Thank you for sharing another informative video! I like how you approached the term "Micronesia" as ineffective in some ways but still important today for other reasons.

Thank you for clarifying the meaning of Micronesia. In the mid-1960s my ship patrolled the Federated States of Micronesia under the mandate of the United Nations. We patrolled the Marianas and north to the Bonin Islands, as well as Eastern through Western Caroline Islands from Palau to Pohnpei. Our homeport was Apra Harbor, Guam.

YES! You're right about what you said about Chuuk. My island is part of Chuuk state. But whenever the people from my island talk about going to the main island, Weno (in the lagoon), they say "lets go to Chuuk". To us, Chuuk is just all the islands in Chuuk lagoon, not really us outer islands (Fanapi) lol.

I remember getting so confused my first week on guam mid 80s when a Chamoru explained to me that in Guam and Saipan they are Chamorus, the rest of the alchepelago Micronesians. To me, the region was Micronesia not really an ethnicity or an official ethnicity as I am Pohnpeian.
I had to apply for a student visa(i20 or i25 not sure) to go to Guam. Mr Bordallo was the governor at the time I believe. "Centerfield" by John Fogerty was the top song. Those days they call Pohnpeian: Ponapens. Chuukese: Truckese.
Thank you for sharing Mr Pulan.

Chamorus are Micronesians lol. But keep in mind that there are more Filipinos there now than there are islanders

Can you do a research how Belau ended up as Palau? We never refer to our home island as Palau among ourselves...always Belau. Thank you.

I have no idea in terms of easiest path of citizenship for the island polities. But I do know it’s relatively easy to become a resident of Guam.

I live on the Island of Guam. I would have enjoyed the interesting information you bring to the table; but, your attitude is so snotty, childish and unprofessional, I can not get through the entire presentation. Otherwise, you appear to be well read and have a good grasp of the subject.
