Anyone who bullied Jake Lloyd for Star Wars has no right to call themselves a Star Wars fan. It’s not his fault! How did he know that this was gonna be a bad movie? Honestly any kid actor who played Anakin would have had the same fate.

Especially the ones at his school, those are the ones he had to see. The rest are at most strangers and can be ignored but the ones he saw everyday at school are the true despicable ones who ruin this kid life. Me too. I once saw a RUclips vid, of him at a Fan-Con or some kind, and he was introduced and came onstage and about 50% of the audience started booing him! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. He may not have been the best child actor but never deserved all the hate. I never thought he was that bad.....

Brendan Fraser should also be on this list too. Just like with Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino nearly lost their careers after rejecting Harvey Weinstein, Brendan's career was partly derailed after he was groped by HFPA President Philip Berk at a Golden Globes luncheon, and rejected Berk's advances. He also got into a messy divorce with his first wife, and it eventually got to where he couldn't make the insane alimony payments. So those were two morons who nearly ruined his career. But given his resurgence in popularity thanks to roles in The Whale and Doom Patrol, he's slowly putting that insanity behind him.
Those aren't morons, those are dirt bag sex offender piles of human garbage.
Fraser would have had a third role, as the villian Firefly, in "Batgirl", before the movie got scrapped.

Actually, this what happened which did not involved Nancy Reagan. Back in the late 1960's, Eartha Kitt attended a white house luncheon (LBJ was President at that time) and while there she spoke out against the Vietnam War. The comment she made, set back her career in America for years. Plus, the CIA spied on her and created a very negative file about her.
The Chicks made a valid, moral and righeous stand.
Fun fact: the first aunt Viv was replaced by the woman they wanted in the first place, but turned down because she didn't wanna work with rappers at the time
What happened to Jake Lloyd, and also Ahmed Best i might add, really makes me sick, it's one thing to dislike the characters they have played but going so far as to bullying and make death threats to the actors is just being assholes. I really wish i could give those two a hug and also give a huge slaps to every morons who ruined their lives.

@@white-dragon4424 What you just said reminds me of the tale of The Wolf and The Lamb, it's a short tail in which a wolf see a lamb from below drinking water, rather than just go to kill and eat the lamb the wolf screams at him that he's making the water dirty for the wolf by drinking from it. The lamb points out gently that it is not possible because the water goes from the wolf to the lamb and not the other way around, so the wolf accuses the lamb o having isulted him a year ago but again the lamb points out that he wasn't even born. After that the wolf accuses the father's lamb of insulting him instead and the lamb gently apologized on behalf of his father, instead of accepting the apology the wolf decided instead of kill the lamb using such excuse to do so. The moral of the story is that evil persons find every excuses possible to hurt innocents people, no matter how absurd they are, because they are cowards, such is the case with the wolf because he could have just killed the lamb and eaten him because he was hungry but instead he lost time to justify his action in every way possible instead of admitting that he wanted to kill the lamb to eat it. This fact can be applied to every bullies you can think of, including the ones of Jake lloyd.

Jake Lloyd was done so dirty by so many. It was supposed to be a dream role for him, and the script issues were not the fault of a 10yr old child.
Honestly WM, where is Brendan Fraser!?!? The BS he went through!? He is probably the most well known actor to have his career ruined over complete BS.
As far as my memory serves, Lance Bass was one of the first celebrities I remember coming out as gay. At the time there were a lot of people on the fence or on both sides of the fence but slowly more and more celebrities started to come out of the closet and that was really inspiring to see. I don't know if his coming out publicly had a major play in other celebrities coming out, but I'd like to think it was a factor in helping them to some extent. I think every time someone shows bravery like that it inspires other people even if the reaction isn't immediate. I'm saddened that him coming out took away some business opportunities that he had lined up and in some ways cast him into the shadows because while there was support, there was also criticism and backlash just because he was willing to share his truth with everyone openly. It makes it even sadder knowing that even though we've come such a long way even since Lance coming out, there are still so many people afraid to come out for a lot of reasons and even those in Hollywood that are still terrified to come out of the closet still because of the fear of what coming out will do to their career and to their reputation. :(

I have been through a similar situation as the football player Orlando! He talks about forgiveness but for me it's really hard to do those cops ruined my life completely!! It's hard for me to get a decent paying job I was in school at the time for dental hygiene and had to stop that completely since I can't work in that field as a felon ! I DIDNT HAVE ANY DRUGS ON ME !! AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN VENDICATED OF THE CRIME I DID NOT COMMIT!!

