This is not okay and not welcomed by tourists coming to the coasts in the U.S.
Back in October 2017, as part of the Iberian Wildfires that decimated hectares of trees, there was one of them (which I believe was arson, but I don't remember) that was the saddest: the fire in the Pinhal de Leiria. 80% of the pine tree forest, which is there since 1279, was destroyed. I can tell you that if Denis of Portugal (the king at the time) saw that, he would have been heartbroken, because he invested a lot in planting those trees :(
I'm Australian. I remember my Mother getting extremely upset when they banned climbing on Uluru. I tried to explain to her why it should never have been allowed in the first place and the deplorable behaviour which led to the ban. It wasn't until I asked her how she'd feel if the same was done to important Christian sites that she finally, (but grudgingly), agreed. Some people...
It's action like those that raise the question is humanity worth saving from any kind of human extinction event? And my answer is no. We had a good run, but our current human nature is our downfall.
Good and evil is something individual, but the really good ones is hard to find this days, but you can't determine the fate of a whole species for the actions of a selected few
@@JoaoGa210 That's true, I can't have determine the fate of a whole species I don't have the authority to but look at this way humanity as a species no matter where they go regardless of their intentions is an invasive species, cause humanity is incapable of limiting its impact in what ever environment we are introduce in and because of that other species suffer server negative results of our presences. So I'm not saying humanity should just roll over and die, just if some kind of crisis arise and only affect us as a species we should accept our fate and let things run its course.

Gotta love that title!
