I've been told the USA is declaring a national holiday when Miss Manigalt passes her test. It may become a worldwide holiday at this rate. I'm glad she cheered up Judge Simpson a little.
I don’t think she cheered him up. I think he gets her game and he sounded frustrated like he was actually sick of her BS. I don’t know why people don’t see through it. I had a friend exactly like her.
In truck driving school, our first "yard task" was a 100 ft forward and reverse (repeat ad nauseum) in a lane marked by cones. Sounds simple, but in a tractor trailer it can go south quickly. One of my classmates earned the moniker "John Wyck and the Russian cones" due to his remarkable ability to run over every cone per cycle, lol
@@ludditeneaderthal I always clap our Safeways 18-wheeler truck delivery drivers to them. They move these enormous trucks like they are Mini Coopers. I cannot imagine doing what you do. I salute you, sir.

Making Trustee is awesome. He had to earn it and the pride with which he announced it describes the importance and it was important to earn praise from Judge Simpson.
Today's 3B arraignments had some strange stuff, already mentioned in the Discord. Also a funny bit with a guy who chronically failed to show up. The judge finally got him in, and had this exchange: "Could I talk to my attorney?" "We could appoint one for you." "I thought my attorney was Deborah Davis." "No, she's the prosecutor!" "I guess that's why she didn't return my call."
Yeah; He can get "testy", but I dont blame him with so much scrap...Can tell he actually CARES about those people; Especially the young black men!!! Let good fathers back in their sons lives; It takes a MAN to MAKE A MAN!!!
@@workinprogress69 I've never seen him be unfair. Stern at times, but not unfair. Many of the people that come before him need to straighten up and fly right. Respect for the court shows taking the situation seriously.
It drives me nuts watching how some behave during Zoom court hearings. Driving, smoking (38:20 bottom left & 39:45 bottom right), laying in bed, eating, etc. Everyone should be told that courtroom etiquette is expected, since so many behave like they're in a court hearing. It's ridiculous!
I lay partial blame on the court and the attorneys for not explicitly announcing the zoom rules. They also use too much lingo that the accused may nit understand. Like Stipulation.
Re Janelle....I like the way she said, "They are making me go next week for the test." Thanks for showing this. I laughed pretty much all the way through. I too love Judge Dad.
🤭🤭🤭 What are you wearing! 😂🤣😂 😘 We're packing and cleaning up to move atm. Too busy to be around much, and when I am, it's to lurk only.. but I'll be back to giving you heaps in a week or so.. 🤠✌
Question, why do they ask if they are on probation or parole? Wouldn't the court see that? Just curious. Thanks Mr. Mike for giving such entertainment. Your laugh is contagious. ❤❤❤❤
They ask because if a defendant is on probation, a guilty plea can constitute a violation and can lead to revocation of probation and incarceration.... basically the consequences could be super severe for a minor offense if someone is on probation or parole for a serious offense.
Ahhh Janelle...I never got a license, turns out dyslexia and a neurological disorder which imposes both spacial and over stimulation issues. I did drive on a ranch, could do a straight line forward and in reverse like nobody else, but...At this point (65yo,) turns out a pedestrian lifestyle has it's perks. Keeps ya in shape, ya can really enjoy smellin' the roses, do more than wave at a neighbor, etc. We often in life, so intently focused on the destination, we forget the many pleasures which zip by within the journeys we take to get there.
Question: When people are brought before our favorite Judge Manning for PRE-trial, why have they been in jail 100, 200, 300 days without getting a bail hearing? Do I have that wrong?
Look how slight camera angles change perspective of that one judge. 1st view she looks lost in her seat, kind of dumpy. 2nd view she looks nice and powerful. Zoom camera angles matter 😂
You guys are on your own with fhe cone killer. I have rooted and really hoped she'd get her liscense. But slam on the breaks here! This was such a sweet deal and she puts on the smiley little girl voice and has been shining Judge Simpson along. It reminds me of an old joke called "Later Jack-ass later.." 😆 🤣 😂
Janelle's 9 siblings should pool some money together to get her several driving lessons from a professional seeing as their assistance hasn't been much help so far. Judge Simpson wants to retire but is waiting on Janelle. 😮
Hey Mike, did you see the sentencing of the xxx murder trial? Mr turtleneck seemed to finally “get it”, but he’s the only one. The chubby dude still had that stupid smirk!🤦🏼♀️
I am at the point where I'm ready to drive up to Michigan from Georgia to teach Janelle personally how to parallel park. Teach in an SUV, get her to test in a compact. I've taught dozens of problem children how to successfully parallel park in my near half century of driving. She's a sweetie, she tries hard, and Judge Simpson has a soft spot for her, but even he is going to eventually hit his limit if she doesn't pass.
Since it was asked... A trustee is an inmate that has either been sentenced to county jail time or awaiting sentencing for a non violent crime that has proven themselves to be trustworthy and has no write ups. They will typically be housed with other trustees alone so as not to give in to the pressures of other inmates to do them favors since most trustees have access to items other inmates won’t, such as kitchen items, food, coffee, et…
There is potential civil liability if they plead guilty. Pleading guilty is saying yes i did it. Pleading no contest is saying basically I’m not admitting i did wrong but i acknowledge the evidence against me. The standard of proof in a civil case is lower. Simply pleading guilty is enough to be held civilly liable. Pleading no contest forces someone in a civil case to prove it there as well. Pleading guilty the civil case is open and closed because they don’t have to find fault you admitted it

I'm surprised the judge didn't tell her to stop playing w her hair
Washington state...
It made me bonkers!😝😂
The truth!
OMG! I wanted to shave her head soooo badly!
She looked and sounded like she was high.
Nothing says someone is not quite “right” than someone continuously ( pathologically?) playing with their hair.

"Not yet."

Trustee usually means you can work in places that the other inmates cannot. Sometimes includes a different housing unit too.
He made trustee but can he parallel park?? That’s the real question 😂😂

They know if they are on probation or parole. Its all right in front of them. They ask to get it on the record, and to see if they lie.
They get asked in case the charges are in another jurisdiction.

That is the MOST self soothing behavior!!😂😂😂
Oh, you're dressed! Haha looking sharp, Counsel. Very dignified and shit. 😉
When you make trustee, you get two for one on your sentence. Which means everyday you spend in jail counts as two.
Right. In Michigan you also get 5 days a month off just being in jail. As a trustee you get 2 for 1 plus 5 days a month.
I just saw I’m a new member. ThanYou so much. In my seventies and can’t figure out my iPhone. I’m thrilled. 🙏☘️
