In this video I test Turtlewax: Cheap Car Shampoo Vs. Expensive from Turtle wax this is a simple but very interesting comparison links to both products below Thanks for watching.
In the course of time, I see no reason to spend money on commercial products in the meantime, while things could be better. TW is good of course, but there is much better on the market. I have been using the Belgian brand NERTA for years, they can also be found under NERTA UK. Including their Carnet Jumbo as a regular shampoo and pre-wash, the Bio Polish as a rinse aid and polish and wax also with foam lance. Or their WE64. Their Fallout 7 at 30 pounds for five liters is even better than Iron-x or the Autobrite equivalent, and their Wheel Shine Super at 23 pounds is great for both tires and rims, and very powerful. And for the price you pay for five liters you can buy a small bottle elsewhere. That Big Orange and the others are fun for people or enthusiasts who don't look any further. Thanks again for the test!
Hay Paul have you thought about doing a video as if you had a hosepipe ban like we have down here in the Southwest since April as I think it would be very informative on how to clean your cars with out the use of a hosepipe and pressure washer
So what I take away from this is avoid TW shampoos all together 😅 Cheap one did nothing, The expensive one is £18 for 1420ml minimum recommended 60ml per use making it 78p per wash. Decent shampoo’s elsewhere are about £11 for 500ml and work well 20ml a go which is 44p per wash and even better value bought in bigger quantities.
I actually have the two of them at the moment, coincidentally. I use the big orange for my wheels, my missus & daughter's car and I use the slick n slide for my own car. I always tried different shampoos over the years, but I have to say this is my new favourite. Labcosmetica semper shampoo is also fantastic.
I'ce been a fan of turtle wax's hybrid solutions line, it got me buying the brand again. They offer a wide variety, like fram oil filters, you can get a $2 filter, and you better not expect it to be good, or you can buy a $9 filter and get a really nice value premium product.
I think 🤔 your missing the point of the video my friend it’s a comparison in quality of the product is buying 5litres of cheap shampoo worth it against the premium shampoo and in this case a big difference 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice to see the old style intro back again....my comment on the video is that the way you compared these was majorly unfair as the expensive shampoo is tailored from factory to be used in a bucket or a snow foam lance and the cheaper version is meant to be used in one way by adding to a bucket, you could have also used double the amount of the cheaper version, imo if you use them in the way they are meant to be used then there will be very little difference in lubricity and suds. You just need to think it through more before comparing them two products which are aimed at very different types of car washing public. Im sure Turtle wax would tell you the same thing....quite a poor comparison startegy Paul
This is purely to show the difference between shampoos in price versus performance if you watch Specky’s video link below his findings were fairly similar to mine I’ve also used dozens of shampoos in lances with no problem but appreciate your comments 🙌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I bought it a couple of years ago to use as a cheap wheel shampoo. I did one wheel and have never used it since. I've still got 10 litres of the stuff in the garage and really should pour it down the drain. Coloured water is a very good description.
I've been using Turtle wax pro products for a while now as they've really upped their game especially Slick n slide pure wash, I've tried many other wash shampoo's over the years and I have to say Slick n slide is very good, I think I'll be using this for a while longer, nice one Paul, and thanks for reconfirming my thoughts on this matter.
Quite an interesting video. Never really been a fan of Turtle wax, but with the recent launch of new products I’ve tried a few and been pleasantly impressed with some of them. Tried the Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wash & Wax shampoo and it’s very similar, no duds at all but leaves a nice hydrophobic layer behind. Just something not right about washing a car with no suds. 🧐👌🏻the Graphene QD is pretty good too.
Using my quick math you could use 4 times as much Big Orange and still be about half the price of the Pure Wash. Would be interesting to see the BO foam at 4x the strength in the cannon. The Pure Wash is my go to soap, It costs me over £1 a wash but I'm fine with that.
Pure wash is an excellent product the one thing I like about Turtle wax is the deals and free postage I’ve tried BO in my Lance since making this video it was almost neat still not great
I watched Specky's video first, as I stated I do like using some of the TW pro products, but never used this one. I checked and this slick n slide shampoo is not available on Amazon? I am currently using a shampoo from 3D called nano pail, 64 oz makes 5 gallons, super concentrated. Cost $40 US for 64 oz. Seems to work well when I use shampoo, however, I usually do ONR washes. You may want to review that shampoo? Keep up the good work on the Podcast, always entertaining!
I think the results were predictable to be fair. But it did demo a point made in one of the podcasts. I will though, be sticking to GT Shampoo. But to be honest, considering what Turtle Wax did to Jay at Bouncers, I'd encourage everyone not to buy a Turtle Wax product.
As I said on Speckys the orange is maybe aimed at the more commercial market who don't care so much ? What we use looked like urine , but thankfully smells better , and around the same thickness to use . Watching yours the orange made me think of Auto Glym shampoo . Feels like wiping water over your car but does kind of do a job . In regards to using shampoo in a foam lance once used and say you have 50 % left , would it be OK to leave in the bottle for next time ? Just made me think it's a lot of product to use in a lance to have some left that is maybe wasted . Just a thought but interesting to see how you both found it , and results and views on it after.
Another great video Paul. Nice to you back in front of the camera. I watched specky first and thought I'd maybe use the big orange as a quick wash after tough journey a stop gap between maintenence and full wash. But of course, I like yourself, live in hard water area and appeared useless. So I wouldnt consider. But the pure, not bad in the lance. Great stuff 😊
Nice comparison video Paul. Proof again that you get what you pay for. Clearly they are covering all bases with these products, one for people who love washing their car and the other one for people who don't😅
Hello Paul, another interesting video,I've seen Speckys and different results.the orange one isn't as good as the expensive one.being budget and expensive in the end it's price wise.
I must admit I have never used either of these products, but after this great video from you I now know which one to purchase! . At the moment I am using the maguires gold class car shampoo! In the same size bottle and can be used in the foam cannon it’s great to use and suds up nicely in a bucket. I am keen to get myself to wax stock next year👍😎.
Great to see you infront of the camera. Yes I did read another's comment and your reply, so pleased we're going to see more of you. Great video as always 👏👏
Another cracker of a video Paul. Bravo 👏. I bought some of the orange water and it’s sh#te. Y do turtle wax sell this stuff, it just cheapens the brand. Surely if they just sold the later products they shake off some of the old image. Look at Skoda for instance, they’re better than the VW equivalent cars. That said, they charge way to much for wiper blades and other sundries. How much are wiper blades on the Metro buddy. I’m presuming expensive by the way your hanging on to them. P m s l. Another enjoyable 12 minutes with my favourite detailer. Thanku pal
Hi Paul, really enjoy your videos always good. I just like to say thanks on your answer about valet pro citrus pre wash, I had a look at their website and decided to order their pre wash, car shampoo and snow foam. Looking at their dilution ratios, I've work out I can get upto 30 washes, which is much better than what I'm using now, once again thanks
Maybe it would be an idea with the cheaper soap, to spray on a section at a time, wash and then continue round the car...??!!?? Anyhoo, at least you can wash your car!! Where I live in Kent is under a hospe pipe ban, due to the "increased demand by people working from home....!" Thank you South East Water!!!
@@sheffcitys2forgedinsteel255 Car washing is banned also, unless it's a specified car wash and there is no way I'm taking it to hand car wash grit pit!!

