He apologises to oichi in his time of dying which really twists the knife after having to put him down thinking all this time he was just a stubborn tough guy. In the end he showed to be a good man despite having to suffer the fate of becoming that which he despises the most in a last ditch effort to save his wife.
You mustn't have played nioh 1 if you felt nothing for nekomata. Yokai doesnt make you bad, remember Nioh 2 is about saving them/cleansing them legit...you literally play a Yokai in it hahaha, if you werent a Yokai you would have been eviscerated in MANY of these fights with ease.

And the only thing Katsuie asked, is that he wishes Toshiie to try his best to assist Hideyoshi, and a bowl of Chazuke.

It was a smart thing to put "White Tiger" from Nioh 1 since it was one of the best pieces in the soundtrack. Befitting of the name, it was used in "White Tiger" Boss fight and most importantly it was also used in one of the best boss fight of the game... "Ishida Mitsunari"
I know White Tiger/Ishida Mitsunari had this theme in the first game, but it sounds like the added some more instruments to this version. Could be I'm just imagining it, but especially at the very end sounds different from how i remember it. Still an incredibly good song though, and i don't really mind that they reused it for this game.
The reused tracks from 1 were definitely retooled, but Freed From This Mortal Coil is the only one of them to appear on the official OST release (unless you count William among those.)

Favorite boss so far in my playthrough, it was a fun challenge of patience and also the theme fits it bc I remember this guy from a side mission. Plus I love pigs so having a big boar with her little piglets as spirit animal struck me :(
first time i fought shibata i decided to fight him again a little later without using low stance as much bc the first time i basically just ran away and poked him once every 2 minutes, the second fight was much harder but a lot more fun fighting him head-on

Nobunaga had all the best generals come to think of it. Besides the Takada, Hojo and one more but cant spell it. No wonder he was destined to take Japan. He let his guard down once fate is a fickle bitch
"Ruin Draws Near" is one of my least favorite missions so far (this includes the underwhelming boss fight against Maeda), but Shibata Katsuie turned out to be great! An epic, hard battle against a honorable warrior that truly represented the strength and sturdiness of a boar.
For me most frustrating part of the fight was when he starts running around in dark realm leaving pools of fire, I burned more often than I was grabbed or hit by his axe

Behind that tough and brash exterior he was an intelligent and emotionally deep man with honour.

Those screams of Sibata Katsuie in the fight , you can feel his pain and rage with the help of the music.
Just perfect.
This song and fight really hit me in realising it's a "What have you become?" moment...
Katsuie came across as rough and rude at times, but in the end he was a caring husband and a good man with a good heart.
This is honestly my favorite boss theme in Nioh 2 it really sets the mood for the fight sooo damn right.

This theme and fight reminded me of Ravus Aeterna of FFXV. Both being tragic.

Yeah it felt even shorter than "The sun sets on Mount Tenno" and was overall pretty underwhelming excepting the Boss fight.

Thankfully I'm good at dodging (killed in solo 2nd try, didn't spoil anything). It's just a bit boring, not hard.

Boss is cool although pretty easy, however the shibata you can summon in the underworld is the biggest piece of sht in this game, useless passive npc