I know a lot of people consider Malcolm X as Denzel Washington’s greatest performance but for me my favorite Denzel Washington performance is as Ruben “Hurricane” Carter. I feel everyone should watch that movie.

What are you talking about? Winona's career has been fine since the shoplifting scandal. She's been in several movies and TV shows since then, including Star Trek, Black Swan, and, of course, Stranger Things.
Ryder pretty much did it to herself. That shoplifting video that "scandalized" her is one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen. She was wandering around a swanky department store with armloads of expensive clothes, ripped the tags off then tried to walk out with it.

Her image took a hit, but her career was nothing close to destroyed, and she's been starring in plenty of acclaimed properties since then.

I was never a celebrity. I was never going to be a celebrity. I had some potential for a good life and career, but my life was messed up as well. In my case however, the mess-ups were my own damned fault. Poor judgment earlier in life. Dumb decisions I made. I have no one to blame for how I turned out but myself. And I can live with that and move on. I live a modest life but I am happy with it. But how much harder it must be to have been someone who could have been rich and famous, and it was all ruined not by my own dumb mistakes but because of someone else's mistakes. My God, I don't know if I could live with *that* at all. I would hate to be the one who caused someone else to fail. At least (afaik anyway) I don't have anything like that to deal with (never married; never had kids, never had a job where someone's happiness or safety depended on me, etc.). I think I am much happier having no one to blame for how my life turned out but me.
Jake Lloyd was a victim of bad writing. He did his best, and frankly, Jake's portrayal of Anakin was better than Hayden's.

I know it's the least depressing compared to everyone on the list, but Victoria Justice, at least as far as a music career.
I watched Victorious when it was on Nickelodeon, and while Victoria Justice was quite a decent singer, Ariana Grande was a better singer. I also think after the show ended she focused more on her acting career, appearing in an MTV show, but it got canceled after one season. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande was already releasing her first music album at the same time she was starring in Sam and Cat, and after that show ended she plowed into her music career full time.

I don't think the Janet Hubert situation was that simple. Over the years it's been shown that Will wasn't the only cast member who had a problem with her behavior on set. The entire cast seemed to have hard feelings towards her, and she refused to except responsibility for herself.
I recall some comments from Alfonso Ribeiro. He said the whole cast was like a family, except Janet. Even the late James Avery said that she was often difficult

You forgot Jason David Frank, who killed himself due to his soon to divorce and lies his wife said about him. She stated he cheated on her and beat her which was never true. It tarnished his reputation and he was in severe depression. He thought noone cared or was there for him.

Katherine Heigl she ruined her career by bashing the very movie she was in Knocked up, saying the movie paints women as shrews, humorless and uptight, while the men are painted as “lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys.” Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

I may not be a fan of Anakin in general, but the fact that the actor was bullied for the lines and character he was given (I'm assuming) is beyond stupid. Yes, the lines are awful, and yes, the character was a child flirting with someone at least TWICE his age...But it's not the ACTOR's reality! He was just doing a job given by superiors to make a little money and help a continuously growing franchise!
I feel bad for him; All that trauma, and I feel like that could be one reason why things went super downhill for him...Of course, I don't know his whole life story, but still...It just adds up to me.

Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle should be number one. Not only was he embroiled in the first scandal (which involved blackmail), but was later exonerated by a jury.

If there was anything "moronic" involving The Dixie Chicks, it was not running what they were going to do with a PR manager. A local radio personality here where I live has quipped, "Before you click send, ask a friend." They failed to understand their audience and paid the consequences.
But I think they were partly vindicated as the reason for going to Iraq- the search for weapons of mass destruction within the borders- turned out to be fruitless.
They were victims of cancel culture that the far right remain hypocritically silent about.
It just bothered me that they said this to a European audience. It wouldn’t bother me if it happened on an American stage. And by the way, European forces in WWI destabilized the Middle East when they dismantled the Ottoman Empire without any stabilization afterwards, not America.

Rubin's crime makes no sense whatsoever, a crime for murder due to racism when the fact that there's no real crime for it, I reckon the true racist person in this situation is the judge and whoever brought the cops to arrest him. His arrest is the exact same situation as Orlando's because he was arrested for drugs when it was the officer who arrested him had the drugs, idiot! he could've made the show friends more interesting and furthered his football career. And Jake Lloyd was only 10 when the movie came out and people had to backlash it, to be fair it wasn't a good movie for its beloved franchise, but you can't blame a child star, that's just child abuse! Jake Lloyd was one of the cutest kids I had ever seen on screen and was very talented. It really breaks my heart what he had to go through at that young age. Hope he's doing well now.