Another freebie pressure washer 🤔

you need more lubrication, i hope you didn't make any scratches
So what I take away from this is avoid TW shampoos all together 😅

Big orange is great for maintenance wash 2 or 3 times a week, cleaning power is poor though

all car shampoos clean because you are using a mitt and rubbing the car lol. Only difference I've found is amount of suds and slickness.
I think 🤔 your missing the point of the video my friend it’s a comparison in quality of the product is buying 5litres of cheap shampoo worth it against the premium shampoo and in this case a big difference 👍🏻👍🏻
The big orange you don't dilute that's why it just nun off your car.

Lovely Jubbly video Paul, I have to agree with you with the results, might clean the paving slabs though😂.

Sorry to hear that. Turtle Wax is the best.
Comparing the same amount is not a fair test. You should have put more of the cheap one in based on cost to make the test equivalent.
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I use Sonax car shampoo and it's great. 2 litres for £8. I'd say it's premium
Good call 👍🏻
You get what you pay for. I use the turtle wax pure it’s the best shampoo I’ve used and I’ve tried most out there.
Your bang on the money it’s an excellent shampoo not my favourite but good value for what it does 👍🏻

Snow foam is a waste of time and money..
If that were true pro valeters wouldn't use it.
I used the big orange and it is useless. Mind you the other product is 13 times more expensive per litre. I would not use the orange product again
I am going to check out Specky but I wonder if the Scottish connection !may influence him
The cheaper product made me laugh for a min. None stop.
I love the pure shampoo
Cracking video buddy.
See you soon pal
Keep them coming
I love your content
Great vid( glad i didnt get the 5l shampoo now)😂 very informative. buying cheap sometimes is the more expensive😬.

Great to see you back in the prat cave with your thoughts before and after.
It’s how I’m going to film from now on 👍🏻👍🏻
The Chepo one is like what you get if you put the more pricey one in a hose pipe foam gun. Pee poor 😄
Great Comparison video, I agree with both Specky & yourself with both your results!

Good video. Should have kept adding the cheap one to see how much you needed to get the same consistency of foam.
Keep up the good work.
